I LOVE this movie!!!! I saw it twice in the theater and now own the DVD. Unfortunately there is no soundtrack but Little Dragon ("Twice" and "Scribbled Paper") , Ra Re Valverde ("Do I (for Daddy)" and "Til U Come Home") and Karen Bostic (sp?) are a few of the artists. The complete list of artists can be requested on the movie's Facebook page although I wasnt able to find all on Itunes. You can always just watch the movie OFTEN to have the music and feel of it seep into your bones. ENJOY
just saw this movie tonight at the Newark NJ black film festival. it is a great inspiring film. extremely poetic, and captivating. it is supposed to be released on dvd the 23rd of august . anyone who has lost someone would love this film, great eye opener.
I have not seen the film yet but I am hearing good things about it. My name is Jesse James Jackson, I am with Jersey Style FIlms Inc., and we are shooting a film that takes place in Camden New Jersey and Osaka Japan, The film is called 'The House of Malik," staring Clifton Powell, Sean Taylor Yorie Akiba. I am only writing this because I feel so happy that this kind of film is getting an audience, this is an inspiring production and I will be joining a class of great filmmakers.
This film really resonates with me. All should be able to relate to this film on some level when it comes to how people react to death in a family. Quit honestly, I saw characters in the film that are true to life - be it black, white, yellow or brown. The story line was good, the characters were easy to identify and relate to and the movie flowed.
What a really good film - and the location was beautiful!
Yay, a movie about brown people that's not about the ghetto or slavery or a buppie who works at a marketing firm and needs to his/her relationship back on track!!!!
@tjn2film Hello! I went to the site & noticed the Houston screening for March 26th @ Rice Cinema. I went to the Rice University film schedule to confirm, but don't see it listed - which doesn't mean anything - maybe they have not posted this new release to their schedule. But anyway, I have been watching (and waiting) for this movie since last fall. I'm very eager to see it.
Now here's one of several good movies that should get alot of support if everybody go see it ; since so many people can support as well as complain about the Big Momma's and Madea movies outhere please support this movie.
@The1baddman That's the problem...people love to complain but don't know how to support much of anything. I'll do my part, but I really hope others will do theirs.
This premieres tonight at the Urbanworld Film Festival. I have been at the film festival all week, and what really amazes me is how in the world these realitively unknown producers, directors and writers get these veteran actors to appear in their films. I mean these are not amateur actors scrounging for any type of job --these are people like Salli Richardson and Blair Underwood, and then Danny Glover, Kerry Washington, Anthony Mackie, Evan Ross, etc., ..amazing.
It's obvious this film is going to be amazing. Thank you for bringing quality work to the screen AND giving Black actors a job they can really show their craft. It's good to see woman directors getting their work out there. I wish you well.
Too bad the Angelika closed in Houston, this movie was made for that. Probably a chic flick, but with Tracie and Salli it will be worthwhile. Loved the piano track, makes me wonder if a few hankies may be necessary.
I would go see this is a heartbeat. And then I would leave the theatre, buy another ticket and watch it again. I love Dijon Talton and this looks fantastic. I hope more trailers are on the way though. Preferably with a little more dialogue. But if this is anything to go by, it looks amazing!
I LOVED THIS MOVIE I RENTED IT AT REDBOX! OMARI IS SO FINE!

I only know Tracie Thorns (from Rent) and Dijon Talton (from Glee). That's enough to make me watch the movie. Hopefully it'll be good.
