  • I need tabs, bad.

  • This was revolutionary and inspiring in it's time.

  • Paul Gilbert is better.

  • @ohgoditsjames94 I like Paul Gilbert, but in terms of technical skill Malmsteen would wipe the floor with him. (I still think Gilbert's a better musician though.)

  • @cruelzeppelin666 i think its the other way round xD i think pg is the better guitar player but malmsteen wrote the better music. in terms of taste at least. i dont like paul gilberts music style. its just so casual. when you hear malmsteen you feel that he wanted to create something big

  • there's too many clicks in his playing.. very dirty sounding. in a bad way.

  • Yeeeeeessssssss very very nice !!!!!

  • Listen to the phrasing at 1:03 - 1:06

    It's magic!!!

  • For me,Yngwie is the best guitarist ever. There is no Yngwie song that I don't like. He's a very gifted man and he definitely knows what he's doing.

    Cheers

  • Yngwie is a great musician, just not a great teacher.

  • @RSsipthis This is not the lesson. The lesson package is a book with the tabulatur and this video. Works excellent!

  • I'm a tremendous Yngwie fan,having said that,it's a shame he only

uses the cream strats with the maple necks now. That gold strat

is so cool. I feel the last really good album Yngwie released was

"Fire and Ice". The fact that album was released during the height

    of grunge(1991) did'nt help.

  • saying yngwie has no feeling is just justifying the fact that the guitarists you like arent nearly as good.

  • @Buyakaasha lol, also... thats the most common thing a guitarist who faced the fact that he was gunna have to lay down sum effort to become anything near that good n gave up could say... lazy fuckers xD

  • Hail to the Master!

  • @HighPriest05 i won't hail to the Yngwie but he is top notch that's the fact.

  • hard rock elevator music -

  • legend

  • And the funny thing is everyone trying to do a cover on this particular song...Fails...is it too hard on guitar?i am clueless

  • can someone tell me how can i get the backing track of this amazing song?

  • its called a scalloped neck

  • thats just rediculous. he expects us to "learn" from him. lol.

Yngwie:heres the riff (plays rediculous riff), ok now you try

Us: OMG i think im blind! o jesus you brought my sight back your insane.

  • awesome

  • i didnt know he used a carved neck

  • u meaned scalloped right?

  • this is yngwie when he was good.

  • He still is good, he recently released an acoustic album

  • @ShoutFireAtAFuneral did you jusr wrote" still good"? give me a break... i can copy a Yngwie but can't duplicate it or make his original music. Yngwie forever!!! Bro!!

  • james, are you implying that yngwie malmsteen cant drive?

  • oooooollie is right. The name of the song is See you in Hell (Don't be late) from the Eclipse Album.

  • This little song, is this an excerpt from a sang on an album, or did he just make it for this instructional video?

  • see you in hell - yngwie malmsteen

  • DAmn the best....no doubt about that

  • yngwie himself said that he has high action because you get more sustain that way. He has said it in multiple interviews.

  • then you dont know nothing about guitarplayers.. For an example; all the guitarists in Iron Maiden play with a high string action. So did SRV and countless others. Yngwie plays with a high string action and enormous jumbo 6000 dunlop frets.

  • @YZ250GYTR uhm dude... i do it... all ya gota do is to use light guage strings, easier to maintain than a low action :P

  • what does high actio/n mean

  • the guitars strings are set high from the fretboard

  • he could be saying he uses high action because his neck is scalloped

  • It wouldn't make a difference. Action is measured from fret, not wood.

But if you look at his guitars if you see him live up close, you can tell that the action is pretty high.

  • hes showed pictures of his guitar neck from a side view, you can see how incredibly high the action is. he likes it high because the guitar is louder unplugged and because he gets more sustain. he said in an interview "the higher my action is the more sustain I get so ultimately im just going too keep raising my action" something like that it was in guitar world augaust 08

  • He does use high action, thats what he says and I dont think he lies. Since he can shred with an acoustic, a high action shouldn't be a problem

  • this piece has the PHRASING!

  • Who cares what you think? You surf you tube. Yngwie has banged more women, has more money, can play better than you knows more than you and is better looking than you. He could prolly kick your ass too. Now what?

  • Yesss!

    You are awesome my friend

    :D

  • lol, damn right!

  • hes kinda ugly right now..

  • @mrkalamaris no problem.

  • yo,methinks yngwie uses really high action,-we're talking 6-7mm between wood and wire.Tunes to eflat, uses swamp ash, uses predominately maple fingerboards, and single coil pick-ups,to strive for that fat violin tone..

  • ive heard else where that his pickups are humbuckers in a single coil case. dont know how that works, but it sounds kinda cool.

  • Hm... that's actually possible, maybe like a SD hot rails or something. And I don't think he uses high action. That would be extremely hard.

  • i hate high action

  • He does use very high action. He has said so many times.

  • He uses very high action. It's not THAT hard to play with, it just takes some getting used to.

  • you are right, they're dimarzio HS3 in the bridge and his signature dimarzio yjm in middle and neck.. The coils are stacked on top of each other instead of side by side like regular humbuckers and seymour duncan hot rails, jbjrs and the like. THats why they look just like a single coil.. but they are a bit taller than a regular singlecoil nonetheless

  • In this era he used HS3 in neck and bridge postion

    Alot of people forget that

  • Yes that is correct, i forgot that he didn't get his signature model later.. the yjm is practically identical to the HS3, but it has a vintage magnet stagger for a more "vintage tone" compared to the HS3..

  • Fuck,I could'nt spell with all that adrenalin pumping through..It is no doubt, Yngwie's work in the earlier years is inspirational.

  • fuck,- forgot the r .. This piece has got the rythmn, gots the tone ,gots the violin technique, his phrasing is right otta heifitz's pocket....octave bends, vibrato, arpeggios a la'Niccolo, heart poundin ..groovve The good old days !

  • I fucking agree with everything you just said. this excerpt is absolutely great...

  • Adreeeeeeeeline!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah!!!

  • Like the Best....Guitarist..On the planet ? ? ? :D

  • maybe, but all players have some thing that makes to the player unique. yngwie has much style in his sound, so dont compare, is not about the best, only about music, and it is music, so?..

  • It depends on what you consider better. MAB is obviously the most technically skilled, but he's like a parlor trick to me. He sounds like a robot. Yngwie's music has passion!

  • malmsteen is masterful in the REH video. Shame that his stuff is so lame and boring now....

  • Yeah he lost a lot of his style over the years. He's become a bit of a superficial copy of himself.

  • yngwie's style is unique!

  • yeah im yngwie it`s my idolo yeahhh

  • Yngwie has his action high, his strings off the fretboard pretty high, I think he said because he has more control or something like that...

Normally I would just keep my action low, easier on my hands.

  • helps the vibrato he said

  • high action and scalloped frets does that, easier vibrato, but it is harder to play fast.

  • better vibrato, not easier

  • ahh, ok cool

  • Imagine how amazing the action on that Strat must be... :o

  • I dont know, i really like some of malmsteens songs but it just seems like his music never grew, never changed.

  • Well that goes for almost any artist.

And it might be because they have found their thing. AC/DC still doing the same thing, Iron Maide too and the list goes on and on. I dont hear people talking about that as a negative thing, but with Yngwie alot of people use it as a stick to beat him with.

  • Amen, Im so sick of the same regurgitated negative crap about Yngwie.

  • I think never changing and coming up with more music within the style i liked him for in the first place is just about the best thing he could have done! So many bands/artists have changed over time...and well, its just 'different' and with that they lose as much as they gain...im glad yngwie has kept much of his style =]

  • what is the name of this song??

  • It's an instrumental version of "See You in Hell (Don`t Be Late)" from the Eclipse album.

  • if you haven't seen him live before you die you need to he is even better i seen him twice once with ac/dc in the early 80's and at a place called rafters here in SLC utah he still is a genuis

  • And if u say tha he has no feeling...U must be mentally ill...Cheers Malmsteen

  • True, those who don't have the musical IQ to follow and find the music in his playing can always listen to achy braky heart for a melody more compatible with their brainspeed. lol

  • ha ha ha right on!

  • @McbrainisgoD

yngwie dosn't care . He is knows he is the one of the best of the best. rest are playing or crying....lol

  • I rly cry inside when i see this one...It is perfect and 10 times better than the original See You In Hell....*i mean the solo* IT RULEZ!! Yngwie ... GOROCKTHEMALL!

  • erm..wtf..THAT WAS INSANE!! i think this versoin sounds btter than his actual ong LOL..he should have made this the solo instead of the original 1...much better

  • yeah Yngwie is much better when he improvise his pieces.

I don't know how to explain, solos and songs seems much more "fluid" in someway.

  • i know...they have a much more flui look...its almost like h already knew that hes gotta play this....he makes it look so easy..DAMN!

  • well to him it probably is easy lol

  • Paganini was around in the classical period but he was mostly of the romantic era.

  • I love this intro mother fuckers, YNGWIE FTW

    greatings from venezuela!!!

  • a few years back i was OBSESSED with the riff at 0:25, mean as fuck!

  • i'm still obsessed with it!

  • LOL

  • The main riff right at the end is so damn awesome! Its has that mean bite like the riff after the solo in "Diciples of Hell" its a simple riff but its so mean and growling. Yngwie owns all!!

  • this version of this songs owns...ITS AMAZING SOUND...can sumone tab this out pls..THIS EXACT VERSION??

  • this video is awesome..i want this one..to bad u cant download from youtube :D

  • sad how we waste our energy when all our days are blue. we're 2 of a kind me and you, i guess that ill see you in hell!!

  • i really lovee this song and eclipse disc. Now i want to listen them because your comment reminds me that i have not listented "see you in hell" for a long time (don't be late)

  • yes he is, u fuckin dumbass. dont be talking to those guys like that when YOU dont even know what the fuck ur talking about. read any interview of yngwie stating his influences and youll see he says hendrix, bach, paganini and rhoads. hell, even look up randy's 20th anniversary on youtube and youll see yngwie there.

you clearly do not deserve a computer. at least take yng out of ur name, for fucks sake.

  • He never mentioned Rhoads as an influence. His style was long forged before he ever heard of him. He nerve heard of Rhoads until after he was dead.

  • dont be so assuming, its not as if your yngwies close friend. How the hell do you come up with something like that?

  • This is well known to anyone who studied Yngwie. At the age of 9 or 10 he immersed himself into Baroque classical such as Paganini, Bach, Vivaldi and Mozart. You can hear the influence. He has explained his formative years many times.

  • yeah, but i think that yngwie may have heard or randy before his death- i mean why wouldnt he; randy was more well known, more respected and was the guitarist for ozzy

  • Yeah he probably did. But considering what Yngwie had already accumulated from the source of classical music, I doubt he borrowed ideas from Randy. They didn't sound anything alike.

  • paganini wasnt baroque, the baroque period was between 1600 and 1750 roughly. paganini was at the classical/romantic period

  • what the fuck are you talking about. randy is not an influence of yngwie. think before you type

  • Go Yngwie!

Randy is one of my favorites butI would say that there is more Ritchie Blackmoore than Randy in Yngwie's playing.

  • to me Randy rhoads is the greatest guitar player that ever lived but it there was no randy there wouldent be any malmsteen but over all they are both great guitarists!!!!

  • that's right Randy is my favourite guitarist without randy (and malmsteen) there would no Rock n' Roll dude!Rock on

  • Forgetting other great musicians such as all the guys from Maiden...

  • You´re crazy! Why is so many saying it is the "See you in hell" song that this comes from? IT IS NOT! Well maybe the guitar stuff except vocals, but I was actually looking for only the guitars

  • YOU are crazy. That's an instrumental interpretation of See you in hell, everybody can see this.

  • Yngwie is the best

  • Whoever says malmsteen plays with no emotion, please watch this video 100 times until your little brains comprehend that he does in fact play with emotion. Thank You!

  • Hence the blank face!! LOL, you know he taught God to play guitar.

  • randy rhoads is one of the greatest guitarists in history and malmsteen too

I think randy is a part of malmsteen ;)

    Malmsteen is a great guitarist

  • malmsteen is part randy.. randy was way before malmsteen and so was uil roth n ritchie blackmore

  • The overall progression and structure in this is just beautiful.

  • What this guy says to me is = "What the hell else is there to do in Sweden?"

  • Malmsteen, very cool exurpt, this was when he was getting past his PUP stage, he has blossomed into a great guitarist, I was behind his stacks at a sound check with Rudy Sarzo playing bass that day, he covered a Randy Rhoads tune that brought Randys ghost right back into THAT room, anyone that says he sucks, blows Cantrell!...lol...HAA< friggin idiot commentary by complete LOSERS! You must blow Curt Cobain too huh buddy!

  • The song is called "See You In Hell (Dont Be Late)" off of the Eclipse CD, great album and awesome song. Also Vai is a TOTALLY different style so you really cant compare the two except when Vai took over for Malmsteen in Alcatrazz, then you see the BIG difference in style as Vai just cant fill the shoes left by Yngwie.

  • This guy sucks. Jerry Cantrell is a million times better a guitar player than this guy. Got better hair, too.

  • How can you say Malmsteen sucks?? Question is WHY does your brain "decide" to say that?? Ask yourelf this question, as we laugh at your lobotomy, they did a terrible surgery, go blow Cantrell!

  • If you like this guy you'll love the old world Stravinsky. Both technicians of their art.

  • he's tight. i like his lines. they're not boring.

  • goodasvanhalen

  • Yngwie kickass at neo classical man dont burn him. He's a speed guitarist if you dont like him. Dont watch him . I dont think hes the best but he can sure shred.

  • "how boring" wow... you gotta really appreciate guitar to find this amazing then i guess

  • Master!!!!

  • Best guitarist ever.

  • Awesome playing. Yngwie is UNDERrated!

  • how boring

  • Ok then, if you think hes so "boring" than stop fucking searching his name on youtube and watching his videos?

  • youre a shithed.

  • as Stonefalcon said is "See you in Hell (don't be late)"

  • yeah. i know. thanks. when i posted the comment i dont red the message:P

  • np man

  • In my opinion, this golden guitar is the most gorgeous one of Yngwie... It suits the (perhaps rosewood) fretboard so well.

  • you know the name of this music?

  • Neo Classical Rock..

  • correction: maple neck.

  • Yeah, thx.. I always confuse which is maple and which is rosewood...that's why I said "perhaps rosewood" :)

  • its a maple fretboard lol

  • Yngwie is God!!! fuck off with whoever is not agree with me

  • no one does the classical arp thang' like Yng. ROCK ON!

  • well the reason is what song is from and what kind noise is that is it wah or normal well what ever

  • The break at 37 seconds in... WOW.

  • the riff he plays in the last 10 seconds is awesome :D yngwie rocks

  • whats the real name of the music that he plays in this intro? the music is nice!

  • The songs called "See you in Hell (Don't be late)" from the album "eclipse" I think...not sure (the album, I mean)..

  • adolf hitler died in argentina...with so many other important nazi...( a lot of suckers) so dont give your shit of hitler here..his no god..he died in a farm old adn nasty...dont fuck..

  • TOO good. know if it has ever been tabbed?

  • psh Steve Vai is so much better

  • Close ur ass "aznteriyakichef"....U cant speak of vay and Malmsteen at same time...they are diferent styles lol...lear about music first...to estupid to compare 2 gods of guitar

  • I love this solo, i want it tabbed, i love the 3 chords into the start

    Ry xxx

  • i really hate how he dresses -.- also he is tooooo good lol to the point that you wanna break one of his fingers and laugh

  • well thats about the weirdest thing herd in a while

  • this fuck need to learn guitar before posting a vid shit dumbass

  • What does that mean in english?!

  • Wtf does that mean anyway! if your talking about yngwie hah he is a amazing guitarist!

  • implying that can do better... So lets see it.

  • Are you tlaking about yngiwe malmsteen one of the greatest neo classical guitarists ever? casue if you are your a retard!!!!!!
