I love this video compilation. It's called 'Play Out' and I have it on VHS. It's a gem. I loved all the demo versions of the songs that ended up on 'Wish'.
exactly the type of songs that made Cure one of the best British bands ever. The live versions are far better than the awful studio relase. Unfortunately it happend again with 4:13 Dream... the live versions in Rome are far, far better than the album versions ! Why has Robert Smith been ruining his music for the past 20 years ?
A far superior version than the awful album version. At the time a lot of fans thought that "Wish" would be better than "Disintegration", just because of this set of T&C live songs. Eventually "Wish" was a disappointment for many of them.
@JYFJYF This sounds nice but drums part is too simple. The album version got better arrangements and the wah-wah guitar parts with the unique Porl's style. Robert said he pretended a different objectives than the previous album and his mistake was not making Wish a double album. I agree, there are great B-sides of that era. I listened Wish prior to Disintegration and I found Wish a great album (except by Cut).
@simionTheOne i have the trilogy DVD for like 8 years and i still think he sucks. in fact, i was probably listening to the cure before you were born. give him a chance? he;s been the drummer since like 96, i think ive had time to form an opinion.
PLEASE!!! WE NEED THIS VHS AVAILABLE ON DVD SOON!!!!!!!

The cure at their best in a small venue, I'd cut a finger off to be there.

The Cure needs to have Boris back!!! This new guy sucks, period. I can't get into the flow of the music like with Boris... He takes us on a trip.

I don't know, mittrel. I used to have it recorded onto VHS, but I tossed all my tapes a couple of years ago.
Look on eBay for "Play Out", that was the name of the video, you might find a copy.
I like how they put the interview over the part of the song with the f-word.

Oh wow, I have this on Laserdisc! I haven't seen this in years.

yeah, this ver is better than the upbeat and shallower album version.

This was how 'Wendy Time' should have been recorded for the Wish album. It sounds very melodic. It's better than the album version.
