  • this is why i put more oar in the gate before i hop in

  • WOW xDDD two things caused this embarrasement:

    1. every single starboard oar was not locked in

    2.pure and utter stupidity

  • the oarlocks weren't tightened all the way so there was nothing to stop the boat from flipping

  • Honte Rowing Club, Middleburg, The Netherlands.

  • Why did they all get in at the same time

Depending on whose blades are on the dock and side should hold the boat while the other side gets in

  • They're speaking Dutch, so they must be in the Netherlands.

  • that's what happens when some people aren't holding their oars

  • Haha, how, cos you didn't do up any of the bow side blades!!! xD

  • it doesn't look like their starboard oars were locked in...

  • is this in the netherlands?

  • ajajajajajajajja es que no pueden darse vuelta en el muelle

  • why didn't the stern pair hold the boat so the bow pair could get in.

  • wheeeeyyyyy

  • we never lock our oars in before we get in, we get the cox to stand on a rigger just..

  • @srsly101 Send me the video when you flip at the dock.

  • @scopedoc been rowing for 6 and a half years and not happened yet. as long as a riggers being held down its impossible to flip

  • we never lock the oars before we get in the boat.. we jsut get the cox to stand on one of the riggers..

  • @srsly101 you should lock the oars before you get in the boat. but everyone has their way.

  • @nitro300 we lock as we get in, usually bow side get in first while stroke side + cox hold the boat, works well enough :)

  • @srsly101 ok

  • i love how everyone cheers

  • they didn't put their oars in their oar locks NOOOOBS!!!!!!

  • Idiots.......

  • should have been bowside in first get comfortable and then stoke side in, not all at once. if they were running late than they should have been on time

  • They are better then me i do it on pair

  • nice oarlock teqnichue!

  • none of them tightened their oarlocks. you can see the oars floating away.

  • very good! you are a talent

  • always check your oarlock...before you step into the boat

  • this is why you put the oars in the oarlock BEFORE you get in the boat.

  • How do flip an 8? Especially and 8 ON the dock? Impressive

  • omg how the hell do you flip an 8 thats dam near impossible lmao

  • fail. that is all.

  • it was bow man adjusting on the seat

  • @firebird646 it was nobody holding on to their own damn oars.

hold on to the oars!!! always hold on to the oars. how the fuck do you flip an 8?

8 idiots don't hold on to their oars, all at once...

  • howw do u flip in an 8??

  • really?! in an 8?

  • so this is where they get the old saying dont be a dumbass

  • Never thought thats possible lol...

  • LOL

  • sometimes all 8 get in at the same time and other times starboards then ports it all depends if we have to get off fast or what mood im in.

  • starboard was not holding onto their oars

  • And that is why you close yer rigger ;)

  • thats what happens when all eight rowers get in at the same time. i dont even row anymore and i still know that. also 2 seat should never have let go of the oar

  • i only tell my rowers all in if its a 4, but thats just a dumb move lol

  • yeah thats a good idea, what team do you cox for??

  • The Gunnery

  • i think that it is the 2 seats fault he turned around

  • not everyone is supposed to get into the boat at the same time and what happened to locking your oar locks?

  • EPIC FAIL

  • They didnt close the thingies at the and of the handle :P Naabs

  • oarlocks?

hah if we did this our coach would flip (no pun intended)

  • hahahahaha, good job.

  • hahahahahahaha and thats why we get in one or 2 at a time

  • lol... theres nothing wrong with getting in all 8 at one time... where they went wrong, is nobody held the dock, and nobody held their oar handle to keep the boat balanced

  • Nah, someone must of played a prank on them - none of their bowside gates were tightened (you can see the oars float away)

  • they were meant to be doing them up when they sat in. Stroke side should have pinned it, but they wanted to show off by all 8 in a the same time. Shame no-one pinned the boat HAHA

  • I love how the coach just walks away once they've flipped

  • HA HA HA loving it! what dumb arses! neva seen an eight go in! seen some lil novices tip a quad which was funny but that abt it!

    LOLZ

  • way to go BJ (the guy flipping the boat a bit more ;))

  • um..... STAR SIDE OAR LOCKS?????? MAYBE THAT WOULD HELP? wow that was an 8 to who flips an 8?

  • no one. i can't believe my eyes.

i thought this was only possible if a launch hit you at full speed or something...

  • i mean SERIOUSLY the first thing they taught me in rowing was how to carry the boat and to DO UP THE OARLOCKS wow.

  • You would be surprised, I saw a crew (I think it may have been Shiplake school) flip an 8 while waiting before a race. No, I don't know how they did it. . .

  • seriously? wow. would of been kindof funney to watch... were i row, here at calgary AB, no one has ever flipped anything larger than a four. no quads no eights. so far... :)

  • I'd SAY... In New Zealand it's stroke side and bow side, btw...

  • your not ment to all get in at the same time!!!

  • wow it wasn't even there fault...the person that's squatting lifted up 4 seat's rigger!!! What was he/she thinking?

  • that would be the single most embarrassing moment of any rowers career...

  • hahahahahaha. lol. rofl. omgflotf. even my team knows to lock their oars in and we are novices. and it is common sense.

  • the rigger probably broke or the collar snapped from the pressure

  • yeah man we lock our oars then we get on and we damn know the cox goes in last where's the cox for this shell i cant seem to find one.

  • the cox (i think) is the one squatting at the side, although he's a bit big 2 be a cox...

  • LOL! hence you close your oars in the locks before you get in the boat...

  • HAHAHAHAHA did yall hit ur skeg when u flipped? couse we flipped at the dock and killed another skeg... we kill like 3 a season.

  • lol funniest shit of life RIGHT THERE

  • HAHA all 4 bow siders didn't do their gates up, what are the odds????

  • how did the oars all end up floating away from the boat? arent they supposed to be held by the rigger?

  • Wow, that is just sad! How the heck do you flip an eight so easily? If those were any more than novices it would be really sad!

  • i love how the coach/official just throws his hands up and walks away. pretty sure my coach would do that too...

  • my coach would kill us and get us on an erg for a minute on minute off until our noses bleed

  • those crazy europeans and their silly techniques

  • and thats why you feather your blades on the water...

  • I can hear them talk dutch, and seeing the numer on the back I think it is just before the start of the "Head of the river amstel" in amsterdam, but I am not sure. I looked up to which club the blade belongs, it belongs to rowing club honte.

  • no i don't think this is on the "Amstel".

  • lmfao! ok honestly how does that happen on the docks?! i hope they and those who have done that before were novice, thats really the only excuse haha better luck next time

  • ahahahahhahaha. my eight did that once! we flipped right off the dock into the skankhole we call the cooper river. it's good to know we weren't the only ones to ever flip an eight!

  • To flip an 8+: row full pressure, all starboards crab while ports keep rowing.

  • super classy.

  • none of them were even touching there ores. There ore locks werent even tight

  • lmao, our girls did that novice year, so I've heard.

  • lol yea its possible. and also posible to turn a virus(training scull)

  • i wanna learn how to flip AN EIGHT!!

  • how the hell??

  • hah. thats embarassing.

  • wow, i flipped the first time i stepped in a pair, but an eight...

  • HAHAHAHA, flipping an 8, now I've seen everything. I suppose it would help to close the oar locks... :p

  • they didnt tighten their oar locks

    stupid mistake

    but pretty funny

  • oh shit, nice guys. I never flip an eight on a dock before. That takes skill.
