Having grown up in the Salvation Army I know the old traditional hymns. As you can see I still love them. This is simply a Christian Statement. God made the world, sent His only son to save us from our sins. God is Awesome and this song simply states the facts.

my memories are so vivid of being dirt poor in the 1970s. my awsome mum made sure we all got something small for christmas while my dad is feasting with his girlfriend and her kids.. we would go to public parks for a picnic with sandwiches and water..and we had a FEAST!! mum would play jim reeves everyday and all day. i remember tears wetting her face when this song plays. God must have a special place in heaven for single parents who's partners have left. love you mum.

Never fully understood the words until I was older, but have sung this song many times when my heart and spirit has been hurt and needed to remember that "It Is No Secret What God Can Do". I was in an accident and the hospital for several weeks as a young child. My family was poor and could only make the long trip to visit once a week on Sunday. Sister Mary would turn on the radio in my room as she got me up and ready for my family's visit. This song was the introduction to a Sunday morning gospel radio program and I always associate it with the gentle soul of the sister and of my family's love and sacrifice. It truely is no secret what God can do!
