  • geat....the best perfomance i have ever seen with this instruments ...

  • Ughghhuhuhghugh still so awesome.

  • @thedynamic2 Hey Thanks! Hope you are doing well! :)

  • They are all good but the baritone player is the weakened link..

  • Maybe if the queen was flying in a Concorde!

  • Sound is extremely bright -- I don't understand why so many saxophone quartets have this sound

  • Wow! This is wonderful!

  • Watch the soprano player, he's circular breathing

  • bravissimi!

  • this playing is of the highest order. second to none. guitarman

  • When i first heard this song on strings i was like :( then i hear this and i was like :D fantastic job keep it up!!!

  • There is just something special about the sax when it plays classical music, and especially when it plays a piece that is usually played by strings.

Phenomenal arrangement of this piece. All 4 are incredibly saxophonists. I just love the sound of the alto and soprano in this piece.

  • Could you play this on bagpipes?

  • That was absolutely beautiful and, I imagine, very difficult for reed instruments!

  • Northwestern. What a bunch of clowns.

  • perfect the audio was awesome!-Jakarta Indonesia

  • a marvelous arrangement, superbly executed

  • That was good!!!!

  • exelent play. bravo

Where can i hear you play ..??

  • fantastic!

  • :)

  • bet thats tough on those instruments

  • This just blew my mind away lol

  • It is weird to listen to a song for my family member, great performance best regards from the grand son of the Himyarite Kingdom Family.

  • i play the saxophone and the flute.. with my flute it's possible for me to follow this enormous speed, but althoug i'm very talented in playing the sax it's impossible for me to play with so much precision, speed and excellent tonalty.. the flute is in my opinion the ideal instrument to be fast and also good..

  • Thumbs up for the audio engineer.

  • exceptional performance, thank you so much for uploading!

  • Perfect work guys. Well done. Right tonality and pitch, which is rare in brass. I'

d prefer it slightly slower, though, as it was written for a queen who would walk slow pace into the palace. Keep it up!

  • I can simply play this on the voilin but to play it on a woodwind instrament! Now that's outstanding! I can play the tenor but not NEARLY that good. Bravo amazing. This is worth a subscription and a like. :D

  • sounds like strings are playing this, not saxophones!

  • meh

  • maybe, if the queen was running...

  • amazing

  • were can i download your music?

  • the soprano sax player sits so still! how can someone stay so still while playing with such grace and emotion?

  • now THIS is what a classical saxophone ensemble should sound like, not like jazz players trying to play classical. beautiful sound :)

  • precioso *-*

  • I'm really surprised

  • Beautiful. Moved me.

  • outstanding!!

  • Handel would have loved this. Chamber music at its best

  • Wonderful, Wonderful very uplifting

  • Is it just me or do those saxophones sound like clarinets?

Thumbs way up by the way

  • I thought there were instruments for jazzy musics.

    They opened my eyes.

  • I wish, i could play like this. It would be haven on earth for me.

  • I wish, i could play like this. It would be haven on earth.

  • FANTASTIC!!!!

  • absolutely impeccable! wonderful job you four! one of the best arrangements I've heard yet :)

  • lovely, really lovely.

  • DIVINE

  • Ohman, I want an alto sound like that. >:

  • my sax quartet(we are in high school) did this last year and I thought we did a pretty good interpretation of this but you guys are INCREDIBLE!!! The pitch is soooo consistent and the tone as individuals and as an ensemble is phenomenal

  • I think I have to prefer this to violins!

  • These guys have done an amazing job in this key, and like qlancer, their tonality, pitch, and breathing were all great. Something that bothered me is that woodwinds doing this piece can just not capture the incredible energy that there is when strings are playing this piece. To put this in perspective, I think of it as the clarity of a bass drum to the clarity of a snare drum- there's just no way to compensate for the shortness/clarity of the notes when strings are playing it.

  • 6 deef people had visited this page.

  • Amazing version. I will never forget this timeless piece and was the music my bride walked down the isle to.

  • *clicks on replay for the millionth time*

  • This is Fantastic Fantastic Fantastic, i do love the Arrival of the Queen of Sheba, i did not think for one minute that four lads could do this as good, well well done.

  • as a sax player for 5 years i'm super and i want to pick up my soprano and baritone again!

  • @Melon326 Wow, good thing you found that mistake. Maybe now they won't win Fischoff...oh wait.

  • im playing this piece on my violin for my school concert and for my GCSE :D i know how hard it is and my teacher keep on adding trills >_> but it is a very lovely piece

  • six fellas has lost the like button

  • How can there be 6 dislikes? These guys a fantastic!

  • If youtube was never created i would not be able to hear all these wonderful music.

  • Excellent, enjoyed it!

  • Amazing! As a tenor sax player I hope I can be this good one day!!!

  • This just blows me away every time! It's such a unique version, and just perfectly exectuted! Remarkable talent, all of you :)

  • WOW ... very nicely done gentlemen.

  • All of you BRAVO! BRAVO! BRAVO! I am a professional oboist leading a trio nowadays. You have such a brilliant united sound and clean intonation, that everyone could be proud of. Even the woodwinds of Berlin Philharmoncs! Dude! Amazing!

  • I thought this was awesome, then saw it's from Northwestern... even awesomer.

  • Excellent work on this piece, guys.

  • love altos sound

  • De tirar o chapéu!!! Afinaçao espetacular.

    Tj - Brasil

  • I am completely blown away by this performance, and I'm a trumpet player!

  • beautiful! when i first saw that they were brass unstead of strings i was like.. ehh. But this is GREAT!

  • so DAMN CLEAN!!!!

awesome playing! you are the best.

  • LOVE the song. LOVE the sound. LOVE you guys!

  • Magnífico!

    From Argentina

  • Damn! You guys are good, you're up there with SF Sax Quartet. Well done!

  • Love this performance and arrangement of one of my favourite pieces... Played flawlessly...

    Love it!

  • Incredible performance! Did one of you transcribe this, or is there a published version? I'd be very interested to take a look at the score!

  • fabulous! Bravo!!

  • Bloody amazing!

  • It is wonderful I felt like I am in a dream with purpur roses and a piece of heaven and

peace in me and everywhere, thanks for this wonder!!!

  • Fantastic - this is my fave classical piece - the Ameythist Quartet Rocks !!

  • bravo.....

  • I love saxophone chamber music, I think it's sad how the saxophone is never thought of as a classical instrument. Excellent job

  • @davidrbenham I agree! at least Ravel put the Saxophone in his orchestration of Pictures at an Exhibition!

  • @davidrbenham it took a lot of work to get any instrument considered classical... if i am right (which i may not be)... it took quite a long time to get the clarinet considered a classical instrument.... give it time!

  • This was surprisingly good! I usually don't think much of the saxophone family, but this was really, really great, and the sound of the saxes suited this baroque tune very well!

  • Very Nice!

  • This is phenomenal, but my praise has to ultimately go to your tenor player.

I know it's hard to blend well in your little duets with the soprano and alto and with the entire ensemble on such a (dare I say) awkward instrument.

With the quartet as a whole - Brilliant job.

You guys definitely deserved to win the Fischoff instead of some dumb string quartet. [:

  • beautiful blend between the tenor and alto

  • Right now I am a mischievous little fawn spring stepping along golden brook next to a picture perfect mountain side playing the pan flute in accordance to the tune above.I come to your village bearing nothing more than a smile and my own naturally vulgar appetite for the finer things in life.I am thee misunderstood lovechild denied by mother nature and cast aside to the bottomless abyss.I offer nothing more the freeing of thought and self but I'm bound under the weight of mine own cloven hoof.

  • @DrFrankLee you must be a real drag to get stuck next to at a dinner party ... btw, there's a difference between a faun and a fawn

  • @BernardProfitendieu I must be a real drag.OK let's see....I am not the one going around correcting people(diction nazi).SEE I may be a humble goat who does not know the difference between a fawn and a faun(enlighten me frenchie). But however, I can tell the difference a cool dude and a want to be know it all SMUG pretentious A hole with her nose up in the air like the queen of the Bastille Day Parade.WHATEVER WHO CARES RIGHT.I still find you candor refreshing(to say the least).Filthy Frenchman.

  • @DrFrankLee I let you get back to your brookside prancing then AHAHAHAHA!

  • @BernardProfitendieu OK before you so kindly allow me to get back to my "brookside prancing",BTW it is"I'll let you"not I LET YOU you sound like a caveman(now who's the grammar nazi haha)Also you should be flattered that I took the time to respond to the likes of you.Do you know how hard it is to type without fingers(IT SUCKS)the letters are way too small on the keyboard and I have to keep pounding the"backspace"with my sloping furry tender brow.Wanna hold my hoof(kidding)lets be friends(SIKE):)

  • Amazing! I like the speed. Baroque-music should be in a good speed to keep the bounce in it's very fondation. Now play Die Kunst der Fuge by Bach for me! I think Contrapuntcus VI would sound good with a saxophone-quartet.

  • Very nice :-)

  • nice:0)

  • Excellent. Great dynamics. Beautifully played. Great musicians. Thanks for sharing this.

  • The Best!!!!!

  • so well performed....but too fast

  • bravo

  • the best version I have heard, but a little to fast. you cannot play better than this. It was swinging jazz. Fantastic.

  • Still the best rendition I have seen of this masterpiece

  • badass performance!

  • bravo

  • aboslutley amazing. I am a former trombonist, and so, as a musician, I can appreciate the dififculty of this piece. I was prepared to be veyr critical, but was thoroughly amazed. Excellent work - tonality, pitch, breathing, all exceptional. well done, indeed!

  • the breeze of angels wings...

  • You can really hear the difference in tone between the would-be string and oboe parts.

  • is that putty on the left?

  • I normally hate saxophones, but their tone is charming

  • ditto :) this is amazing

  • really amazing!!! do someone has the music sheets???

  • Bloody Excellent Wear can I

book your group for a show

  • Amazingly beautiful!!!

  • Absolutely stunning guys! Does anybody know who did the arrangement of this piece? The only version I've found is an arrangement by Nascimben on Dorn Pub. I would appreciate it if anybody could help out. Keep up the excellent work!

  • The arrangement is by Jean-Yves Fourmeau and is published by Billaudot.

  • Thank you - I appreciate the information!

  • Bravo!!!! Well done gentlemen. :)

  • it's wonderful i lke so much!!! congratulations!!!

  • fantastic!!!

  • Lovely, amazing, awsome!!!!! I realy admire the skills you all show by playing this piece. Those fast notes with (as far as I heared) not one false note in it. You guys make me feel the exciting: The queen is coming! Well done, and Bravo!

  • very helpful for a comparison to the piano version i'm playing

  • Sounds excellent, if I may say so...

  • Bravo! Excellent. I love this quartet, and this rendition was amazing.

  • Excellant! Can you hear me clapping?

  • Awesome.

  • great job... sounds wicked

    raphaw

  • is the soprano sax player circular breathing?!

  • Superb

  • That vibrato!!

    You are playing baroque music!!

    Think in that style!!

The queen didn t run through the castle!!

It s a bit too quick!!

    Technically very brilliant!!

Mut imagine the right picture that comes with baroque music..

    Benny Eissens

    professional clarinet player in Holland

  • Dude, just because clarinetists don't use vibrato doesn't mean they have to go around hating those that do.

    And I liked the tempo.

  • I love the sound of the 4 types of sax blending together. Magical!
