Anyway, you need little black bits just above the red strips on the handles. Plus use the cricket bat for the handles rather than whatever it was you used. Then, go on your computer's "Control Panel" under the start button and go under "Sounds" (if you can't find it, just search "sound") then under "Manage Audio Devices" and click on the "Recording" Tab and right click the space with nothing and click "Show disabled devices" or something like that. then set "Stereo Mix" as your default.

@TheNocturnalAsylum Once you're on Wavepad Sound Editor, all you have to do is open a window with the application that you're using to play the music content (such as Itunes, Windows Media Player etc.), and turn up the volume because what you hear through the speakers is what your recording. Now press record on Wavepad and then press play on the Music application and let the song go until the end. Once it does reach the end, press the record or stop button again to stop recording the song.
