  • Does anyone know how the singer/guitarplayers amplifier is tuned? I guess clean and with delay, but can anyone give it to me more specified?

  • @Janweyns4 neil if using a vox amp but what he's using as FX's is abit of delay with alot of chorus

  • Nice.. but Busted was better!

  • V. GOOD audio and video, just an amazing song with a brilliant performance.

P.S. This song is pretty easy to play on acoustic guitar and sounds great.

  • Really great song. I actually heard the James Blunt version first but Crowded House do it so much better, especially this version.

  • Just saw them at the Tabernacle in Atlanta. Neil Finn and band delivered.

  • Amazing audience...

  • 90-days Onboard MV Kaiji3 Mumbai High Field '93

  • Wow! I forgot how moving this song was. Love songs are tough because love is the #1 topic that is written about. But, every so often a song rises above the fray. Nice job.

  • Fuck it is to much good!

  • @cheatmaster781 it is indeed

  • @cheatmaster781 It is yes, Matt Sherrod.

  • Comment removed

  • @cheatmaster781 Yes it is, Matt Sherrod

  • @cheatmaster781

Yes, that's Matt Sherrod, he drummed for Beck, is officially in Crowded House, and is currently working with John Mayer's old bassist, David LaBruyere on some Sons of Summer stuff during Neil's Pajama Club tour.

  • i was there that night. wat a night!!! john butler played then jack johnson and crowdies came on last. man i couldnt sleep after this

  • Neil Finn is an amazing song writer. His lyrics are so intricate, he truly is a poet. His words transcend time.

  • amazing!!!

  • amazing Neil, we love you!!!!

  • Looks like Neil is making love to a Gibson Les Paul, using some distortion. Could be wrong, it just has that look and sound. He plays this guitar a lot. Bet you could find out from closeups on other videos. It's a beauty, eh? Fitting for the amazing music.

  • @flapjack1228 It's not a Les Paul. It's a Gretsch Duojet or similiar model.

  • chadworthman...Thanks for the correction - good to know. I do not play guitar...keyboards, but have known many guitar players and appreciate the sounds different guitars produce. Know a bit about Gretsch, obviously not enough...whatcha think about Taylors? Just curious...

  • On a side note, anyone know what guitar Neil is using? Sounds a hell of a lot better than mine.

  • gretsch jet.....sweet guitar although his gibson les paul goldtop deluxe is better imo.

  • Nick's falsetto is fucking legendary for someone in their 50's.

  • Oh, I´m over 60 and I could do it..!

  • He's only 51 though

  • It's scary how good Crowded House is. Throughout their entire career they've always managed to put out some amazing classics. Their melodies are fantastic and their sound is so beautifully layered. This song is just something else, truly one of the greatest songs of all time. It really hits you on a visceral level.

  • Totally agree. A close to perfect song. If not entirely. One of the greatest songwriters.

  • genious

  • I was there - it was amazing!!!! :D

  • from 4:00 onwards is a great moment

  • 2:17 always sends a shiver down my spine, awesome.

  • and ecspeciallety when the crowd sings along..

  • ledgends

  • first heard this song on the OC sung by James Blunt, then heard this, and I love it so much! It's great to hear a cover and think "nice song" then hear the original which is incredible.

  • My all time favourite Crowded House song - saw them live a couple of years ago and this was my personal highlight of the show. Great stuff!

  • Does Neil Finn realise how this song nails me to the wall every time I hear it? So brilliant. One of the best songwriters of our time......of any time.

  • So beautiful! CH is the most talented band EVER!!!!!

  • this is beautiful ;D!

  • What a performance. Must have been amazing to have been there.

  • Jebb Live earth 2007 Sydney !

    Awesome band !

  • Neil Finn is the John Lennon of my Genration.

  • Comment removed

  • I am of John Lennon's generation. Neil is a beautifully powerful songwriter with lots of Beatles influence in his music. I am very moved by his songs. John would approve very much! Go Neil.

  • yay im going to see them it is going to be brilliant!!!

  • Neil Finn actually sang this song at Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's wedding. I can see why. Absolutely Beautiful!

  • he thinks it's funny that he sang it at Nicole and Keiths wedding considering it's a song written about having an argument with his own wife ;)

but nonetheless, to me it will always be the most mind blowing Crowded House song to date.

  • best songwriter Neil Finn and best band Crowded House

  • Great performance!

  • It was Sydney 2007 Live Earth I think

  • where was this?

  • I just love this. Great performance!

  • Absolutly amazing performance!

When the crowd sang back it was chilling. Imagine having your own song being sung back like that by so many people. Wish i was there!

  • I've listened to this song a million times, and I can never EVER get sick of the bridge harmonies, and Nick's falsetto on the 'I fall' part is absolutely breath taking!

  • I agree, it gives me shivers as does Neil singing anyday! :D I wish I could see them, they won't come to bloody Brisbane! :D

  • When they played at the Opera house there were road blocks for 8 hours. Everyone in the whole country knew it was a moment to be seen. So I say to you man, next time get the blue bus.

  • love this song

  • ФАНТАСТИКА !

  • which country the concert was?

  • Was at Live Earth sydney. I was there and it was an incredible concert. Crowded house and in particular Niel Finn are unreal!

  • I saw them live in Amsterdam in october 2007, they where GREAT!!! I <3 Crowded House!!!!

  • it was crowded house =)

  • thx m8 :)

  • the best ever Crowded House Neil Finn's voice is like an angel! Not too many his age can still sing like that!

  • Nothing could ever amount to the talent Neil Finn has.

I could watch this over and over and never be bored.

  • too fast, too slow...who cares? It is a version, but perfectly performed.Neil Finn is one of the rarest musician preserving a kind of purity. His voice is so gentle...though a litlle changed, so what, guys?It is STILL his beautiful, soundy voice.

  • Not sure but i think it's a little slow?! One of my fav songs tho.

  • Love this song. Love Crowded House. Thanks for the video!

  • AMAZING !

  • he's playing it with the capo on 3

So his voice has changed, it's not what it used to be...but damn, they're still delivering it perfectly, time and time again, I love CH

  • He always did play it with the capo at the third fret.. if you check other videos you'll see

  • Awesome vid ty for sharing

  • Mark Hart's harmony in the bridge.... my gosh, I can't get over it. so good.

  • i think it's actually Matt Sherrod singing the backing there...

  • it's mark, matt, liam and neil. basically everyone but nick sings the bridge. (nick harmonizes on the "i faaaall" though)

  • I have to agree that yes I feel something is missing, just doesn't feel right without the original drummer.

    I love crowded house

  • THANKS FOR POSTING THIS i love crowded house!

  • haha glad you liked it :D

  • Really moving performance, still sadly incomplete without their drummer...maybe I'm too nostalgic.

  • anyone know where I can get just the audio for this?

    I'm in love with it.

  • I love when the entire crowd sings! Magical!

  • It's a rare occasion these days when a song makes a 31 year old man cry.

this one is enough to bring tears to my eyes...

the sing along is just superb.

I couldnt have said it any better. Peace.

  • It's a rare occasion these days when a song makes a 15 year old cry.

this one is enough to bring tears to my eyes...

the sing along is just superb.

  • I've never heard anything as bad as the James Blunt version... no one can beat Neil Finn at his own work.

  • i am truly glad i have not heard james blunt sing this...he would destroy it beyond belief

  • James Blunt...okay um no. Lets see him write a song that can move so many people?

  • Lovely song, feels like flying every time I listen. And I'm just falling in love with this song more and more every time I hear it.

  • I missed it!

    Very good!

But I prefer the James Blunt version ;)

  • becuz you like people who can't sing?

  • James Blunt can sing better than lot of other singers...maybe you should listen to him before saying he can't sing!

  • James Blunt sings like me when I sing like a mentally challenged person.

  • Hmmm, you've placed a ;) there, but you just don't make such a remark! Blasphemy, that's what that is! ;)

  • Bleh The James Blunt version really sucks..Gay Lord

  • Non capite proprio niente di musica allora...

  • Eh no sei proprio tu che non capisci niente...James Blunt puo' pure cantare bene, ma absolutely no comparison with Crowded House - They are and always will be the absolute best!

    --

I said you don't understand because they insulted James Blunt music, not because they (and you) prefer Crowded to James (It' normal)

  • its to fast

  • I was thinking the same thing... just a touch to fast...

  • Birmingham eh? We were there too on Monday last week - absolutely fab - looked forward to seeing them for years and they were better than ever anticipated - such a brilliant atmosphere.....xx

  • Great performance and powerful song. First time I've heard this band and not my usual type of music but I can still appreciate it.

  • Love the girl waving her videophone back and forth with the crowd -- makes me dizzy just thinking about watching that played back!

  • no problem man :)

    Glad you liked it =)

  • how fucking cool is this band?? i prefer this version to the album purely coz it's alot more moving and gets the point across pure and straight, and the bit at the end gives me SHIVERS its that powerful, hall of fame open the doors for Niel!!!
