The debate is pointless, all three infected work best together. Many people/teams just attack as soon as they spawn, smoker is used to slow down and distract them so the boomer can mess them up and hunters rip them apart. Anyone of these units suck solo, esp with the instant kills being fixed or needing a hunter to assist.

And to add on that the hunters pounce damage is great when you learn how to use it. It's pretty easy to jumpoff a building onto a group a survivors only if they don't spit you and shot you down.

I think they're both great but smokers leave a trail of smoke behind which sucks and do less damage then a hunter would. They are great for instant kills but most on the xbox version are patched now. I love hunters tho forthe face that they're silent and swift and if you know how to wall jump of a wall you wouldn't need to crouch and wait with the grow they make. Overall in most parts of l4d hunters are my most preferred but that's just me I guess.

Hunter make faste kills yeah, but Hunter must on them also the Survivor can better kill him. And Hunter can only Kill steal by Smoker, because than they becomes finally kills.

Smoker can Grab than on distance, can pull tham over cliffs and dont need kill steal to make a kill. And Smokers offen have a habit of attacking in the most horrible and annoing situations where survivor can be. In helicopters, boats and elevators ^^

I like the Smoker more than the Hunter because the survivors tend to huddle together, and it's very difficult to pounce one of them and do significant damage without some help, such as Boomer bile or a Tank. You need to hope one of them seperates from the group, with doesn't always happen.

Also, with a Smoker you can get an instant kill even if they're completely undamaged. Hunters cannot. It's impossible for a Hunter to get an instant kill against an undamaged survivor.

You dont have that problem with the other infected. Jockeys can lead a survivor away from th pack and kill him, hunter can kill survivors that are left behind or if a horde distracts them.

chargers can severly damage multiple survivors at once and usually tkae them down.

Btw, i love hunters more, im new to the game i tell you that. But even if a manage to get a survivor, the person im attacking must be within eyesight for me to get him. But once i caught one i cant take a step aside to hide behind a wall or something.

Kinda pointless as no matter at which spot i catch a survivor as a smoker, the other survivors can always spot and shoot me and I cant run away from my attack as a infected.

So far, the only proper use ive had as a smoker was catching a survivor

Why does the crosshair not lightup or something when the survivor is within your radius of attack.

Sometimes m trying to use the smokers main attack, then i seem to be to far away and have to wait 20seconds for the main attack to reload.

What I hate though is when my teammates try to attack my target when I am the tank.

Do that and you're just gonna end up falcon punched off the map, attack and pin someone else that I am not currently attacking.

I got kicked once because I killed a teammate when he tried to pounce my target I was chasing and ended up getting punched and killed.

He just came out of nowhere and landed on my target, but the tank was already winding up a punch when he came in and could not stop it.

None of the infected suck, they do poorly when they work by themselves.

Just as how it takes the survivors teamwork to beat the level, it takes teamwork from the special infected to down the survivors.

Just lunging at them one at a time is going to do nothing, but when you combine the infected together and coordinate your attacks, they are really effective.

The winning team is the one that is better at working together, and having great teamwork and coordination.

Hunters have the ability to leap great distances, scale buildings, and inflict initial damage to a survivor.  Plus once you have a survivor you wont stop until your dead or the survivor is dead. The hunter is also the only one silent when neutral position. A smokers only advantage is its long range tongue. Even if you can get a survivor, they have a chance to kill you or push you back even when you snare them. I am only saying my opinion when i say that hunters are much better than smokers.

It's just cool, to have a tounge that long. I mean, I have trouble tracking down Smokers (before my teammates do anyway) sometimes, but Hunters jump right up to your gun barrel. Plus its horrifying to be dragged away like that.
