I'd like to comment on the whole Macintosh vs. Every Other PC Manufacturer debate. Macs have their own unique applications, such as HD video editing and casual browsing, while Microsoft-licensed computers are usually geared more towards gaming and the development thereof.

I personally use Windows because I grew up using it and am used to the way things are laid out. Mac OS X just doesn't have that familiarity for me.

But I do intend to get a Mac Pro soon, just for the hardware.

The person who buys mac just for the hardware is a moron. Build a custom pc. You will save hundreds and get better hardware. Tak a gander at which video cards macs come with. Total weaksauce. I think you are mistaken about what macs can do. A pc can do anything a mac can do and whole lot more.

I strongly recommend 'crossover' for osx ;D

It allows you to install windows apps through osx and run them in osx natively. it removes the need for bootcamp, doesn't take up much space and runs pretty fast. its faster then rebooting your computer in boot camp just to quickly run one app (for example a keygen, not that i'd ever do that ;p)
