you are right, they're dimarzio HS3 in the bridge and his signature dimarzio yjm in middle and neck.. Also Vai is a TOTALLY different style so you really cant compare the two except when Vai took over for Malmsteen in Alcatrazz, then you see the BIG difference in style as Vai just cant fill the shoes left by Yngwie.

It wouldn't make a difference. Action is measured from fret, not wood.
But if you look at his guitars if you see him live up close, you can tell that the action is pretty high.

The song is called "See You In Hell (Dont Be Late)" off of the Eclipse CD, great album and awesome song. Also Vai is a TOTALLY different style so you really cant compare the two except when Vai took over for Malmsteen in Alcatrazz, then you see the BIG difference in style as Vai just cant fill the shoes left by Yngwie.
