@Allen1628famm here an heads up, i will some be entering the rail mech dept and i will be posting some in shop stuff when i starting working. keep up the good work
When you took your trip to DC, did you stay there overnight? I'm wondering how feasible it would be for me to take a trip there, because I can't stay there overnight. I checked the train to DC from NYC costs $49 and its about a 3-4 hour ride. Take 7-8 hours for a round trip and I'd have very little time to railfan (if i wanted to get home in time without my parents knowing or being suspicious)
Also, if you stayed overnight, how much was the hotel/motel or did you stay with a friend?
@BMT7thAvenueExpress Its not worth coming to the DC area without staying overnight. There's so much to see, LOTS of walking, you'll be exhausted. If you stay in the WashMet suburbs and ride the Metro Bus to a metro station it'll be cheaper for a hotel stay than if you stay by a station. To stay in DC would be extremely expensive and I wouldn't advise it. Suburbs hotels like in Silver Spring between $100-200/night. Check the availability via the net.
Great vid, heck am in atanta and when we have and train go out of service its like pulling teeth to people to get off em!
