  • I agree with everyone about usin a conditioner. ALWAYS use a conditioner while detangling. And it is always important to detangle in small sections. It will actually cut the time because you'll be detangling a lot faster because it'll be easier wit small sections instead of Workin on one big section thats harder to detangle for 10 mins. Love the comparison video though! Thanks hun! :)

  • @SacredLove92 Hey, you are right it totallt helps! I am glad you enjoyed it thanks so much! :)

  • it did say on the guide that came with the tangle teezer to use conditioner.

  • @lightshorti Thanks! I did in my update vid, it's a response to this vid and it worked out great! :)

  • I put conditioner in my hair and sit under a heating cap for 30 minutes then i comb it out, its much easier, i twist up in sections and rinse out the conditioner with the twist in them after that i proceed with a style....

  • @sonebone7 thanks hun! I will try it again with conditioner and do a review of that on my other channel! <3

  • I love your hair texture. Look at how it stretches out. I'm tender-headed. With that said, I thought you were too rough on the last section of hair. Hey, you know your hair better than me. I saw and heard the hair knot, shedded hair, and some other hair being combed out. I know for my hair I get knots like crazy. Do you use any conditioner? I do detangle while washing my hair with no problem. I use the little brush with the round tips. I don't have as much hair as you do. Thanks.

  • @zheahra Thanks so much! <3 No I am gonna start detangling wi/ conditioner though. I've been meaning to buy the Kiss My Face line of Shampoo and Condish. I also need some more virgin coconut oil. I'm low on supplies now but will be getting that soon and doing a review on my other channel!

  • i have type 4 hair and I love the tangle teezer, but I hate the denman brush I feel like it rips out my hair.

  • @TrulyNaptural that's cool. Wish it worked for me. I'm gonna give it a second go since I have it lying around but I doubt anything will happen wi/o using a wide tooth comb beforehand. In that case, I might as well just use my wide tooth and the denman. To each is own hey! I'm glad it works for you!

  • Hello dear, you are not de-tangling your hair properly it looked painful to do on semi wet unconditioned 4b hair I promise when your hair gets longer you will start using conditioner to de-tangle and washing your hair in braids or twist to prevent over manipulation and tangles. de-tangling wet shrunken hair is a nightmare and a recipe for breakage and low hair growth retention... Adieu

  • No that denman didnt do anything... U ripped it straight out

  • how did you expect any miracles without using conditioner??? i would hope no one on here detangles without conditioner...

  • @1msjp I do the water/oil thing all the time with a comb or denman. You make a really great point but my point is: if the comb or denman can handle it, why can't the teezer in the exact same conditions? That's all I'm saying, at least break even and the teezer didn't so I had to junk it. I agree though detangling with a conditioner is better but I never had serious painstaking detangling issues so I just never bothered! :D

  • really appreciate your review !...especially from some who has hair like myself.

  • @stormiebleu Hey my pleasure I'm glad you got something from it even though technically the teezer didn't work for me lol!

  • @weewinkle7 i have the tangle teezer also and i thought it worked great..but ive been watching detangling videos the past 2 days and now i kinda wanna try my wide tooth comb again..so ill be washing my hair this weekend and hopefully i can make a video comparing the two...like im going to detangle half my head with the comb and the other half with the tangle teezer to see which side loose less hair

  • @ballinactress11 That's sounds like a great comparison, hope you post!

  • did you apply any conditioner to the hair to detangle besides the water

  • @ballinactress11 yes, I saturate with water & used a butter, darcy's botanical's coconut capuacu butter. Not a conditioner I know lol! But I've never had any issues doing exactly that before with combs or the denman.

  • I love the Tangle Teezer! Best purchase I've made for my hair since going natural! Blows the Denman out of the water!!!!!

  • @CelineCarey I wish I could love it lol! It just didn't work for me, I guess I got that real wooly stuff lol! Please check out my natural hair channel! It's called beautybynajah and the link is also under and on the video! Thanks!

  • @CelineCarey I love it too..its awsome! I use it wet or dry.

  • @awill334 much thanks for your comment it is sooo appreciated but I actually wish I could love it. My hair doesn't like it I actually like the Goody Ouchless brush and will be reviewing it on my other channel.

  • Hi. Thanks for the video review. I also have THICK, type 4a/4b hair and I have been very satisfied with my detangling results with the Tangle Teezer. You seem to be kind of rough with your hair...I know it will take a little longer, but if you separate your hair into smaller sections I think you might be able to get through some of the coarser sections of your hair (and maintain more length).

  • @altrie22 I think they may have improved it... I've seen some with a dark comb base. I bought the original so the alternate may indeed be better. As I said, there's no reason it should perform WORSE than your average comb or knock of denman. Just meet me level is all I'm saying! There's no excuse for it not to perform as well as a basic comb. I cut sections of the vid, that was over 10 minutes of patience on 1 section. It just didn't work out, wish it had though it was expensive!

  • it looks like the denman ripped the knot out. The tangle teezer saved you by flexing its teeth so as not to rip out your hair. Its telling you, your "fingers" are going to have to get this one (if you want to save the hair, that is)

  • @Virtuenow yeah, the Denman isn't all sunshine either you're right (on the search for a better one still) but neither is the Teezer, I shouldn't have to use my fingers to detangle with a DETANGLING tool. My hair wasn't matted just your average, albeit hefty, tangle. I was being gentle, that's over 5 mins of patient work on 1 section. The Tangle Teezer is DEFINITELY lacking. If it can't perform AS WELL l as a large tooth or the Denman it has some explaining to do lol!

  • I used the Alba Mango Hair Wash. It is the BEST shampoo I have ever found! My hair loves it, I'm running out and should get more, got it at Walmart but you can also get it online. The brush is called the Tangle Teezer. But the one I love is called the Denman and I also use it in the vid.

  • Hi, what kind of shampoo did you use again? Also, what kind of brush is that? Thanks!
