  • Flowers? Look more like gears from a machine to me!

  • what type of knife is it?

  • These would look very cute in an obento

    arigatou!

  • Nice Video.

  • its perfect if your kid doesnt want to eat carrots, just make it in this shape, and i assure you they will consider it alot more then if you just normally slice and cook it

  • did he really just spend 24 seconds straight taking about a citrus zester?

  • it's easy too.

  • Pretty neat!

  • better than that crappy strawberry rose

  • Lighten up guys. The carrot is eaten, not wasted; I am the age I appear to be (old); and Doris, I have no idea how you get to the places you go.

  • Groovy? Flower power?? How old are u man!??

  • same here, and what a waste of a good carrot

  • Why am I even here? I was originally listening to music.

  • It's a citrus zester -- they have four little holes at the end that scrape off long thin strips of peel from lemons and oranges. On the side of these tools is another larger scoop blade -- you can use this to make larger, thicker peels of citrus. It's this blade, called the cannel that you use.

  • I have a little question and the question is what are you using? =P

I didn't quite get the word you said about the metal thing you use to make the strips can you please tell me what the name is? :)

  • @Whysoserious800 It's a Zester. It's used for sort of grating a bit of peel off of citrus fruits for what's called zest. You can look it on on Wikipedia for more information.

  • @AmiMecanique

    Thank you so much :D

  • arigato

  • BENTO DESU.

  • Depends on how thick the carrots are, they turn out a little differently each time. Someone recommended using a straw to punch a hole in the center, which would make them even more cog-in-a-machine like

  • looks more like gears

  • Think how popular tractor wheels will be as decotive motifs for farming community potluck suppers!

  • crap look like tractor wheels

  • spread the love! I just used them to decorate a lamb tagine on my website, spectacularlydelicious. Check it out.

  • Flower power lol awesome idea!!!

  • That's a great idea. Sometimes I blanch the peeled carrots before digging out the furrows. It makes them softer as a garnish a plate, and if you did this it would be easier to use a firm straw to make the center hole (a totally raw carrot might be too tought for a straw). Thanks for the tip.

  • tall, long, straight carrot lol

  • HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII:P

  • totally! I use them to decorate the rim of a plain white plate -- they look like they're part of the pattern but then folks realize they're edible.

  • Those would look very cute in a bento box.

  • why cut it when you can just snap it ?

  • When I was young, i was the king of carrot flowers.

  • I've done this before but I like to cut at an angle.

It gives it a very nice shape.

  • and easy!

  • That's cute.

  • Great idea, do you have a picture of the pickles? Maybe I can put them on my website spectacularlydelicious Sean

  • I made a several jars of dill pickled carrot chips cut into flowers like this and they are going to look amazing on a snack platter at a party! Thanks!
