I love his whistle voice thing!! P.S. Only a vocalist who knows their stuff would understand that. If you've ever heard of Brett Manning's Singing Success you should know it.
@elcochon Well Jeff better release another album cause he is no longer the biggest name on merge (by album sales not opinion). God I miss NMH so much.
Lol people will always argue about stupid shit till the end of time there are a lot of people out there that either don't understand or are just out there to argue, people need to just get over that people are stupid, there is no need at all to compare bands to bands, to each their own, to me Music is a feeling it doesn't matter how fast or how slow, or how many members their are, or what instruments they use...if it connects with you in a feeling its good music. stop bitching and enjoy :)
I've loved this song for the last 6 years...and sorry but i hate all these new fans who only like the song bc of Where the wld things are...it's great you like the music but listen to more of it....sorry to sound like a hipster fuck just Arcade Fire has been my favorite band since 5th grade so yeah
@SilentEcho33: Yeah, this comment does reek of a little bit of hipster fuckery. It's only natural, though. We all love bands when they blow our minds and only ten people seem to have heard of them.
Then they're headlining Lollapolooza and you're wondering why suddenly everyone loves the band. You liked it better when you felt like YOU owned them, when really we should just all be glad to see such talented performers get their due. I went through this with the White Stripes 9 years ago.
@ogredm Well not even that, it just bothers that the WRONG people are starting to get into....they've always been big and i was like 6 or 7 when the first white stripes record came out
@SilentEcho33: So... wait... Arcade Fire (or the White Stripes or [insert indie band that made it huge here], etc.) is simply too good for some people? I don't dig that. Elitism doesn't do it for me. In my book, music that brings people together is ALWAYS a good thing.
You don't want your favorite bands to increase their fan base?
Shows keep bands alive. Bands don't make money off of cds. They make it due to packing places with people that love them in some musical, artistic way. Don't make decisions on who shouldn't be enjoying music. Or else you are wishing for your favorite bands to no longer exist. Don't be selfish. Please.
They've completely and utterly captured my soul with their music. It soothes my heart. They are fucking magnificient. I dont know how else to describe them. Every time i listen to them i love them even more.
@PullingOut They do capture ones soul dont they?! Great feeling put into the sound, lyrics and rhythm. This is the third song i´ve listened from them, and they have captured me. Cheers for this great band full of sensations!!
Theyre equally as awesome, but AF strive for something more anthemic, while Bright Eyes is just a bit more general in its goal(from mysticism to country,Bright Eyes/Conor play it).Still, both great bands

This cut shows off the monumental composition of the entire group rather than the groove focus of so many of the other versions.

This is by far the best version of this song I've heard. Absolutely no need for a massive festival audience or David fucking Bowie.
wiyam 1 year ago 4
@wiyam calm the fuck down....what if they really like Bowie? like Bowie didn't bring new sounds into his music or write some genuinely good songs
carnagegerman 9 months ago
@carnagegerman Why do I need to calm down? Also, I didn't say anything bad about Bowie. Just that this song doesn't need him.
wiyam 9 months ago
@wiyam alright then...but this song sure does feel good to hear at a festival.....a car ride....anywhere..
carnagegerman 9 months ago
@carnagegerman I don't disagree.

Bob Dylan anyone?
tkokotovich 2 years ago
Bob Dylan didn't play a chromatic harmonica, nor did he invent the harmonica holder.

no one said he invented it, it just wasnt too popular until he started wearing it lol

Easily one of their best songs so far......I'd love to see them preform this song in this manner at a small club, that'd be really cool

I love this band. They put their heart and soul into their music, and it shows in their performances. They work so hard and they are talented.
I love the violin. It adds another layer of musical dimension that is wonderful to listen to.
Keep making good music!!!!

I think we can all tell that Wins voice was pretty rough. He was ill at this particular show yet still sang the whole set.
