  • where did u get that dragon thing! i want one!

  • they made it for a better view duh

  • in the future they've franchised the Luxor Hotel

  • It is a homage to the shortstory "The Sentinel of Eternity" from Arthur C. Clarke - The basis idea of 2001: A Space Odyssey.

  • its ''THAR she blows'' idiot

  • I'm not dissn' the video or anything but it did say prothean ruins in the codex

  • @ridercore you have to get Anderson to bitch slap udina so you can leave

  • THOSE YRAMINS IT´S THE ILLUMINATE

  • Lol 180 airthrust. +500 points

  • HOW TO GET OUT OF THE CITADEL AND GET tO tHE NORMANDY!!!!!!!!!!?????? pls tell me cus i forgot

  • @RiderCore hahaha figure it out yourself

  • @RiderCore Take C-Sec's Lower Elevator

  • It's a Pyramide Ship from Stargate :D

  • Damn it reminds me of the pyramid on Sonny Boy.... eeasdwefbkjbnxxvcvyy disgusting movie

  • wasn't there one surrounding that second prothean visions thing?

  • those damn egyptions just dont wana stop building pyramids :|

  • 4 min video should have only been 30 sec

  • @daonejorge I completely agree!

  • @Bobderpie yeah this fucking sucks

  • It was built by the protheans, on an asingment on mass effect 2 you find one.

  • There is another sidequest that features a pyramid exactly like this one. On top of it, you find a Prothean artifact. This suggests that these pyramids were made by the Protheans, something further supported by the textures used to build the pyramid (the same textures are seen everywhere during the Ilos mission) and by a cutscene from ME2.

  • i remember this

  • Protheans made it because at the end of the game Liso looks like it's made from the same material

  • I love how the Mako defies the laws of physics. Eat that, Newton!

  • There's a few of those. One on Binthu, and a couple of other places

  • @ultimatepedrodude330

Dont forget Earth, we have a lot of them here.

  • That's obviously not a pyramid. It's simply one of the corners of the Allspark.

  • what a shiitty team you have there.

oh and CLIMB THE MOUNTAIN MAKO!!!

  • Clearly a deserted Las vegas :P

nah this is based off a theory called eh ''the ancient cosmonaut theory'' basically that at times throughout human history an advanced life form gave us information/technology to further us. Basically either Protheans built these on earth or we built them to replicate the protheans

  • There's a similar object in ME2, on one of the little random side missions

  • This isn't really a mystery, it's a prop object, the mummified salarian was researching, he has Matriarch Writings that he likely found nearby. A REAL Mass Effect mystery is the Prothean Orb.

  • @darknet2010 From the ME2 DLC ?

  • @TheSBDroid2 No. When the Consort gives you the Trinket in ME1, you can take it to Eletania in the Hercules System within the Attican Beta Cluster. In the SE area of the map is a Prothean Ruin with a mysterious glowing orb that gives your shep a flashback of human cromags (cave men) interacting with Prothean's who are studying them. It's a neat little unlisted side quest.

  • @darknet2010 I've always wondered what that thing the consort gave me was. Think i'll replay ME1 with my 5-th Shepard again :P , thanks!

  • its a prothean pyramid

  • *sigh* i miss this part of ME. u know, real planetary exploring. was always fun. (spoiler alert! [in case u didnt already know]) stupid idiots took it out in ME2. pissed me off

  • @brakoth0 sadly that was the only good thing about planetary exploration

  • @brakoth0

They don't need to change the game for ONE Person.

  • @brakoth0 those stupid idiots you refer to, are the ones who also put planetary exploration in!

  • @Codis998 and yet they took it out and replaced it with a lazy scanner and probe which kills any chance at finding stuff like this. they killed a good thing and replaced it with something pointless and stupid. thus, idiots.

  • @brakoth0 Yes I do agree! I'd rather explore than taking my chances on scanning for resources on an hourly bases. It sucks when you don't even get an accurate probe shot onto the richest deposit. And just scanning the whole planet for ages just till it is depleted can be mission... then we go onto the next one... and the next one....

  • @Codis998 and lets not forget the "annomaly detected" bit of the scanning. 30 minutes spent looking for an annoying message with nothing to lead on but a garbled speech in a much-to-large range

  • @brakoth0

I take scanning over Mako any day.

  • @Mesina2

Whilst the mako side-missions did suck in fairness, scanning also sucked.

Realistically if they didn't make the exploring area so big it'd be better where as in ME 2 its concise. I know they are going for the sci-fi element of exploring a planet, but its not fun driving the mako aimlessly over mountains etc 2 minutes at a time, if they 50/50 it with probes & driving. It would give the feel of exploring vast areas whilst taking out the travel drag which annoyed many

  • @tvrulesnation

Well Bioware confirmed that they will keep scanning but hybrid of scanning and Hammerhead( hopefully with armor and shields in ME3) exploration is still possibility.

  • I went to the top of one and found some loot in its tip. I just wish/hope that all the little stuff like these pyramids, and the multitude of stuff discovered in ME2 come to light in ME3. So many planets had 'curious' information and quite a few had information on strange activity, strange signals, or other 'strange' behavior or information on how the particular planet relates to certain species. It would be nice if EDI is keeping a log of this and they come to play in ME3.

  • What's the music in the beginning/end?

  • Looks to be made of the same metal as the structures on Ilos, so it must be Prothean.

  • wow why do you people think this is me2 its not it is me1

  • they'res alot ov em across the galixy some sort of ruins

  • ... Screw this! I'm buying Mass effect again!

Mass effect 2 is great and all... But I miss the wide open landscapes and the planets with strange easter eggs like this and the orb.

  • You can buy it off Stream for $20.

  • @JediElderNishmo i got mine for $5

  • There's a free DLc in may for Me2 that gives you a mako-like vehicle, the hover tank.

  • @ShpleeMan The hammer head(i think this is the name) will released within the firewalker Pack FREE

  • i miss the mako ^^

  • It looks like there are seams at the tip that possibly open up.

I'd imagine this is supposed to be a lot bigger than its scaled. Aould have been fun to climb up an enormous pyramid.

Than it would really get you wondering whats in there.

  • The Egyptian theories are great, except that the Protheans were wiped out 42,000 years before civilization on Earth began.

  • No, they Protheans were around at the time of the humans. Well at the time of Cro-Magnon humans. If you recover the prothean orb it describes a prothean studying a cave-man. Well that's what is assumed.

  • The studying cave-men theory works, the oldest fossil of homo sapiens found is 190K. But going as far to say that the Protheans helped or influenced the building of the pyramids; speculation and theory aren't on the same side as the timelines.

You know you've made a successful Sci-Fi franchise when people can have these sort of discussions.

  • @theothermeisdead003

one small tinsy problem with your interesting thought, the protheans were eradicated approx 1k years before we were even primitive cave people.

    Good idea tho

  • @bigbang377

Hopefully there will be some kind of prequel book that explores these theories.

  • Hell, id read it :D

  • @bigbang377 I found a prothean ruin on a planet (cant remember which). it was a shiny silver ball and some text popped up explaining how the protheans studied the cro magnon people. if you dont know what a cro magnon is, they are the earliest known modern humans in terms of physiology and existed up to 100k years a go.

  • @bjm1702 well im not too far into the game.. u must have had tali with u and maybe her quarian scientist skill all the way up cuz i didnt get squat when i played :C

  • @bigbang377 if you search for "MassEffect:The Mysterious Globe" you will see what i was taking about

  • yeah Bobderpie has another video for that as well

  • @bigbang377 LOLOLOLOLOLOlL You're wrong :) they studied us as cave people, theres evidence as represented in the Mysterious Orb easter egg,and in the Codex which says there was information regarding the study of humans on the Prothean Mars outpost :)

  • The Pyramids were possibly built by the Protheans, and the Protheans are also believed to have had a large impact on Egypt (Anubis sure does look like a Prothean). They believe that the Protheans built these pyramids on Earth, were seen by the Egyptians, and believed to be Gods. The Protheans are also believed to have done research on the Cro-magnon human on their Mars station.

  • Indeed, its so eerie isn't it? Just makes want to know everything!

  • Some things are better left unkown, especially those that are out of our control.

My wonder is if it was some kind of planetary defense weapon. The tip of the pyramid appears like an unkown metal, and I wonder if it extends out to do something.

    Other though was Stargate LOL

  • I've come across alot of these pyramids on various planets, they are pretty common. Sometimes you can salvage stuff from the tip up top, for whatever sidequest has you collecting prothean junk, cant remember the name.

  • no an ancient Egyptian magician named Djeda told the pharaoh Khufu that the Hall of Records lay under the Giza Plateau. but Khufu was unable to open it. now Egyptologists are looking for it.

  • why would they get rid of the maco D: it was funnnnn

  • The MAKO sucked ass. It was boring as hell. That's why.

  • @btet15

not as boring as scanning planets for resources for hours like in me2

  • @happosai27 I actually kind of like the scanning... after a long time though I wish I could just go send Miranda to go bring it up manually.

  • @btet15 no no. the unexplored planets were boring as hell... not the mako. ME2 didnt put in either of them, which just really made it suck more. none of the anomaly planet quests were much fun either.

  • @sammanslap the mako will be back in a dlc

  • it will? O_o where? when? link?

  • hmm weird... looks prothean

  • cool thing you use the "stairs" =p jajaja

    4:00

  • Lol, I also went to the top when I saw the pyramid

  • The Mako was stupid

  • Hate those who cut out maco from the me2

  • i liked the mako, too bad they took it out due to whimpy gamers cant stand a little warthog driving action

  • @garrett686 I hated the Mako because it was slow, tedious, and boring. It contributed nothing and managed to detract from the enjoyable parts of the game.

Tossing around insults doesn't win you any favors, by the by.

  • @qzmoiwxn

didnt realize their was any favors to be had, due to your short attention span im suprised you could make it through this big boy game

  • The pyramids were built by the Protheans.

  • @toontaskfan my penis was built by the protheans!

  • yeah, i found this one and another one on some planet i forgot, its really weird, i inspected it for like 20 minutes because i thought it had some purpose or something, because you don't just leave a pyramid out there lol

  • That music at the end was from first KOTOR at the jedi academy planet, it always got stuck in my head for days when i played kotor :D

  • cant wait for number 2 in 5 days for me anyway

  • there prothean just like the ones on earth

  • If i rember correctly there are quite a few of these spread ot through out the milky on ME, maybe the protheans built them?

  • "As I was Venturing the vast number of side planets in Mass Effect, I found an oddity that has no purpose....or does it?????"

For those who haven't watched the vid, don't waste your time. There's NOTHING goin' on with the pyramid.

  • i hate it how some really awsome looking planets you can only survey

  • Stargate!? Oo

  • There are many of those all around the galaxy

  • its prothean. there is another just like that on mars > local system

  • how did u get on mars or did someone tell u there is one on mars because i can only get to the moon in local system

  • where did you ever see that he was on mars? are you able to read?

  • @SHADOSTRYKR yes i can read i was talking to danthemunchkin look at his comment smart arse

  • @DanTheMunchkin you can land on Mars? i thought it was just the moon lol

  • DanTheMunchkin is just bluffing. You can't land on mars. Even though there is a colony on it.

Its the 4th planet from the sun. In the Local Cluster.

  • isn't it anoying that you can't. not even Earth. not even in Mass Effect 2 can you land on Earth.

  • they dont wanna spoil it for ME3

  • what is there to spoil? are you suppose to go to Earth as a part of the main story in ME3?

  • cool!!

  • were is the milky way I cant find it..... HELP

  • LOL, your in the milky way the whole time buddy ;)

  • whops.... deedeedee Had a stupid moment. i feel sooooooooooooooooo stupid. LOL!

  • lol gotta love those stupid moments ^.^

  • i had same problem man it was mentally challenged

  • LOL

  • *facepalm*

  • there are actually 2 pyramids in the game, one of them on the final cerberus mission planet...

The dialogue says "you find a data disc among several other childs toys"

so it is probably a burial of important people

  • Fuck the aliens helping the Egyptians, the Egyptians helped the aliens lol!

no but i hate it when people say the Egyptians couldn't build the pyramids without help, just because we're to stupid to figure it out (the chinese tried to build a modern one and it collapsed on them) doesn't mean the Egyptians couldn't do it

  • @Evongelo

lol you better stop trying to think it clearly hurts your head

  • are you telling me you don't think the Egyptians achieved space travel?! Ever hear of the Hall of Records under the Giza Plateau that no one has found yet? i bet you anything we'll find it in there, just you watch. lol

  • If nobody has found it how do you know it's there?

  • An ancient Egyptian magician named Djeda told the pharaoh Khufu that it was under the Giza Plateau, but Khufu was unable to open it. now Egyptologists are looking for it but are unable to locate it.

  • @Evongelo

Wait a minute go to page 6 to see your comment (roughly) are you saying you think that the egyptians acheived space travel? & claiming the hall of records as evidence which many scholars in ancient egyptian history & archealogists who study the egyptians don't believe in for the most-part & so far hasn't been found.

I could just as easily say Moses is buried there & cause there is no evidence you can't dispute it.

  • @tvrulesnation

no no you misunderstand me. i was joking. I dont believe the egyptians achieved space travel. But i also dont believe that aliens helped them in anyway like some people do.

as for the hall of records. most egyptologist dismiss the idea of a hall of records but they dont dismiss the possibility of finding an unknown collection of something under the Giza plateau. they dont believe it will contain advanced technology or anything but it could be somethinglike a library

  • Did anyone notice what was in the other one you can find? I think it was for a child maybe... I don't know, but it does seem like a Burial Site. I don't know about you, but when I get buried, I am not going to want all my childhood toys buried with me.

I don't know what may have been in that one, I'd be curious to find out though.

  • The purpose is kinda obvious. It implies that the protheans had some effect on earth architecture. Particularly the Gazan pyramids. Standard precurson stuff. The egyptians always had alien contact. The greeks often do too, since they're pretty famous. No other civilization gets so lucky. Poor Babylonians, poor Mesopotamians.

  • considering a pyramid is a simple and stable shape to create an impressive building one would expect cultures all over to develop pyramids independently, much like the wheel

  • Other cultures, such as the aztec, tended to develop them with thick layers. It would be notably unusual for the developers to make it look almost exactly like a giza pyramid, with weathered marble and all at random.

  • You actually believe this, or just for game canon?

  • Well, if you look at other pyramids, that was how they were built. It's real world canon. I do actually believe the real world.

  • what about Mayans?

  • Made of steps, again unlike Egyptian pyramids.

  • yeah i just said that cause you didnt mention them

  • Yeah. They were in mexico. So I don't think of them much. As I'm british.

  • ive found three so far and they really annoy me because i have no idea what they do.

P.S. yuo suck at driving lol

  • They are prothean pyramids, there for show mostly, used as storing devices sometimes (can obtain data disks from them, or I have from one of them)

  • ugh I can't wait any longer for ME 2 gahhhhh :(

  • these another easter egg on Tuntau its a floating checker box searuisly if u dont believe me try it out ur self.

    1. go to tuntau

    2. go to the base where wrex's family armor is in.

    3. set a checkpoint to the debris thats like northwest of the base.

    4. follow that checkpoint for a like 2 mins and u should see a floating checker box above a mountain in front of u, zoom in if u want a better view.

  • our pyramids rape this tiny 1

  • That pyramid sorta has a purpose, but it's also kinda pointless I guess. Basically, if you go to it, climb up to the top, now align yourself with the edge pointing to the southeast. Just stand there for a bit, bathroom break. When I came back, I went down, and then started running at that edge, now turn around and go back up. Look again towards the southeast, but this time keep your view down with your weapon out along the edge and look up SLOWLY, you'll see a strange symbol glitching.

  • From the size of that pryamid its safe to say the Protheans were midgets lol

  • Protheans were actually pretty tall

    *Possible Spoiler**Possible Spoiler**Possible Spoiler**Possible Spoiler**Possible Spoiler*

You can see statues of them on The Ilos Planet in the terminus area

  • Knights of the old republic music FTW

  • yeah, can't beat the kotor soundtrack. ME is good, it just dosn't quite hold up.

  • ive found pyramid...not in that location though...mine was ontop of a cliff

  • There r like 4 Prothean Pyramids. However, the only one that actually taught you something was that orb thing. What makes me curious is the fact that there are Pyramids on Earth along with the fact that Protheans had Pyramids. Could the human gods be Protheans?

  • stop dont go any further! as 100 bioware agents close in on your property armed to the teath

  • Lol, I'm just saying, there has to be some type of connection.

  • maybe in the mass effect universe...ust dnt say it happens in reallife or u get internet extremists on ur ass ^^

  • Mocking the game: Impossible, The Protheans vanished 50,000 years ago!

  • I know. Thats one of many holes within what I said before.

  • There is more than one. i forget the name of the planet.

  • exactly...

  • ugh, the one thing that pissed me off about this game was the Mako, it handles like an extremely obese person balancing on one broken roller skate.

  • lol XD dude u gave me dreams for tonight, fat people in a sakte park falling over

  • I find the mako a bit annoying but whats more annoying is that you cant shoot Civ.

Okay then you say im an idiot

Well i guess its okay to shoot your Mates with HE rounds and grenade them over and over and over again.

Okay maybe thats little bit extreme

But WHY CANT I SHOOT A VI! (virtual intelligence)

  • I saw this too. Was quite disappointed there was nothing more to it.

  • Yeah...pretty sure there's no special significance.

  • That one is not quite as interesting as your mysterious proth orb. sorry i hate to say this.

  • the ending music was from kotOR

  • whats the name of the planet i might visit it on mass effect

  • what level are you?

  • There are a few pyramids through the game but I dont remember one with an intact capstone.

  • An M113 would kick the shit out of the rover...

  • "there she blows" haha

    ps. downhill driving was legit

  • LMAO. You drive the mako like I do.

  • it takes fucking forever to do it right and as soon as i learn how the credits roll

  • ya when i saw this i had no idea what it was

  • prothean pyramid,I read up on it,very interesting stuff mass effect is.

  • lol does anyone who made this game watch stargate?!?

  • ofcourse!
