I laughed sooooo hard when you put the pad over your eyes! You had that look on your face like "Well I'll just see how thick this thing really is!" HA!
Hey it's Kerry again:) me and my mom r lucky we get it 3 days max!!! Mostly we get it 2 days and we r so light! The heaviest flow we have is like regular! We r mostly lights
Thank you so much for your videos, I get nervous when i try to talk to people about my period. I have like never asked for many period products and when i do I ask my brothers girlfriend and she buys them for me. I think I am going to get my period soon like in the next week, because I have some PMS symptoms. So thank you your videos help so much. Bye
I would like to suggest to you ladies to look into a menstrual cup. The Keeper and Mooncup (U.S.) are made in America (Ohio, in fact). They are a lot less cost and waste to throw away. Also there is little to no leakage [after a bit of a learning curve] especially at night, the average time between changing is 12 hours. I've used one for only 4 months now and I am a total convert. {33 year-old mom}
i have to use the alway night time thins that are really long but i leak easy so i still have to put some toliet papere be hide it :( and i use them all day not just for night time
I am due my second period soon and I'm going on a school retreat with my best friend. On one of the days we go on a long walk and I kind of want to ask my mum if I can use a tampon for then. The only problem is that she never uses tampons and has never mentioned them to me and we don't have any in the house at all so I'm not sure how to ask her. Plz help me
@bethanyangel418 Try a note, email, text and just write that you would like to try tampons and would like her opinion about that. To write you back or talk to you privately. Holly
I just love ur guys videos. So anyway i've had my period for 3-4 months now. I was just wondering why do i see sometimes red dots on my pantyliner? I know it's not from my panties cause i don't have red panties!!! So also some r big others small. I am expecting my period soon though. Also a lot girls periods start to pick up in there 2-3 month but i still only use a liner i'm so light. By the way i love ur videos plz keep making them
@lifelaughlatte Thanks Holly. Also I was wondering how come my period is like super light? I've heard that your period starts to pick up in about 3-4 months. I've had my period for around that time period and I'm still super light. Also yesterday i was useing the bathroom and I saw a brown spot on my panty liner. I'm pretty shure it was old blood from a previous period. Does this mean that my body was just empting out the old blood so that I could newer blood for my period. Thx for making videos
your videos are really helpful so thx thanks for the advice but i want to know how long you have to wait before you can wear a tampon instead of a pad
@hitoplop123 You don't have to wait at all if you don't want to. It could be helpful to go through a couple of months to understand your flow better. But you don't have to wait. Holly
Carry baby wipes during the day in your purse in a plastic baggy and a extra pad/tampon. That way if you end up with a mess...you can wipe yourself up, and you'll feel clean again.
ok so my mom has a really heavy period and mine is kinda light somedays and regular. i also started mabey 5 months ago but skiped a month so is it still getting used to how heavy it will be or will it stay this way? hope this makes sence thanks love your videos.
@MrTdjm It usually takes a year or two for you to really know how it will be. Also, even now I have lighter months and heavier months. Bodies are just not super predictable things. Holly
@AngestiniKat No...just great friends. Best part of my week is the day we get to hang out together. Helping girls has become our passion. So glad you found us too. Holly
Hey, so I got my first period on Sunday..... and ever since then I have been bleeding nonstop..... but I wouldn't say it was that much.... but it all adds up, it got to the point the when I would use toilet paper it would have blood on it....... it this normal?
@kissmemissme13 Every girl is so different. There isn't anything wrong with a first period like that. It isn't typical...but it is normal. I would really keep track for next month and make sure you have supplies with you well in advance of the suspected time of your next period. Holly
This video helped me so much! And the fact that you used them as masks and made jokes made me alot more comfortable watching the video! You girls were alot of help for me so Thank You!
@TheAnime161 Absolutely not true. But, it could be that she isn't comfortable with anything being used up there until you are married. There is no problem with using them from the moment you get your first cycle if you are comfortable and want to. Holly
@TheSmileyacer Interesting...I've never experienced that. Wonder if it is the brand you are using. I've recently started using pads made by Kotex U. Really like them. Very comfortable, absorbant, and stick well. Try those, or try another brand to see if the problem stops. Holly
@abercrombielove1001 That is a challenge to get used to a heavy flow that starts right off the bat. You may decide to start using tampons to help you manage the flow better. Use super tampons and a thin, regular pad and you will probably get 2-3 hours before needing to change the tampon on your heavy days. Holly
How would i know when my period is over? (I haven't had it yet) I don't like talking to my mom about stuff like this it makes me feel in comfortable.......? Who else could I talk to? -Avery...?
@misspiggieful At first you will probably just get little spots of blood for a day or two. When your period becomes normal there will usually be 2 days of heavier flow, 2 days of regular to light flow, and 2 days or so of it tapering off to nothing. When I've gone 24 hours with no blood I usually stop using tampons and pantiliners. Holly
hey gals !! im 13 and i just started my perieod this year and i have only had two so far , some proudcts i use are , Tampax pearl lites , playtex gentle glide regular . U by Kotex regular ( whitch i dont realy like , thinking of switching to always ) , for liners i have U by Kotex ultra thin , and everyday liners by equate , so far my perieod only lasts about 2 days and it skips a day then comes back for another day and then it leaves again !! thanks for making this video it was helpful !! :)
U guys should try always infinity ...I started off with the ultra thins. I liked them till I tried the infinity! They are way more absorbant and soft!

Hi, I have question!!! I'm 13 I've had my period for about 2 months and basketball seanson is coming up!! I was wondering- Should I start using tampons now because of this?! Thanks in advance! :)
When I started, mine lasted 9 days and was heavy...
Then it was light and lasted 7 days...
Now this month it is super heavy and lasts 7 days.
And I only get it about every month and a half most of the time. I've had mine since February. I hope it doesnt stay this heavy/last this long all the time :/
Hi ladies! I love your torturials! =] so helpful. I was thinking when I was watching this one. When I first started it was heavy. Super heavy. It's been like 5 months since my first one and everytime it seems to be worse. My grandma got hers at age 16 my mom got gets at age 15 and I got mine at thirteen. Why is that? I were tampons now. The super ones I like them better then pads. But why do you think it's so heavy? All my friends say theres were super light. But my one friend who has cysts got
@MrsBossybutterfly It is possible you take after the women in your dad's family, or that your own body has its own timing:) It is pretty uncommon to start off with heavy periods. It doesn't mean that your period will always be heavy. There isn't anything wrong with you, so please don't worry about that. Cysts can make a flow very heavy, but it is unlikely at your age that you have them. Your friend's family might have a history of them. Hang in there it will get better, Holly
Hey guys i have a question. What if i have a tampon on and i REALLY Need to change it and my teacher says no. What should i do? should i go up to her and tell her? hm that ran across my mind just now.
@giselpalomaperez I'd write on a paper that it is that time of the month and it is an emergency and hand it to her. We also have of video titled something like "Handling your period at school." Holly
Ok so I really love you guys. But I do have one question! Ok...i haven't tried tampons yet because i just got my period but I do have tampax pearl so it's good to know that they are reliable. My question is...I use stay free pads, can you tell me about those and your experience with them? I might switch to always if you say that they are better. Thanks! -3
@volleyballchick180 Pads are so individual that it is hard to say. Charisse likes Always for everything. I tend to switch around with products. I think Stay Free makes great stuff. The main thing is if you like it, it is comfortable, and does the job. Holly
Since april, I have been getting this dark red or brown thing in my underwear every month, and its never been a liquid it anything similar to a liquid. Is this normal?
@matylduhastaramuha Have you had a period yet? It sounds like blood clots which is perfectly normal. Often girls pass these during their period. It could also just be a colored bit of mucus which is fine and normal too. If you haven't had a period before...then this could be your body letting you know that it is about to start. Holly
hey ladies, i love your videos so much! as a teen i've been very lucky to have a mom i can talk to however, i love to watch your videos because i can get more information! i was wondering if you guys could give some information on tampons, just because they really aren't that healthy for you, and maybe talk about menstrual cups and try them out? i LOVE them, and i was wondering if, since you girls have popular videos, you could talk about them! ask me about them, please! :) thank you girlies! <3
@MerciMeMerciMe You are so sweet. Thank you for your thoughtful words. Love that you have a mom you can talk to...such a treasure! Charisse and I aren't convinced that there is anything unhealthy about tampons and Charisse is actually very holistic in her approach to most things in life. We feel like we should talk about what we use, and neither of us use menstrual cups. I know many other women talk about them on Youtube though. Holly
Those tampax tampons "the huge ones" are the ultra tampons ( holds 15-18 grams), they do not come after super they are the absorbency after super plus (holds 12-15 grams).
These are Tampax Tampons wrapper colors and all available absorbencies: lite (less then 6 grams-light purple), regular (6-9g-yellow), super (9-12g-green), super plus (12-15g-orange), and Ultra (15-18g-purple).
Holly and Charrice, I absolutley love you guys ;) you are sooo funny!!! I wish I knew you guys hahaha abd Holly you are such a pretty mom you are gorgeous!!!!! I'm 14 abd I'm starting high schoool abd I'm reallly scarred any thing too calm me down hahah see yaa :)
@lilconlan63gmailcom Oh my goodness...you win sweetest comment of the day! Believe it or not I can still remember starting high school and how it felt. Everyone is scared and somehow that can be comforting. I think a walk through helps a lot. Go there the week before, try your locker & get quick at it, walk to each class in order, find the restrooms around campus. The main thing is just be yourself. You are cool enough as you are! Holly
@lifelaughlatte yes they do have a bathroom I could use !!! But see I have an older brother that would laugh if he found out I know that but the thing im concerned is i have a smaller brother and if he sees it he will get it out and ask everyone at home what it is could I possibly keep it in my room?
@pocketbook57 I think keeping it in your room is a great idea. As long as you have a trash can in your bedroom you could even change your products in there. Although if you use tampons I'd take them out only over a toilet because blood will often come out when you pull the string. Holly
Ok i have a question what if u have two brothers and u share a bathroom with them and ur older brother knows what it is and ur scared to tell him where could u keep ur supplies ?
@pocketbook57 Do your parents have a bathroom you could use 1 week a month? You could put them in there. Otherwise, I find that boys are just not that curious or snoopy if it doesn't involve them. I bet if you put a zippered bag with your supplies in them in the bathroom they wouldn't care or look at it. Holly
You've given me LOADS of confidence so when I had my period (3 days ago) I was on holiday and I had no difficulty asking my mum if I could use tampax for the pool! :-)
@trixiechick123 This probably isn't linked to your cycle. I don't think you need to worry, but if the rash bothers you, you could use cortizone cream to help it go away. Holly
@lifelaughlatte okay.so instead of my periods being liquidy like water mine are the texture of a very thin slime.and my blood clots are more like the texture of grainy peanut butter.im on my 3rd period.is this normal?im very concerned.and i love how i can talk to u about anything,=] yall r like my 2nd mom =]
@cardinleanna There is a wide range of normal. It can take a year to know what your cycle is really going to be like. I think it sounds just fine. My feeling though is that if you feel worried about it you should ask your mom. It could be that she had the same thing and it will put your mind at ease. Holly
Ok so I WISH! that my period was light and only discharge fir my first couple times but no. It's full on bloody massacure in my pants for like5-6 days and they are 100% regular. IS THIS NORMAL?!!!! please respond! Love the vids! Keep em commin!
@ithinkcanadaissexy It is normal for some. I'd begin with tampons to help you manage it better. Talk to your mom to see if it is ok with her. You are fine though:) HOlly
@sabra800 We have a youtube channel that has just our videos. 1 that we have is on how to ask an adult for the things you need. A good way to start is to find a time alone with her and just ask her how she handled her period when she was your age. If she doesn't mention tampons ask her when she started using them and tell her you want her advice on how to use them and when you can. With that approach she should be open to the discussion. Holly
@CrazyUnikorn You could try gathering some online research to help your mom think thru this topic. One place to start is Kidshealth. Tell her you want to understand why she feels the way she does. At the same time you want her to consider that for many girls the hymen breaks in many ways other than sex. Exercise for one. Stay calm, put your thoughts together, read some online research with her and then ask her if the two of you can come to a decision together. Holly
this video is awesome , im in the uk and we have all those products here too , i wish my mum was like you two :D thank you for this is been so helpful
@thewinnerthattookit We have a video on our channel about how to talk to adults about difficult topics. You should watch that too. If you can't just tell her you need more...try texting, writing a note, e-mail. I'm sure she will understand and wants to make sure you have what you need. Holly
I have a question and please if this happened to anyone please write bAck when your in the pool and the water leaks through your bathing suit what if your tampon expands cuz It felt the water???
@Bluberry423 I never have had this happen. But another girl has written me to say it happens to her. It can only expand so far though and shouldn't be a problem to remove. Was it hard to take out? Or, were you worried about it absorbing water? Holly
@pupcake1999 That's what happened to me! I was like ohh, hold onn, I have to go to the bathroom and I was like okayyy. Then I saw it and I'm like.... ohh sweet Jesus! Whyyy todayyy and whyyy now?! And my friend lives in Des Moines, and I was visiting while my mom had to go to a thing for work, and later that night we went to the hotel where my mom was at and we were about to go swimming, and I took my mom in the bedroom and told her and she freaked out onn me! She didn't have anything. She got -
Hi Sunset- maybe wet dreams. This is when a boy has an orgasm during his sleep. Maybe dreaming about a girl and wakes up with seman on his pants. It is completely involuntary. Happens more for some boys. Some boys never experience it. Also called Nocturnal Emmission. Perfectly normal in either case.
Ok so my friends were talking at lunch about how us girls get periods and the boys get something else. I don't remember the name & they wouldn't tell me what it meant, i felt left out, I think it started with an e.. Idk tho, can any one help?

For girls that are in sports you should also try playtex sport tampons. I used them ever since I was 14. I play volleyball, softball and dance, and find that they are really good when you're moving around alot.
Ok Thank you Holly I have always wondered but was always afraid to ask! Oh and can you do a video on STD's people at school talk about what ever they are and I am just curious what they are?
@TiffMarie98 STD's are Sexually Transmitted Diseases. Sometimes when people have several partners they pick up sexual diseases and then when they have sex with other people they pass those diseases on. Some diseases are forever...like AIDS or Herpes. Some go away with a vaccine from a doctor. We will have to talk about whether we should do a video on this. Thanks for the idea:) Holly
Hi TiffMarie98 - I wouldn't recommend trying them before just because when there isn't blood it is too dry to slide them in. Then taking them out can feel very uncomfortable. When there is blood there is no discomfort at all. The first time you try them do it on a day when your flow is the heaviest. Holly:)
Ok I have a question that might sound stupid to you but is it ok to practice using tampons BEFOR you have started your period and if not what will happen. Also I love your videos and I look up to you all a lot-Tiffany
thanks for showing the new tampax pearl ultra size tampons. i've found the super plus are not enough for the 1st few days some months and now i'm definitely looking into them!
i kind of want you guys to either try and then do a review on organic feminine hygiene ( like Seventh Generation)products or just talk about them. I'm 21, and I've NEVER been able to use brand tampons or pads because of the chlorine and chemicals in them. I get rashes and infections from using these products. I know there are probably younger girls out there who may have the same problems I do where Always and Tampax and Playtex may not work for them. just a thought :)
Hey, im pretty usual wit hmy period, i started about a year and ahalf ago, and im 14, But i know sometimes i just dont like using tampons, but i find when you tried to put the carboard ones in, that if they get a little damp, then they are hard to insert, if you know what i mean, althought THANK You you helped me through my first months :) - Jessica

The super ones I like them better then pads. But why do you think it's so heavy? All my friends say theres were super light. But my one friend who has cysts got
MrsBossybutterfly 5 months ago
@MrsBossybutterfly It is possible you take after the women in your dad's family, or that your own body has its own timing:) It is pretty uncommon to start off with heavy periods. It doesn't mean that your period will always be heavy. There isn't anything wrong with you, so please don't worry about that. Cysts can make a flow very heavy, but it is unlikely at your age that you have them. Your friend's family might have a history of them. Hang in there it will get better, Holly

Hey guys i have a question. What if i have a tampon on and i REALLY Need to change it and my teacher says no. What should i do? should i go up to her and tell her? hm that ran across my mind just now.
giselpalomaperez 5 months ago
@giselpalomaperez I'd write on a paper that it is that time of the month and it is an emergency and hand it to her. We also have of video titled something like "Handling your period at school." Holly

Ok so I really love you guys. But I do have one question! Ok...i haven't tried tampons yet because i just got my period but I do have tampax pearl so it's good to know that they are reliable. My question is...I use stay free pads, can you tell me about those and your experience with them? I might switch to always if you say that they are better. Thanks! -3
Please reply!!
volleyballchick180 5 months ago
@volleyballchick180 Pads are so individual that it is hard to say. Charisse likes Always for everything. I tend to switch around with products. I think Stay Free makes great stuff. The main thing is if you like it, it is comfortable, and does the job. Holly

Since april, I have been getting this dark red or brown thing in my underwear every month, and its never been a liquid it anything similar to a liquid. Is this normal?
matylduhastaramuha 6 months ago

MerciMeMerciMe 6 months ago
@MerciMeMerciMe You are so sweet. Thank you for your thoughtful words. Love that you have a mom you can talk to...such a treasure! Charisse and I aren't convinced that there is anything unhealthy about tampons and Charisse is actually very holistic in her approach to most things in life. We feel like we should talk about what we use, and neither of us use menstrual cups. I know many other women talk about them on Youtube though. Holly

Always Pads wrapper colors and absorpencies are: slender (pink), regular (yellow), super (green), and overnight (orange).
JoyBolden 7 months ago
Those tampax tampons "the huge ones" are the ultra tampons ( holds 15-18 grams), they do not come after super they are the absorbency after super plus (holds 12-15 grams).
These are Tampax Tampons wrapper colors and all available absorbencies: lite (less then 6 grams-light purple), regular (6-9g-yellow), super (9-12g-green), super plus (12-15g-orange), and Ultra (15-18g-purple).

Holly

pocketbook57 7 months ago
@lifelaughlatte yes they do have a bathroom I could use !!! But see I have an older brother that would laugh if he found out I know that but the thing im concerned is i have a smaller brother and if he sees it he will get it out and ask everyone at home what it is could I possibly keep it in my room?
pocketbook57 7 months ago
@pocketbook57 I think keeping it in your room is a great idea. As long as you have a trash can in your bedroom you could even change your products in there. Although if you use tampons I'd take them out only over a toilet because blood will often come out when you pull the string. Holly

Ok i have a question what if u have two brothers and u share a bathroom with them and ur older brother knows what it is and ur scared to tell him where could u keep ur supplies ?
pocketbook57 7 months ago
@pocketbook57 Do your parents have a bathroom you could use 1 week a month? You could put them in there. Otherwise, I find that boys are just not that curious or snoopy if it doesn't involve them. I bet if you put a zippered bag with your supplies in them in the bathroom they wouldn't care or look at it. Holly

Is it normal to have small rashes on your upper thigh .. Ive started and i was wondering if its something i should worry about? Please help
trixiechick123 7 months ago
@trixiechick123 This probably isn't linked to your cycle. I don't think you need to worry, but if the rash bothers you, you could use cortizone cream to help it go away. Holly
lifelaughlatte 7 months ago
@lifelaughlatte okay.so instead of my periods being liquidy like water mine are the texture of a very thin slime.and my blood clots are more like the texture of grainy peanut butter.im on my 3rd period.is this normal?im very concerned.and i love how i can talk to u about anything,=] yall r like my 2nd mom =]
cardinleanna 7 months ago
@cardinleanna There is a wide range of normal. It can take a year to know what your cycle is really going to be like. I think it sounds just fine. My feeling though is that if you feel worried about it you should ask your mom. It could be that she had the same thing and it will put your mind at ease. Holly
lifelaughlatte 7 months ago
Ok so I WISH! that my period was light and only discharge fir my first couple times but no. It's full on bloody massacure in my pants for like5-6 days and they are 100% regular. IS THIS NORMAL?!!!! please respond! Love the vids! Keep em commin!
ithinkcanadaissexy 7 months ago
@ithinkcanadaissexy It is normal for some. I'd begin with tampons to help you manage it better. Talk to your mom to see if it is ok with her. You are fine though:) HOlly

What if ur mom wont let u use tampons i want to but scared to ask
sabra800 7 months ago
@sabra800 We have a youtube channel that has just our videos. 1 that we have is on how to ask an adult for the things you need. A good way to start is to find a time alone with her and just ask her how she handled her period when she was your age. If she doesn't mention tampons ask her when she started using them and tell her you want her advice on how to use them and when you can. With that approach she should be open to the discussion. Holly

My mom wont let me wear tampons bc she thinks I'll lose my virginity. Now I'm freaking out bc I want to use tampons not big thick pads!
CrazyUnikorn 8 months ago
@CrazyUnikorn You could try gathering some online research to help your mom think thru this topic. One place to start is Kidshealth. Tell her you want to understand why she feels the way she does. At the same time you want her to consider that for many girls the hymen breaks in many ways other than sex. Exercise for one. Stay calm, put your thoughts together, read some online research with her and then ask her if the two of you can come to a decision together. Holly

thewinnerthattookit 8 months ago
@thewinnerthattookit We have a video on our channel about how to talk to adults about difficult topics. You should watch that too. If you can't just tell her you need more...try texting, writing a note, e-mail. I'm sure she will understand and wants to make sure you have what you need. Holly

@Bluberry423 I never have had this happen. But another girl has written me to say it happens to her. It can only expand so far though and shouldn't be a problem to remove. Was it hard to take out? Or, were you worried about it absorbing water? Holly

What?
allycourtney12 9 months ago

TiffMarie98 11 months ago
Hi Sunset- maybe wet dreams. This is when a boy has an orgasm during his sleep. Maybe dreaming about a girl and wakes up with seman on his pants. It is completely involuntary. Happens more for some boys. Some boys never experience it. Also called Nocturnal Emmission. Perfectly normal in either case.

TiffMarie98 11 months ago
@TiffMarie98 STD's are Sexually Transmitted Diseases. Sometimes when people have several partners they pick up sexual diseases and then when they have sex with other people they pass those diseases on. Some diseases are forever...like AIDS or Herpes. Some go away with a vaccine from a doctor. We will have to talk about whether we should do a video on this. Thanks for the idea:) Holly
lifelaughlatte 11 months ago
Hi TiffMarie98 - I wouldn't recommend trying them before just because when there isn't blood it is too dry to slide them in. Then taking them out can feel very uncomfortable. When there is blood there is no discomfort at all. The first time you try them do it on a day when your flow is the heaviest. Holly:)
lifelaughlatte 11 months ago
Ok I have a question that might sound stupid to you but is it ok to practice using tampons BEFOR you have started your period and if not what will happen. Also I love your videos and I look up to you all a lot-Tiffany

i kind of want you guys to either try and then do a review on organic feminine hygiene ( like Seventh Generation)products or just talk about them. I'm 21, and I've NEVER been able to use brand tampons or pads because of the chlorine and chemicals in them. I get rashes and infections from using these products. I know there are probably younger girls out there who may have the same problems I do where Always and Tampax and Playtex may not work for them. just a thought :)

They should make a variety pack of pads that would be so great
