@teloabfabf so u came here on a jimi hendrix video/song just to type up comment about liking another guitarist (slash) more rather than talk about the song itself??? LAME!
@teloabfabf dude, look at the structure & the wording of your own comment, because it not that clear as to what it is you are talking about. "Learn to type jimi hendrix fashion fuck slash is" - what the fuck does that even mean?? you are no one to tell somebody how to properly type a coherent sentence lol
THANK YOU for getting the title of the song right! It's a silly pet peeve, but I don't understand why people think this song is called Message to Love.
there is one thing to say about the ppl who played with jimi aside from a few in the band of gypsys they were not up to par in live concerts and were often found to b off timing and if watch sum videos closely isle of wight in specific he keeps giving them dirty looks and tryn to help them thru the song to make the drummer get back on time. they almost ruined his concert even at the end he says peace love hapiness and all the bullshit/goodshit then drops his guitar and walks off.
@SirTokesAlot16 You gotta be kidding me? That's a heart wrentching statement. Those guys did the best they could. This music wouldn't be the same. This and all the music "they" made together is 1 of a kind! No imitations compare!
I'm a huge Hendrix fan, and with that said, It took me a LONG time to warm-up to Jimi's Band of Gypsy's - I'm glad I eventually got it! Better late than never, I guess.
His tone here, to this day remains the benchmark for guitarists to shoot for, IMHO of course. So pure and woody; during the leads it sounds like he could be playing an amplified cello. Go ahead and kick me for that remark!
Also, the playing is so tight that it could be mistaken for a studio-performed/produced album.
but just waiting to get out. I am chuffed to have the same initials as him, be quarter african with an afro and been playing guitar and writing for 12 and a half years. I feel some kind of connection with him, he died in london, i live in london near his death place. Check my tunes out please.
jimis playing makes me cry. He was so important to music, the endless diversity and earthly raw & natural sound is like no other, and has still not been replaced by any other mortal guitarist to this day.. not that jimi was mortal, thats why he died so young, coz the gods needed him back, n he knew hed left us enough. sooner or later he will return in reincarnated form. hes probably already here,
At this phase of Jimi's style, the guitar is actually creating an additional bounce to the chords. You can hear it again in another song of his that was recorded at the same time, called Earth Blues. Check it out. He just kept going higher and higher.
(And he was probably chewing gum, nonchalantly at the same time.)
1) Duane Allman: BEST ever R&R guitarist in terms of feel, emotion, heart, spirit, tone and musicianship..EVERY single note was heaven-sent and came directly from the Gods up above!...
2) Jimi Hendrix: BEST innovator, creative, diversified, multiple-sound-making guitarist EVER...Jimi has played with MUCHO heart, soul, tone, etc., but in this all important category was SECOND ONLY TO DUANE...
@MrMotthead69 I have to disagree, but I'm glad you love Duane haha. He's very underrated by people my age so sometimes I feel like I am the only person who appreciates him. I'm 19, so most people I talk to don't know about classic rock artists. The ones that do and have an interest in them just seem to neglect old Duane for some reason, I don't know why, he was incredible.
man i wish we can have another great artist who wants to do nothing else except spread love and music. music for the most part is saturated with negativity
btw, this isn't an previously unreleased version. It was on the Band of Gypsys album that came out just before Hendrix died. Excellent album. All live.
