I think what got people going was that Obama's school visit wasn't just a simple visit to A school. It was to be played nationwide. Also the NEA (National Education Association) had a writing assignment to go with it called "What can I do to help President Obama". I believe initially there was a "pledge" students were asked to take as well. There would have been violent protests in the streets if Bush would have tried to do this.

Not that I doubt you, I'd like to read a bit further into it, I haven't heard about it myself and the side of the media I heard was overly supportive of Obama anyway.

goedemorgen! it did happen, however, it was a small right wing nut job minority pushed by fox news crazies. These people have it in their retarded little minds that President Obama is a communist. Sadly, most could not differentiate between commies and socialist and do not realize that america has a limited amount of socialism already. it all comes down to fear and who are putting these crazy ideas in peoples head. Yeah, I noticed the communism theme going around, never qyute git that til I realized that most American are probably as politically minded as the average Dutch person (Liberal people often end up voting for conservatives here). I'm not surprised Fox is hyping the whole thing up either.
