  • The Pride also has to memorize the visitors fight song every week because we play it in pregame plus all the other stuff already said. Some of them are a little challenging too! I am in the Pride and proud of it.

  • @evgirl18 Well not every week UT doesnt have a Home game Every week only like the 1st 3 weeks cuz the only games TPSLMB travel to are big SEC games like florida and UK maybe USC or Bama but you guys only play the Other teams Fight Song is when your home

  • im in the Marchining Virginians at Virginia Tech and our a lot of our band use flip folders but we perform a different show every home game! it's not like we have the same show every game, every year like some bands. we challenge ourselves to put on a new and exciting show that keeps the audience from getting bored some yes, we use flip folders because as we all know its hard to master three new songs in a week. Theres no shame in it at all!

  • I was a member of the Million Dollar Band from 1992 - 1998. UT Always performed with Flip folders, and if you watch all the videos on YouTube of UT's band, you'll see the flip folders. The MDB NEVER uses flip folders, regardless of the performance.

    ROCKY BLOCKED BY MOUNT CODY!!!!!!!!

    ROLL TIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • They do use flip folders in seven of their EIGHT shows. They don't in Pregame which is harder faster and better than the MDB. It involves more songs and a great variety in both musical difficulty, and even tempo. They also don't use flip folders in salute to the hill which is 4 sonngs. Oh and of course again they don't in circle drill which is 5 songs and way over 200 measures of music. Not to mention the three songs in the UT sequence. The MDB can't hold a candle to the pride.

  • Why not play WITHOUT flip-folders?!?!?!?

  • This is WITHOUT flip folders... Why not think before you speak

  • UT's Band NEVER marches a show where ALL of the members march without flip folders!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You're a retard. Circle drill is without flip folders and lines up perfectly.

UT does use flip folders for the rest of the halftime shows but it's because UT's band does EIGHT halftime shows per year. The next highest number by an SEC school is 4... The fans would rather have EIGHT unique, powerful shows, than see the same show week after week but have the music memorized... think before you speak next time fag.

  • I've been there, SEEN IT.... go blow someone else.

How'd it feel to lose to the Alabama's secondary school, Auburn???

    UT SUX!!!!

  • I'm actually IN the band and Circle Drill is completely memorized. It's almost impossible to march with folders.

  • listen to they guy between 1:17 and 1:20..... all he says is wow lol

  • Super!

  • I was at that game in that same section

  • I was at the game and I must admit that this was pretty impressive. I also have to mention that the MDB pride themself in the music, not the formations. I wish they would do something like this though. Anyway...41-17.

  • Nice job on the circle drill! Texas Tech also has a circle drill with the rotating flower (Texas Tech-Ohio State game). I believe it was created in the 60's, but its fun to bring it back every few years. I also posted the Texas Tech halftime from the 1973 Gator Bowl vs Tennessee. It would be fun to see the Tennessee show from back then.

  • I'm not trying toargue with anything that you are saying however I would like to say that UT invented circle drill and the flower drill just for the record.

  • @andreasgriffable Tennessee was the 1st marching band to Come up with Formations Look it up

  • @Tinman614614 I believe that is what I said, did I not?

  • @andreasgriffable No you didnt i ment Tennessee Was the 1st marching band to do any Formations not just the Circle Drill

  • @Tinman614614 it's possible I just don't understand what you mean, but I Don't think that is the case either.

  • yall shut up, Pride of THe Southland is the best bandout there,

and iwas at that game, sitting almost right by you! this is weird..

  • my high school band makes cirles too and rotates them also

  • Not like this, they don't.

  • We make a circle and we rotated this year and it was a complete circle and for one i did not say that we did stuff like that i just simply said that we make circles and rotate them!!!!!

  • I'm just saying that the quality of the UTK drill is such that it can't adequately be compared to--I'm not saying that I doubt your band ever stood in a circle.

  • There is no reason to be so rude. Just the fact that you feel the need to remark on a comment such as Saxdood's is very asinine and unnecessary. Grow up and stop being so discourteous.

  • Dont they do this same drill with same songs and same bus ride around Tennessee every 3 years or so???

  • If it was a band competition, we would totally rule! We've done the circle drill before anyways

  • We did do it...when I was in the Million Dollar Band...back when the earth was still cooling.

  • Maybe if the football team would have worked as hard as the band did, the results would have been different. Probably not though, Roll Tide!

  • Beverly my roommate is in the colorguard at UT and she worked her ass off for the circle drill. It definitly payed off.

P.S. she didn't tell me to say this.

  • Gosh, your band looks so.........small.

  • Let's see your band do that. All they did was stand and dance a little. It was so obvious which band was superior, even the tide fans knew it was UT.

  • I agree UT band was better than ours but it wasn't a band competition. It was a football game...41-17 ROLL TIDE!

  • i would have to disagree with you...you can't compare these two bands because they are too different and i can't say that UT's band is superior until i see them do something other than circle drill.

  • then watch their pregame or any of their halftime shows. They are two bands from the same conference. Of course you can compare them.

  • i agree

  • Looks like you were sitting in the upperdeck where the majority of the UT fans were.. I sat up there during A-day back in April. It's pretty good view!

  • I agree UT band was better than ours but

    41-17 ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!

  • lol, thats ok, we are a basketball school now. Go Vols!

  • wow! I was at the game and I had more than one Alabama fan say to me, well our football team might be better, but your band sure embarrassed ours! That's unfortunate! Get glasses if you think your band is better. Your band can't even compare to ours.

  • Your comment makes absolutely no sense.

  • The circle drill is a tradition of the UT band. They have been doing it for a long time.

  • I agree. I've seen quite a few videos of the Circle Drill, but this one is pretty high up on the list of great performances.

  • I would hate to be a member of the bama band and have to follow that.
