its perfect if your kid doesnt want to eat carrots, just make it in this shape, and i assure you they will consider it alot more then if you just normally slice and cook it
It's a citrus zester -- they have four little holes at the end that scrape off long thin strips of peel from lemons and oranges. On the side of these tools is another larger scoop blade -- you can use this to make larger, thicker peels of citrus. It's this blade, called the cannel that you use.
@Whysoserious800 It's a Zester. It's used for sort of grating a bit of peel off of citrus fruits for what's called zest. You can look it on on Wikipedia for more information.
Depends on how thick the carrots are, they turn out a little differently each time. Someone recommended using a straw to punch a hole in the center, which would make them even more cog-in-a-machine like
That's a great idea. Sometimes I blanch the peeled carrots before digging out the furrows. It makes them softer as a garnish a plate, and if you did this it would be easier to use a firm straw to make the center hole (a totally raw carrot might be too tought for a straw). Thanks for the tip.
Great idea, thanks so much! I'm going to do an update to my Spectacularly Delicious website, and I'll credit your streetmachine1984 Youtube channel if that's ok?
I made a several jars of dill pickled carrot chips cut into flowers like this and they are going to look amazing on a snack platter at a party! Thanks!

totally! I use them to decorate the rim of a plain white plate -- they look like they're part of the pattern but then folks realize they're edible.
