I fuckin love this sound and this kind of blues-rock playin...what kind of amp is he usin?any ideas? I don't think this sound comes only from the pedal :)
you kno i bought this thing off ebay, being navie, all i did was watch similer vids to this and read a few positive reviews. well, Iv always wanted a Deluxe reverb, but yea, they cost too much, so i was hoping this pedal would at least satisfy my desire. All i have to say is that im very disapointed, and im out a 100 bucks. And i hope that everyone out can learn from my mistake and TRY it b4 you buy it...
I just watched this after leaving the Johnny DeMarco clip. I'm relieved! This sounds good. Does anyone know if this or the FBM can connect to a digial keyboard like, say, a Nord electro?
guys, I've got a free 1983 marshall bass combo amp, and since I have no money to buy a tube amp, which you basically have to have if you play the blues ;), so I was wondering if this pedal would help me to get that warmer "tube-ier" sound... i know it's virtually impossible to gt a tube sound from a solid state, but considering this pedal's only about 80 pounds... about 920 pounds cheaper than a reasonable tube amp ;) Anyway I was thinking either this or the Bassman pedal, but this has reverb.
I personally prefer this pedal over the Bassman one; its much more versatile and, especially if you're looking to play blues, it will much better serve you. Just don't pidgeonhole yourself to those two pedals - lots of other pedals are good for a bluesy sound, like tube screamers, some people like marshall guv'nor's for that sort of thing. But yeah, I'd take this over the Bassman pedal, especially for blues.
man have you bought the pedal?i was wondering how much can a pedal like this help a guitarist to get a warmer bluesy sound from a solid state amp...I think the sound we can hear in this video depends on the amp he's usin, that is clearly a tube amp...reply soon please, bye
It will give you the dinamics of a tube amp. I say that ´cause I have one of these.... But before buying this one, why dont you test the FBM-1? It´s very cool if you live SRV kind of tune !
He seems to be pushing it as a blues OD, but the amp is great for a cleaner tone with reverb. I'll have to try it out and see if it can mimic the amp's extra clean tone.
lol it says on the pedal that the outside of the knob is for reverb and the inside is for vibrato but i don't know maybe it's too complicated for you....
Dick Dale, the Surfaris, and Surf Raiders. But Im gonna buy the Line 6 verbzilla because it has a '63 Spring sound which sounds like Surf music, and its $40 cheaper.
Good question. I think you could if you turn the gain down on the pedal and increase the volume. It sounds more like the amp that way to me. See other vids of it.
its stupid trying it with a strat... should have tried it with a non-fender guitar.. it gives half of the fender sound

3:04, what? he says, "and here it is with reverb." *turns up VIBRATO knob*... way to go boss...
trumpetguitarguy 2 years ago
@trumpetguitarguy If you look, the reverb and vibrato are stacked (the knob's). He turns up the reverb.
lydiaprincess365 1 year ago
@lydiaprincess365 yeah, except for the fact that he turns up the vibrato, since thats the one on the inside.

Hey people ;)) I hope you can help me... I'm planning to buy this... My set up is Ds2---FDR1 (or FBM1)
My goal is to produce a distortion sound in a fender amp... which BOSS pedal would fit a DS2 distortion?
anyway hope you can help me decide with this.
Thanks

what if you play through this pedal in front of a fender deluxe reverb? do you get a fender twin reverb? xDD

anyone know what batteries this takes
theboywhocantollie 2 years ago
Every Boss pedal I've owned has used a 9volt battery, I'd assume this one does too.

I guess you could plug it in between a keyboard and an amp, but why would you want to do that?

Probably, if you just add some mild drive and reverb. I'd say it probably would. What do you play?
