I'd like to see some more from you. The camera shuddering is a bit annoying ... nice solution you have there, though. I would suggest picking up a webcam. A nice, quality webcam will run you about $40.
Or, just use an old camcorder -- that's what I use for my video blogs.

I am looking to pick up a mini-tripod for my camera, which should take care of the shuddering. I actually have an old camcorder, but it's really old and the video quality's even worse than this.
