  • I am at the strange part of Youtube yet again.

  • wonderfull....we need more space travel...more and more :-D

  • a la tombée de la nuit quand on voit une espece d'étoile qui brille c'est la station ISS et les changements de brillance c'est la "voilure" des panneaux qui changent de place j'y ai deja assisté et c'est super

  • wait where are the stars??

  • I want to jump to earth from this thing!!!! :OOO

  • You can see the ISS in the sky, if you want to look at it. The orbital times when it is visible is usually listed by your local time by the geeks that actually know about it, like the "experts" who should be stood up because, the "experts" who know about stuff don't know shit, people with no knowledge of what they're looking at always know better. The ISS is actually an alien spaceship coming to take you away.

  • Great video, ISS maintains on-going UFO contacts with various Alien species yet this is maintain classified. Eventually the truth will surface!!!

  • the ISS looks completely different now

  • @trechan yes, new sollar arrays, new labs and other modules were added, but most noticeable thing, that P6 were moved from Z1 to its place...

  • beautiful !!!

  • beautiful !!!

  • You invested billions of dollars building this space station, sow my idea is to recycle the ISS. the first thing you do is you tow it to the moon, and wen you land it you turn it into a hotel or restaurant

  • lol doing that would cost trillions. I hear ya tho

  • I think I just saw this thing this morning. It was seriously astounding. This thing travels at 17,000 mph and it SHOWS. It was amazing, it booked it across all the visible sky in less than 2 minutes.

  • seeing it from earth it looks like a huge star going verry fast

  • i could watch this shit all day long.

the music is nice, but yeah let's hear some metal or something. i'm a fan of 2001 too, but c'mon!

  • In space no body can hear you scream!!! Hope to christ you can't hear that music either, no wonder hal went crazy!!!

  • 100 billion dollars for little

  • Shit reason to cancel ISS.

Congress throwing trillions and we get little.

  • With all the physiological data we acquired about the harmful effects of long-term flight in zeroG from US & Russian spacestations, there is NO excuse to build another zeroG station like ISS. We should have designed/built a station that rotates. It's time to stop treating astronauts like guinea pigs... and to begin taking care of their long term health.

  • Your an idiot lonlakshore. Life isn't liket he movies.

  • I wasn't suggesting that the entire station rotate. NASA has had plans on the drawing boards for decades. ur the idiot.

  • Actually, several concepts of rotating stations have already been designed (look it up on Wikipedia for fastest reference). The rotating station uses the centripetal force to simulate the artificial gravity. I can assure you, it is not from the movies, it is from not-too-long-term research.

  • Should've built a moonbase instead...

  • We can't afford moon base. It cost too much to bring each pound there. Base would have to be strong or even underground. You need heavy machinery.

We can't do both, fight wars and do space right!

  • course we can....China will overtake America as the world's no.1 economy - their money will do wonders for funding a Moonbase!

  • If China gets to be well off, their cost will go up and what then? Everything has its limits, even China.

They are reaping dollars because of their cheap labor now, that's all.

  • dont be such a pessimist

  • Pessimist? Hoping, that China will not be a superpower is optimistic for US. When their labor cost goes up, we should get our lost jobs back.

As far as NASA budget. If we didn't waste our money on War in Iraq and Afghanistan, we could go back to the Moon and build the base, space catapult and large telescope.

    2001 Space Odyssey wasn't just a fantasy.

  • Why can't we build a Frggin Death Star?

  • We did already.

For past 60 years we gave billions to Israel and what did we get back? Iraq!

  • amen brother. The moon deffinetly needs to be our first off world civilization.. There may be nothing of sufficient use as far a resources, but it will certainly give us a much idea of what it takes to settle on other planets.

  • I like to see space catapult, Maglev style, there.

  • we cant cos theres someone already there

  • You must not be American..because if you where you'd know that that idea is irrelivent!

  • untrue,

look up helium 3, found on the moon, china has plans to mine it in 30 years

  • @mccarthy155

    really???

    please tell me

    how?

    and ...hellium for what?

    dollar store bal... never mind

  • they also control the exchange rate between dollars and their currency. they own a lot of our debt. the majority of the country is still poor and agrarian. China is like the US was at the turn of the 20th century.

  • Time will tell. Lot of things are not right.

  • Agreed. China is making profit soley of off parasitcally using there almost inhumane labor regulations to ensure productivity. Now we all look to them as if they are deserved commemoration! We need to fight this degree of subjugation! Not perpetuate it as a country that alleged democracy is it's number one goal. Where are our priorities?

  • I just read something funny. The Chinese are pissed of, that all the things they make for us are not their inventions.

They didn't invent a simple lightbulb, nor computer and many other things. Even the gunpowder, that is theirs, did not get past a firecracker. Long time ago advanced civilization and now they just play catch up.

  • denying the iss is not real is like saying there is no moon. it is all a hoax. The moon is real and we can see it. Same as the iss! People are living there 24/7. Some people are so stupid!

  • @joachim2464

Don't waste your fingertips, dood. You can't fix stupid.

  • This music illustrate that they are doing stuff I don't like.Watch play-actor

    Garrett Reisman.

  • i was just wondering: how great must be, sex in

    microgravity! [Oh my GOD!!]

    just immagine..;)

    just... immagine...

  • Horribly hard.

  • lol spearm everywhere in your shuttle :)

  • they use this music in the opening space sequence of 2001, a space odyssey.

  • Im going on the ISS in two weeks, cant wait. Wish me luck! Godspeed.

  • Really like the 2001 Space Odessy docking sequence tribute. It's slow, but that's the nature of the piece.

  • how can so many people interested in science be so stupid lol. its exactly what they say it is and nothing more. bunch of paranoid felchers ... i loves yah tho xxx

  • we nedd about 100 of those space stations...this is just the beggining..

  • no, what we need is aircraft carrier sized battlecruisers in space

  • Lets hope the US can aford to get the ISS finished by the time they retire the Shuttle in 2010 so the Russians can take full advantage of the 100 Billion dollar ISS. The Russians may even be kind enough to take US astronauts to it between 2010 and 2015 if the US shuts up about Georgia.

  • it is a military base

  • Good one rodneyjohnwoods ! Lets all give up our lifestyle and science just because some people are worse off. Lets feel sorry for those who decided to ruin their lives through laziness, drugs bad decisions etc. Lets feel sorry for backward nations who decided to wage war on each other and give up everything for weapons to kill each other. Lets all live in caves so we are all equal ! You sir should lead the way, just pick the best cave you can find and crawl right in ! All problems solved right ?

  • how fucking dare you, you are a fucking prick, you fucking wanker

  • I know! Silly people and their scientific advancements. Who would want that?! I wish I could go back to when blood-letting was the supposed cure of most diseases, who needs laboratories and science?! Pricks.

  • Okay, sit back and think for a minute, If the money that all the nations are supposedly wasting on this project didn't go into building the I.S.S do you really think the money would be all put into hospitals, schools, and vacinations for diseases in poor countries...

Yes of course there is alot of problems in the world that need more attention, but more than likely all that money would be put to more sinister projects of military purposes in every country that contributed to this project...

  • I wish I was 100 years in the future...

  • And than come back and play the lotory

  • looking good :)

  • I would love a chance to be up there someday.....too bad I don't have 25 million dollars on hand :/

  • or u can do what im doing...do good in school go to a great collage join the airforce for 4 years become an expirenced piolt or be an astronomer and join the nasa program and u can go if ur smart

  • UUGHH,, I rather pay 25 million dollars...

    It seems so much easier...

    :P

  • how.........the fuck........can you POSSIBLY deny the existence of the international space station?

how is NASA full of shit?!?!

what have they "hid" from you?

or, are you just another crazy conspirator?! you probably think they are hiding aliens!

  • I "believe" in ISS. Why? Because I can see it :D

  • You can look at it with binoculars!

  • FUCKING AWESOME!!!!!!!!

  • This video is not clear and too small; it should be at least at 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768 resolution (or at 2048 x 1024 resolution ideally).

Too bad it's when the earth is cloudy: could not see where the ISS was flying over.

The music is quite good otherwise; like in the movie "2001: A Space Odyssey".

  • The music is "An der schönen blauen Donau" by Johann Strauss the Younger.

Or "The Blue Danube" in english :)

  • That music is great.

They should use it in a movie or something.

    LOL

  • stupid, it´s normal vienna walzer..it´s used in lots of movies

  • ok then tell us pls, in which movies ?

  • Space Odysee, for example :D

  • No its not.

    You lie.

    Why you lie?

    Me not stupid.

    You stupid.

    Stooopid i tells ya!

  • i think i know it better!!!...its an coincidence that i am austrian and so i think i know this music. ok, for example in nearly every movie where actors are dancing a walzer. to answere your original question: it was written by johann strauß, now stfu!!

  • it or a very similar tune was used in the movie space odyssey 2000 in the same context as here.

  • this music is good, is good , is good, i like it alot, alot, alot

i like it alot alot. LOL

  • This is pretty old. The station has greatly expanded since then, with that top panel now on one side, the other wing added to the other, as well as the additions of the Node and Columbus, with JEM now on its way up. Remarkable international cooperation here. We all should be proud of this!

  • sweet reply man.

  • wow that things going pretty fast!

  • yeah, somethin like 30,000 mph.

  • faster than yo MUMMA

  • Johann Strauss - Blue danube waltz

Johann Strauss I (German: Johann Strauß) born in Vienna, (March 14, 1804 -- September 25, 1849) was an Austrian Romantic composer known particularly for his waltzes.

I recommend for everybody who like this music that write his name in the youtube Search. You can find fantastic tracks like this.

    He's my favourite composer :)

    regards from Hungary

  • hey i think i can see my house from here

  • what's the music? I love it

  • Creo que es el Vals "Danubio Azul" "blue Danubio" de Johann Strauss.

  • english please, My french isn't so good as it should be

  • It`s "danubio azul" or "blue danubio" by Johann Strauss. It´s in the movie "2001 Space Oddisay" by Artur C. Clark an Stanley Kubrik.

  • I found it already, accidentely, when I was downloading the most cool classical music, but thanks. anyway.

  • Been Watching the space station all week passing over head. There a great chart on there web page, tells you when.

Well worth looking out for, Man that sucker goes. looked bright tonight passing under the Moon and it was 2mins one...

  • i saw here 15 minutes ago from my balkony was cool!

  • when it will be finished???

  • 2010

  • Kind of funny that's the year this thing is supposed to be completed. ... I wonder if they planned that haha.

  • Great Cruise

  • drail, that`s ocean and clouds

  • great vid. iss is flying 8 km/sec.

  • is that the oceacn down there or something else?

  • Soo Coool!!!

  • AS I sit here and view this clip a few reflections arise while BEING AWED If the circuference of the EARTH is circa 24,000 miles and the ISS Orbits 6 times round the Earthh IT IS Orbiing 6,000 mph The crew observe 6 sun rises and 6 sunsets The STATS are BEYOND BELIEF

  • What's the camera attached to??!

  • I want this as my screensaver!

  • Is the music by Mozart?

  • Strauss, he was big on waltz.

    one two three

    one two three

    one two three

  • definatally sped up

  • Well I guess Stanley, got the shape of the space station wrong, but it's a site to see passing over Bournemouth, on clear nights, at a speed of 17.500MPH 210 miles up! The music is perfect! The view is from the space shuttle no doubt. Look at how clear images are below! "That's no moon, it's a space station".

  • greatings bournemouth you tuber! the view is the same here in ringwood!!"ive got a bad feeling about this" "turn the ship around" "yeh i think your right"

  • Yes, the Music,I think, is by Mozart, is such a great piece of music. I think the title is "symphony 21".

  • no no Strauss did this one.

  • oh sorry I didn't read the name. Didn't mean to respond twice.

  • This is great. It reminds of 2001 A Space Odessey. Do more of these if you can. Please.

  • Thats exactly what I thought about when I saw this. Kubrick was brilliant.

  • i was looking at a satellite then this satellite zooms past

  • That sucked!

  • why?

  • who filmed it? LOL

  • It was filmed from a space shuttle, which did a fly-around - a loop - around the station, after undocking, and before reentry.

  • it looks like its moving so slow, but it's really so fast! It's weird!

  • The music adds so much here!

    I LIKE IT!

  • HEPHEPHOORAY!!

No me jodas hombre xDD.

  • Ei, la URSS no podia comprobarlo. Ahora esta la Kayuga en la luna haciendo fotos ¿Estaria bien la de la base del la cap Ap.11 y la banderita,no? A que no la traen...

  • Delicious. Nice recording of the Blue Danube Waltz too, if a little cliché.

  • the first cosmonauta astronauta wos laikka mi love to laika lika wos the stard of all

  • sugoi ne!!! Dr. Sheikh hebat!!!

  • LaIkKA

  • Dr Sheikh Muzaffar, the first Malaysian in the ISS.Malaysia Boleh !

  • Wow!!... so amaze.. mcm star wars pulak saya tengok.. begitu indahnya ciptaan tuhan yang maha esa..

  • I'll take one.

  • I wish we had a under-view looking up at ISS to see what else is flying up there.

  • >takkkkkken!!

    >tranquility at 17,240 miles per hour

  • two tickets to mars plzzzzzzz!!

  • Ah yes, the automated docking computer is working... why is there no docking? I wanna park my Viper yo!!

    =D

  • greate vid and music!

  • Great. The real "2001 - A Space Odyssey"! ;-)

  • Absolutely.

By the way - they're planning on doing another fly-around today.

  • iss and atlantis just passed over my house, it was beautiful

  • I wish I'd seen that !

  • yea i think it was only visible in a select swath of cities, luckily for me detroit was one of them, so cool when you catch the ISS, its like wow, why is that star racing accross the sky (terrible light pollution here), but las tnight was especially cool, with atlantis an the ISS moving in tandem, wish i had a tracking scope...

  • Nice to see the cloud formation, and how extremely machinelike and sturdy the camera travels. An almost sacral and meditative study :)

  • For most of the time the camera was fixed and the attitude was controlled by the thrusters on Atlantis :)

  • hi what program are u using for the clips? pls

  • NASA television. Avalible on cable or satellite providers.

  • I'm based in the UK so I have to use the NASA TV internet feed (on the NASA web site).

  • very smooth! beautiful...

  • Yea , you know I am an amateur space lover and I think its very hard for me and maybe never can go there but these kinds of videos accompany with real discriptions ,like hers', created a new sense about universe for many like me.Thanks again

  • awesome ! very nice view and completed a part of my imagination from Anoushehs' blog ,Thanks.

  • Aah. Its the link from Anoushehs' blog thats getting all the views on my Soyuz vids ! I liked the blog - its good to get so much detail from the Astronaut's point of view.

  • Very nice, Bruno -- this will be sure to make Anousheh space-homesick

and thanks for capturing the Soyuz TMA-8 Expedition 13/Ansari re-entry -- pretty hot vacation video!

  • All the interest in Anousheh and the Soyuz flights caught me by suprise ! I better keep up the coverage.

  • We were headed out the door to go to church when the shuttle was doing this. Saw the first part of it, but missed most of the latter part.

  • The first half was the best, with the Earth in the background. I caught a glimpse of Atlantis' path on the control room screen - it was a pretty good circle.

  • Yeah, we hadn't left yet. The shuttle was just coming over the top of the station as we had to leave. I caught some of the replay thru Flight Day Highlights.

  • Nice one, I missed the NASA coverage over the weekend, so it's good to see this - thanx!

  • My pleasure. This was an experiment in using video editing tools. I've been following the mission live on NASA TV. Fingers crossed for tomorrow's landing.
