  • In short, the FairTax eliminates the middle man. Corporations only pass their income taxes to the consumer, by raising the prices. Eliminate the corporate income tax, and the price will come down to allow just 5 percent profit, due to competition. Replace this with the FairTax, and the price will come right back where it was. Prices won't change (maybe slightly), take home will rise, the fed budget won't change. Nothing will change except you'll never handle another tax form again.

  • ATTENTION!!!

MarkDouglasC & MybookDeal & TaxSanity = the same person!

How do I know this? Look at the profiles... same age. Coincidence? How about this: MarkDouglasC told me in another post that he wrote books. Also notice... he spams all FairTax video's. NOBODY can be that against this unless he has an interest to protect. He's IRS plain and simple. Nice try Mark!

  • I take the negative comments from the "armchair economists" with a grain of salt. They base their entire argument on one or two obscure articles, then run off half-cocked posting their negative comments without first getting all the facts.

I support Mike Huckabee and the Fair Tax!

  • I smell a rat here. Come on Mark, tell us what the alternative is. You sort-of sound like one of those Paultards, but you haven't really come right out and said it. What's the fix? Are you a tax attorney? An accountant? IRS? H&R Block? Tax avoider? What's your interest in not seeing the FairTax passed?

  • Well, now you're starting to sound a little better. Your other posts just make you look like an angry mental case. See how much better it is when you calm down and explain yourself? And the name calling doesn't lend you any credibility either. Calling people morons doesn't help either. I still disagree with you, but at least you're starting to sound a little more sane.

  • Apology accepted. Your opinions have been well noted! You say you've read the FairTax book and you disagree. Now is the time to go write your congressman and senators. Tell them how you feel. You can do it from their web sites. I did, and I've received responses from all of them. All of my representatives support the FairTax. It would be interesting to see where your's stand... don't you think?

  • My congressman is Howard Coble R-NC.

Senators Dole and Burr both republicans. They all responded to the emails that I sent them from their web sites. They all support it.

  • Well, you just may get your wish. The bill has gathered a lot of support in the house. My congressman supports it. AND, it's gaining more and more support every day.

  • If you don't support the Fair Tax, you probably don't fully understand it. Go to fairtax . org and learn more.

  • I dont support the Fairtax - BECAUSE I know it. Becasue I read it. Its a high sales tax on new houses- did you know that? That same high sales tax is on government purchases, military spending - did you know that? Its on everything -- including medical cost- did you know that? Consider the consequences of these absurdities for a while, and get back to me.

  • I would suggest reading two books about the Fair Tax:

    1. The Fair Tax Book by Neal Boortz and Rep. John Linder

    2. Fairtax: The Truth: Answering the Critics also by Neal Boortz and John Linder

Don't criticize something you don't understand.

  • I read the first book, I will get the second today. Thanks. But unless Mr Linder can reinvent math by the time I get the book, the FT is a looney -- not just stupid -- idea. For many reasons. One -- you cant magically have government paying itself taxes - they would have to raise taxes to pay their taxes.

Apparently, you are too stupid to understand that.

  • A high national sales tax would have to be 40 or 50 percent, moron, especially if it replaced FICA and cap gains tax too. So your average guy making 35K would have an extra 400 a month -- but things would cost him 2000 a month more. You morons that think this tax makes sense -- think again. Its utter nonsense.

  • LOL Thats right Mike Huckabee waste our time with fantasies like making the IRS disappear!! Some should tell Pastor Huckabee that as Preident he only has the power to enforce laws and absolutely no power to change or make laws!!!!!

  • huckabee is a moron about taxes, I pay 15% bracket now and he wants me to pay 34-39% to cover the tax that are collected now. 34% tax on a car, DR. Gas ETC ( all goods and services)

    More smoke and mirror politics

  • it does matter how much tax we pay...idiot.

  • Truly, Ponzi would love the supporters of the National Sales Tax.

  • As much as I like Mike Huckabee, the elimination of the income tax would distablize the economy. If you look at economic growth tables before the FIT you will see chaotic economic growth and recession. This is because the graduated FIT acts as an automatic economic stablizer, meaning as average household income decreases, so does the average tax rate, helping curb a recession automatically.

  • I would encourage everyone to go get (or borrow from your local library) a copy of the fair tax book. It is much more than a flat tax. It is a system designed by economists, businessmen, and tax experts to help boost the economy.....not distabilize it. It's a really good read, not near as dry as you'd think!

  • Until the IRS is abolished America is not free. The present tax system is not about revenues , it is about control.

It is time to continue the American Revolution and secure our Right to Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

  • Amen!! And the fair tax plan would abolish the current tax system and the IRS along with it!!

  • tax hike mike supporting taxes?

  • OW! The BAD sound quality with all the skips and pops in this video is as irritating as the candidates themselves!

  • Major retailer executive (probably Wall Mart), promised that on the day the Fairtax goes into place they will have a 22% sale on everything in the store.\

(Family of four monthly prebate check $528)

    $100 00 Products

    $ 7.30 Kansas Sales Tax

    $107.30 Total

Under the Fairtax Sale the same amount of products would cost $78.

    $78.00

    $ 5.69 KS Sales Tax

    $23.4 Fairtax Sales Tax

    $107.09 Total

  • Fair tax will not benefit the poor people.

The US Govt (Congress, the president) only pay lip service to the people, then implement programs that benefit corporate, wealthy, themselves.

Show me any program, policy, law or other, that actually benefits the poor over the wealthy, that has not been exploited for the benefit of said elite.

  • If you would actually look into the fair tax, it helps the poor more than the rich. Just a little research is needed.

  • In principle.

How many other programs were supposed to benefit the poor, and looked good in principle, but when implemented, were misused, distorted or amended to allow benefits to the wealthy?

  • #1 reason the fair tax can never be implemented:

Anyone with savings, investments, or wealth of any kind has already paid taxes on that income. Do you expect them to pay taxes again when they spend it under the fair tax?

Will the wealthy, who control our gov't, allow this? I think not.

  • Of course, we should never try to support a bill if the Rich oppose it.

  • And of course, back to the job issue, with fair tax, how many would lose their job?

    IRS employees

    Tax preparers (H&R Block, etc.)

    Accountants, CPA's, Bookkeepers, etc.

  • God Bless Mike Huckabee. Wow 2 weeks ago I did not know who he was and now I'm 100% with him. America needs the Fair tax.

  • The income tax system punishes hard work by confiscating the fruits of our labor while the Fair Tax would punish us for enjoying the fruits of our labor.

I feel our federal government should be doing neither. A small federal government limited by the constitution, prohibited from directly taxing the people, is the legacy the founding fathers have left us. Preserve Liberty, join the Ron Paul Revolution.

  • The Fair Tax is "Alice in Wonderland" thinking. It would be an enforcement disaster. Once sales taxes get above the 12-15% range black markets kick in along with smuggling, piracy, a barter economy, and more organized crime. The current IRS gestapo would have to be much larger for a sales tax.

Lets not forget the internet is connecting economies throughout the world and now you want to lay a tax on all our internet transactions.

  • What a moron you are! There are already embedded taxes in American Products only in America of 15 - 35% now. The Fairtax removes these embedded tax, on average 23 %, and replace them with an inclusive sales tax of 22.9% or exclusive 30%. I would explain the difference between an inclusive and exclusive sales tax, but I be wasting my time.

  • Sorry to correct you, but the FairTax (as outlined in The FairTax Book)would be for 23%. 30% is either bad math or misinformation. (or an honest mistake)

  • Sorry to correct you, and I really meant in a nice way, but the the Fairtax is not an embedded tax. It is an exclusive national retail sales tax of 30%. In order to compare the 30% exclusive sales tax to the embedded taxes (15%-35%) which are currently, right now at the store, this very moment, as I wright, embedded in every product you buy, you must covert the 30% excluse sales tax to an inclusive sales tax, works out to be 22.9%

  • write not wright - I was schooled in government schools.

  • No, you are incorrect.. the embedded taxes ARE NOT just the result of federal income taxes, and they are nowhere near 35% of RETAIL prices. Federal Incomes taxes in no way get anyway NEAR adding even 10% to the retail price of most products... if you think it through you will understand why. So if there were ANY other taxes left at the implemention of an NST, prices would go up. Way up.

  • And do you really, really think most corporate employers will pay the same salaries to entering employees over the long term when their employees get to take more home with no FIT taken out? (hint: not bloody likely)

  • The "Fair Tax" idea is a scam created by the Church of Scientology because they were at war with the IRS for not granting their cult tax exempt status. Google up the facts if you want to read more. OpinionJournal has a recent article that exposes the whole thing.

  • George Washington marched into battle to put down the Whiskey rebellion, which was over a sales taxes on whiskey. Does that mean the George Washington was a member the Church of Scientology? You are in the same league a Rush Limbaugh, 1/2 of your brain at work.

  • LOL! You repugs amuse me. I'll miss you after 2009. You're a dying breed.

  • Great - maybe something will kick start that other side of your brain. Hey, if you read something on the Internet it's got be true - LSTMS.

  • Even if you save money on internet commerce not paying tax. It will only be transferred into the price of the product or will be made up somewhere else where you do pay tax. The government is greedy and they will get their money. You have to look at the larger picture

  • No it won't...

    Go Fair Tax!

    Huckabee for Pres!

  • The government knows that this will be a major increase in taxes and a way to regulate the internet. Right now a person can buy goods and services from the internet tax free. As soon as we allow this the IRS will regulate every website imaginable and will ultimately put websites out of business. It is already hard to compete on the internet when a customer can not see the product. customers will pay tax+shipping+handling. In my eyes this will kill internet commerce. Making Wal-Mart richer.

  • FAIRTAX 2.0++: Retailers MUST only collect FairTax on paper/coin money! ONLY US Banks should charge FairTax when an individual makes an electronic payment, because it is cheaper for THEM to do so than RETAILERS-THEY ARE ALSO A THIRD PARTY TO BOTH BUYER AND SELLER SO THEY WON'T CHEAT. Foreign card holders should be able to buy US products without FairTax! US banks should charge US consumers FairTax for spending in foreign countries! The gov't should NOT tax its own spending! Give BANKS the job!

  • (sigh) Before we can reduce Fed spending, we HAVE to stick in everyone's face every day, all the time, exactly how much that expense is. The FairTax does this. The FairTax is simply "Step #1" toward Ron Paul's dream of reducing federal spending. Patience, young Skywalker.

  • The fair tax is about as transparent as mud. With the income tax, you absolutely know how much you pay each year in taxes. The inclusive 23% sales tax will be hidden from the public eye and the government will be free to tweak it whenever they deem necessary. Can you honestly tell me you know how much gas tax you paid this year off the top of your head?...i think not.

  • It dosen't matter how much tax we pay . What matters is that we don't have to bare our souls to the IRS just keep the fruits of our own labor.

Lets renew the American revolution and secure our rights.

  • The Flat Tax is a terrible idea that will actually increase American's tax burden.

The IRS has capitulated to the facts established at losthorizons dot com that paying individual income tax is voluntary.

Know The Law. Know Your Rights. Don't be fooled by Flat Tax Mumbo Jumbo.

  • CNN had footage...just google this

    "GOP Debate Protesters"

  • FAIR TAX NOW! FAIR TAX NOW!

  • Huckabee for Prez!! Go FairTax!!

  • I LOVE this guy! I hope he continues to gain momentum. I know a few thousand fairtaxers who sure like him after that rally in SC. :)

  • Mike Huckabee is the BEST choice for America!

  • IMO clearly the best choice
