I still like other bands, but Opeth and Mastodon are two of those bands were I can just start listening to any of their albums and listen all the way through, never fast forwarding or skipping a single track. @oceank2k I think it's very satisfying for several reasons. Firstly that their songs are a story, and not in just the lyrical sense, the song changes, not boring structure. Mikael also writes many songs that are very heavy and aggressive, mixed with mellow parts, giving good contrast, they emphasize each other. That's why even the heaviest metal doesn't blow my mind as much as Opeth, their heavy moments seem heavier. I've listened to them daily for 3 years and haven't stopped.
