  • What a song

  • Me gusta!

  • The bass is so soothing in this song ^_^

  • We should cherish this band while we still have them. Years from now, it won't be any question of how inspirational and beautiful their music was.

  • this is some layback album

  • Sometimes....you just feel in peace.

  • Fools, great music is ageless.

  • i am lucky for being born in 1996 , ''the last year of grunge'' , less than 1 year of life.

  • @flmvdvsrg damn, i was born in 97

  • I'll never forget how the paper on the "No Code" LP's jacket felt in my fingers when Jeff's college buddy handed me the first copy in his Missoula record store. Amazing paper! Ahhh...the things you remember! LOL

  • I don't know about music in the sense as a musician or a singer but... Doesn't Eddie make a mistake at 1:13? His voice sounds terrible there and it's a pity beacuse this song is awesome, No Code is an excelent album and Pearl Jam is my favourite band.

  • @bajoespacio This version of "Sometimes" is full of bad audio....and it's not meant to sound top-notch. It's meant to sound like a bunch of guys f*ing around experimenting with their new audio equipment while playing great sh*t in the local bar. That's who they were and how they played back then. Gotta hand it to the audio guys for screwing it up so beautifully!!!

  • i love this song- so pure and beautiful...

  • nirvana is not a legend! they could barely play and kurt was insanely jealous of eddie vedder cause eddie had talent and he didnt! best thing to happen when nirvana stopped was foo fighters! now I feel bad about how his life and how it ended but doesnt mean we should award his four cord playing ass the best musician ever!

  • @DungeonChampionship True that! Eddie is a poet, his words are more relevant than his singing or musicianship could ever be. His words can stand on their own. Kurt, while entertaining, was nothing of the sort, wordsmith-wise. Any creativity, soul or otherwise that came out of Kurt was borne of confusion, self loathing, drugs, alcohol, what have you.. Kurt shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath as Eddie Vedder. IMHO.

  • @DungeonChampionship Kurt Cobain was not the only member of Nirvana...I love all the "core grunge" bands as well as all the underrated underground stuff that went completely unnoticed around this time. There's no need to have a shouting match over "which band is better." It really comes down to personal taste. My personal favorite grunge band-out of the core-was Soundgarden. They were pretty fucking awesome and no one even talks about them anymore. And don't Alice in Chains.

  • @DungeonChampionship If you're talking about vocals, well Eddie blows all of the "grunge" singers away in that regards. Vedder's voice just makes me melt. (even taking Cornell's amazing rock tenor and 4 octave range into account)

  • @MsFelixtheCat50 Cornell absolutely. I find it hard tp pick between Soundgarden and Alice in chains so i dont even try anymore, besides it's possible to like many things equally. How do you feel about Mark Lanegan?

  • @ghostwhiskey Oh yea man screaming trees are awesome. I really can't decide which band is "better" so I just kind of look at it this way. Each of the "big four" kind of represented a different style of grunge (because it's not really a genre or even a sub genre of music) because each "grunger" was influenced by different sounds. Soundgarden and Led Zeppelin/Sabbath, Nirvana and Pixies (and other college rock) then you have AIC and Pearl Jam. It's like the 4 corners of grunge.

  • @ghostwhiskey It really depends on your personal taste, I love college rock. So I enjoy Nirvana, but I also enjoy Pearl Jam, AIC, Soundgarden because I have really varied and eclectic musical tastes. (I like the sounds of Sabbath and Hendrix and whatnot. I like Pearl Jam's easy going take on the whole grunge thing. I listen to them when I want to contemplate stuff, I listen to Nirvana when I'm angry, Soundarden when I want to be energized and AIC when I want to be mesmerized.

  • @ghostwhiskey There's a really cool album on iTunes called String Tribute to Alice in Chains by the String Tribute Players. It just shows how absolutely mesmerizing and creative their chord progressions were for rock in general. Most people seem to think that 90s rock was just recycled acid rock from the 60s and 70s, I look at it as 60s/70s rock inverted. These musicians took what 60s/70s musicians did and just distorted it into something very strange and yet beautiful.

  • @MsFelixtheCat50 Hey,thanks for that, that was very cool, ill have to check it out. I also enjoyed reading your thoughts on different bands. I guess Ill have to send you a friend invite

  • @ghostwhiskey No probs, I figured any grunge/AIC fan would totally dig that. Thanks I accept :)

  • @MsFelixtheCat50 thank you, you're alot younger than i thought you would be judging by the way you talj :) if it eans anything.most people think i alot older because the way i write

  • @ghostwhiskey lol well thank you. Ah internet speak is interesting. I usually judge on the content of the writing rather than the writing itself. It's so easy to miss a key or something.

  • It doesn't get Eddie Vedder (anybetter?).

  • @QuestMusicAus Nice.

  • great great song

  • Somehow, this song's lyrics remind me a lot of Terrence Malick's "Tree of Life" just as much as the artwork of the album reminds me of the movie poster. I can't avoid thinking about the proximity between those things.

  • Why is there a comment of Nirvana on this video ? And why the fuck is it the most liked comment ?

  • @varunj34 thank you!!!! i was thinking the same thing come one people!

  • @DungeonChampionship i mean come on lol

  • great tune, i always seem to forget about it because when i put this album on my ipod from a friend's itunes for some reason this and hail, hail didn't get on it.

  • my first and my favorite PJ album

  • Comment removed

  • never liked how when this song ends it jumps into Hail Hail. Hail Hail should not have followed this song on the album. I don't care what anyone says.

  • @jorgencream LOL, that always scared the PISS out of me!

  • @jorgencream I once went to sleep during sometimes, you can imagine how and when I woke up!:O

  • the guys from pearl jam are such a bunch of hypocrits fighting against ticketmaster for being monopolistic, but the thing is that they make such good music that they have become a monopoly in the music i listen : )

  • pearl jam pearl jam ohhhh pearl jam

  • This is it.

  • my first pj album, never forget

  • Girlfriend got No code for me back when it first came out lol. Course we are not together anymore but when i listen to this CD i think of her

  • Seen them live twice, ten years apart. On both occasions this was the opening song.

  • @HighlandBhoy that must have been great...imagine corduroy...and severed hand....my two times....

  • i can find atleast 6 songs on each pj album that i love

  • i think the best opener was VS with go lol xD but this one is good too :'3

  • I kind of find it hard to listen to any other songs (even Pearl Jam) for after I listen to this song.

  • LOVE THIS SONG! Best opener...GREATEST. BAND. EVER.

    Thanks for posting it :)

  • Vitalogy and No Code are the greatest back-to-back albums released in the 90's. I don't care about Nirvana, the Smashing Pumpkins or Pavement. As much as I love all those bands, I am constantly blown away by the emotional power of those two albums."Sometimes I reach to myself..." Hell, I get the goosebumps every single time.

  • @rockaintpollution pavement.. who ? LOL

  • @valcarni1 I don't get what you're implying here. Pavement is a great band.

  • @rockaintpollution Amazing albums, I don't think they get the credit they deserve because they really need to be played all the way through.....Each album tells a story and the songs need to be heard in order.

  • That song is great, i love them

  • your god and you've got big hands........

  • Hey guys can you tell me what is the name of the song of Pearl Jam that on intro of the song stars the bip of an clock?

  • @dsoinjin That's the tapping of drum sticks you here and the song is called "Red Mosquito".

  • my fav PJ album

  • people !

nirvana and pearl jam are not as same kind of music !

you can't compare this two bands !

it's sad when you're doing sth like that because i think that you do not understand music...

  • Sometimes I know

    Sometimes I rise

    Sometimes I fall

    Sometimes I don't

    Sometimes I cringe

    Sometimes I live

    Sometimes I walk

    Sometimes I kneel

Sometimes I speak of nothing at all

Sometimes I reach to myself, dear God

  • No Code is so underrated as an album. I still think 'Sometimes' is one of the best album openers ever.

  • Nirvana is great but they are dead..but their music is alive, but pearl jam still make music this days..nobody know`s if Kurt C. was alive if he would still making music. so shut up with this stupid coments about Nirvana vs pearl jam.

    what fuck!

  • All this talk is stupid. Long live the great and mighty PEARL JAM

  • does this trip everyone else out one bit?????

i heard this album and i am still tripping

  • Probably PJ's best album...to be honest when they do the whole rock and roll thing they are pretty dull...sorry but generally they play the same ol tired riffs and solos...yawn...they are lucky to have had so many great drummers to flesh out their sound...and to have Eddie...it's their softer and/or acoustic stuff like this that is the most interesting when it comes to Pearl Jam...

  • best song ever...

  • do you really care how many albums they sold or how much the media tells you to like something either listen or dont its fuckin easy you should try it you like it shut up and just listen or go deaf we would be better off with out your stupid input

  • @stevan33ify Pearl Jam was never about record sales and the media, heck they hated making videos, Vs album they never made one video Pearl jam cared about touring playing live concerts around the world

  • This song is beautiful!

  • loved it. as of most of it

  • Calling TEN radio garbage is stupid. It is brilliant. No Code is their best, but PJ has yet to make a bad album. And Ten as their first was awesome. yes it is more commercial than anything since - but Black, Proch, Why Go?, Oceans... so much awesome music there to call it garbage.

  • they had shown they could write pop songs. with this album they wrote music.

  • asssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee those who say he sucks your a bbbbbbbbbbbiiiiiiiiiiittttttcccccccccccchhhhhhhhhhh

  • Large fingers pushin' paint...... Your god and you got big hands. The colors blend... the challenges you give man...

  • illuminati

  • trur pj fans would adore this fixer is and will always be great

  • I listened to this album during a difficult time in my life, I cherish every song from No Code.

  • Pearl Jam ranks amongst one of the most inspirational bands to me personally, "No Code" and "Yield" are the first two releases by the band that ideally grow on you.

  • I'm sure everyone already knows this...

    Pearl Jam is fucking incredible.

    No Code woooff...

    Amazing album

  • no code all the way man

  • This Alubum is better than TEN

    Ten is radio garbage

NO CODE is diffrent and has more personality

  • how can you call Ten radio garbage? that cd could be a greatest hits cd in itself

  • Comment removed

  • "Ten is radio garbage"

    Troll.

  • i wouldn't call Ten radio garbage.

    1) It had no success until Nirvana showed up. Any Pearl Jam album would have been a big radio success at that time. I mean even SOunbdgarden had hits at that time, and SG is definatly not radio friendly

    2) Ten was not written by Pearl Jam, the songs on Ten were written for Mother Love Bone, Eddie just added the lyrics to them later.

Vs. is the first real Pearl Jam album.

  • Dude Ten is awesome. True no code is better, but that doesn't make ten garbage.

  • song with a hypnotic groove. This is an under rated album. One of my favorites. Red Mosquito! Hail Hail!

  • I can still listen to PJ, and enjoy the music. It takes me back to when I first heard it.

But everytime I hear Nirvana, all I do is get depressed that Kurt killed himself. Such a waste.

But both bands are worth listening too. Their music is great. Different but great.

  • nirvana and pearl jam are good in their own ways

  • btw guys, a legend is a legend, and a death shouldn't make ANYONE a legend...

  • cool song, very eeire way to start off an album

  • see you in rotterdam =)

  • Are they having a concert in rotterdam?? When???

  • Eddie, please come to Colombia

  • This is my favorite Pearl Jam Album. No Code is amazing.

  • i wish people stop freaking comparing Nirvana and Pearl Jam. There both great bands that sound different and awesome in there own right and this song is one of Pearl Jam's many underrated songs.

  • your a w@nker for suggesting they sound like Nirvana

  • there both good so no fighting children xD

  • haahahahaha no no no PEARL JAM IS 100 TIMES better than Nirvana

  • It's purely a matter of taste ;)

    but nirvana is a legend!!!!!

  • Pearl Jam is just as big of a legend as Nirvana or maybe even bigger

  • @xXRick921Xx Way better

  • @xXRick921Xx "maybe"? of course its better... its light years better than nirvana... Pearl jam songs have meaning, they are poetry... nirvana is good too, i like them a lot, but i know that Pearl Jam is waaaaay better...

  • @xXRick921Xx yes biggerrrrrrr!

  • @xXRick921Xx Certainly, bigger!

  • @xXRick921Xx nirvana isnt THAT big or original to me as many people claim off.....they ripped off some stuff from sonic youth and the pixies and people went retarded like: "wow...so original"

  • @xXRick921Xx BIGGER! WAAAAAYYY BIGGER! Nirvana would have fizzled out by 2000 if Kurt was alive.

  • @spikerogan If you look at the statistics Pearl Jam's popularity actually did fizzle around that time. I love both bands and all their albums, but if you look at history you'll see that Pearl Jam's album sales began to drop after No Code for reasons I'm not sure of.

  • @TheGoldenShamrocks Yeah the corporate media punished them for challenging corporate giant Ticketmaster at the time of No Code. Should be noted all other albums post No Code out sold No Code as well. But only the last record got the type of push the first three got in promos.

  • @TheGoldenShamrocks i know why. people hates too much, and cant accept changes. just like GnR, many people hates Axl for what he has done with it. i saw em in Oslo this summer, i never thought i would say this, but i didn't miss Slash at all :D. Dj Ashba is a better live guitarist in my opinion. This song is great and i dont have this album!!

  • @xXRick921Xx I think Nirvana it's the best band ever @

  • @nesseixuxa Nirvana was good, but I don't think they would have been able to keep making amazing music for 20+ years like Pearl Jam.

  • @xXRick921Xx nooot

  • @xXRick921Xx bigger for me

  • @xXRick921Xx omg on your comment, i would understand if wrote "nirvana is almost as big legend as pearl jam is"

and, omg again on your comment

    cheers

  • @IvyLestrange nirvana only became legendary cause kurt killed himself..lets keep it real and stay focused on what happened after he done it..their sales increased just like michael jackson jim morrison and anyone who was somebody when they died..if eddie was killed in a car accidant tomorrow pearl jams sales would sky rocket..cant neglect the facts

  • @muziqspumpin

I wonder what had happened if Eddie had died instead of Kurt back in 1994,

Maybe Eddie had been seen as the big grunge frontman instead...

  • @muziqspumpin you better think before you right nirvana was not just any other band it was amovement an energy like a firecracker .....People like you ...the least you can do is not be ignorant about different types of music.....leave analysis aside so not your thing buddy!!!

  • @eggjam who are you to say im not allowed to speak my mind..this is a democracy right freedom of speech right..well im entitled to my opinion..it doesnt make me ignorant..im stating the facts..artists sales sky rocket when they die esp young like cobain and morrison and elvis..its just a fact..if eddie died tomorrow watch the sales start to increase and the myth begin....im not on nirvana pages bagging them im on pearl jams pages enjoying them..you should go enjoy nirvana pages

  • I like them about the same

  • Great :D

  • La maturità di un gran bel gruppo
