I remember watching this Live On Line as it went out, would have Loved to have been there, Esp when the kept playing when the stage lights were turned of at the end
These are my ultimate favorite band and if you ever get to see them live you wont be disappointed they are a superb live act. I too have been a fan since 86 and still am absolutely fantastic
Wow! I forgot how moving this song was. Love songs are tough because love is the #1 topic that is written about. But, every so often a song rises above the fray. Nice job.
Yes, that's Matt Sherrod, he drummed for Beck, is officially in Crowded House, and is currently working with John Mayer's old bassist, David LaBruyere on some Sons of Summer stuff during Neil's Pajama Club tour.
Looks like Neil is making love to a Gibson Les Paul, using some distortion. Could be wrong, it just has that look and sound. He plays this guitar a lot. Bet you could find out from closeups on other videos. It's a beauty, eh? Fitting for the amazing music.
chadworthman...Thanks for the correction - good to know. I do not play guitar...keyboards, but have known many guitar players and appreciate the sounds different guitars produce. Know a bit about Gretsch, obviously not enough...whatcha think about Taylors? Just curious...
It's scary how good Crowded House is. Throughout their entire career they've always managed to put out some amazing classics. Their melodies are fantastic and their sound is so beautifully layered. This song is just something else, truly one of the greatest songs of all time. It really hits you on a visceral level.
first heard this song on the OC sung by James Blunt, then heard this, and I love it so much! It's great to hear a cover and think "nice song" then hear the original which is incredible.
Does Neil Finn realise how this song nails me to the wall every time I hear it? So brilliant. One of the best songwriters of our time......of any time.
I don't know why you people want to "be there". i AM THERE. I just finished watching the sydney opera version of this and 5 times over and beautiful tears over my face.
Look, this crowd is better?, but only cause he asked them to be.
Can I ask you all a question? And please edit your post according like me cause I dont want MoWsad trolls: Where oh where have you been for NINE ELWEVEN TOOTH? You know what I just said? Where? You all broke my heart. DO NOT POST KEY TAGS PLEASE.
I am of John Lennon's generation. Neil is a beautifully powerful songwriter with lots of Beatles influence in his music. I am very moved by his songs. John would approve very much! Go Neil.
I've listened to this song a million times, and I can never EVER get sick of the bridge harmonies, and Nick's falsetto on the 'I fall' part is absolutely breath taking!
When they played at the Opera house there were road blocks for 8 hours. Everyone in the whole country knew it was a moment to be seen. So I say to you man, next time get the blue bus.
too fast, too slow...who cares? It is a version, but perfectly performed.Neil Finn is one of the rarest musician preserving a kind of purity. His voice is so gentle...though a litlle changed, so what, guys?It is STILL his beautiful, soundy voice.
Eh no sei proprio tu che non capisci niente...James Blunt puo' pure cantare bene, ma absolutely no comparison with Crowded House - They are and always will be the absolute best!
Ma io non ho detto che James Blunt è migliore dei Crowded.
