I started to give my baby a bit of cereal around the 4 month time. Um, they did sleep just a little longer, but you kinda have to watch out and make sure he doesnt get gassy.

Like 6 days ago my baby turned 2 months and he had his 2 month check up and he weighed 12 pounds and when he was born he was 6 and he was 23 1/2 inches and when he was born he was 19 1/2 inch. So he is growing faster above 75/100 babies. THEY GROW UP SO FAST! but he can't really stand cause he has mild clubfeet on both feet so he's getting those check next week. I want to give him cereal when he's like 3 or 3 1/2.... Aww your baby is so cute
you can start giving it to him whenever you want its totally up 2 u most ppl dnt recommend you give them cereal until 5 or 6 months bcuz of allergies or ear infections but every baby is different it def will help him sleep thru the night though

Tiff do what ever you want, from the studies I have read starting cereal at 4 mos or any earlier has been show to result in obesity, ear infections and more but mothers have started their babies on cereal at the time it's recommended not to and their babies have been fine. It was MY opinion because you asked EVERYONE, in the end you will do what you want and what your doctor recommends. But remember doctors do not specialize in Nutrition :-)

Cereal was my lifeSAVER lol I gave it to my son at 4 months when he was able to hold his head up but I started with one serving at night and then when he turned 5 months I started giving it from a soft spoon and he was opening his mouth! I mean every child is different but ask his doctor to see if you can give it to him now.

I'm on WIC and they gave me his first voucher for cereal at 6 months. I still mainly BF though so it may be different for you. Mine is 7 months now but was sleeping all through the night since he was about 3-4 months so no problems there!
I recommend starting at 4 months. It reduces the risk of your baby developing any allergies, but definitely start thin, and as you progress go thicker.
I'm the oldest of 9 but the ages they started cereal varies... The earliest one of them started was a little over 2 months. Cereal does help babies sleep longer. If you want to introduce it to him then start adding it in the bottle he gets before he goes to sleep. You will see a big difference in how long he sleeps!

I am wondering the same thing about the cereal my mom wants to start him now (the earliest I have heard was 4 weeks :0) but all moms say the same thing, making direct eye contact with you when feeding and hungrier after feeding. Some of my september moms (on my birth board) are already inquiring it helps with reflux. I am going to start my son in a couple of weeks. I am so drained (I EBF) and he nurses for 2-4 hours before bed and wakes up twice for more.

Honestly, every baby is different. Recommended guidelines are just that..."recommended." I respect science, but doctors don't know your baby like you do. It's up to you, really...not to mention the fact that a lot of times, people giving parenting/baby advice sometimes AREN'T parents. LOL
depending on ur child if they're drooling already. most drs say DONT give ur baby any kind of food until 6 months bcuz its to harsh on their little tummies. but u can strt mixing cereal with the formula mix it together to start off

DO NOT give your baby cereal before six months. They don't say six months for no reason, its to give them time for their little organs to fully develop and be able to process the food. Trust me there is no rush!
My niece turns 4 months tomorrow and we've been giving her cereal for about 3 weeks now. The sleeping has stayed the same, 3-4 hours. I don't know if the cereal is a good thing now only because she'll drink 8 oz. sometimes even 9 and she will scream like we're killing her once we take it out her mouth. Her 4 month appt was today and she's 26 inches and 17.4 oz. I think Jaiden is gonna be a big boy lol.
I've known of mothers that pour a very small amount of cereal in the baby's milk as early as 2 months. Just because it seemed as if the baby wasnt getting full off of milk alone.
Yeah, my hubby and I ALWAYS started our daughters on cereal at around 3 months. They definitely give you clues (i.e., seemingly still hungry after feedings, drooling, etc.) So...yeah, I think 3 months is a good time, but go slowly and start from thin to thick as far as mixing it. You DEFINITELY don't want a constipated baby boy on your hands. BTW: My three month old daughter was smiling at little Jaiden the whole video. What a handsome little guy he is.

The certified papers say to give baby cereal at 6 months. But when their tongue stops thrusting in and out of their mouths is a safe time to give them cereal as well. It says to start them off with just 1-2 tbl spoons bc their stomach is still the size of a egg (7month stomach)

I gave my daughter cereal in her formula from when she was a month old because the formula she used was too thin for her to keep down and her doctor recommended it. I would check with his doctor first due to the fact that most babies start cereal around the 4-6 month mark depending on if he's ready. P.S. He is a cutie pie!!
mini tj! as for tge cereal, id ask the doctor when its best then based off the answer u determine when to start is right for you all. to my understanding, it does make them sleep longer. ill be a first time mom soon and that is what ill be doing. take care.

I'm on WIC and they gave me his first voucher for cereal at 6 months. I still mainly BF though so it may be different for you. Mine is 7 months now but was sleeping all through the night since he was about 3-4 months so no problems there!

I recommend starting at 4 months. It reduces the risk of your baby developing any allergies, but definitely start thin, and as you progress go thicker.

I'm the oldest of 9 but the ages they started cereal varies... The earliest one of them started was a little over 2 months. Cereal does help babies sleep longer. If you want to introduce it to him then start adding it in the bottle he gets before he goes to sleep. You will see a big difference in how long he sleeps!

I am wondering the same thing about the cereal my mom wants to start him now (the earliest I have heard was 4 weeks :0) but all moms say the same thing, making direct eye contact with you when feeding and hungrier after feeding. Some of my september moms (on my birth board) are already inquiring it helps with reflux. I am going to start my son in a couple of weeks. I am so drained (I EBF) and he nurses for 2-4 hours before bed and wakes up twice for more.

Honestly, every baby is different. Recommended guidelines are just that..."recommended." I respect science, but doctors don't know your baby like you do. It's up to you, really...not to mention the fact that a lot of times, people giving parenting/baby advice sometimes AREN'T parents. LOL

depending on ur child if they're drooling already. most drs say DONT give ur baby any kind of food until 6 months bcuz its to harsh on their little tummies. but u can strt mixing cereal with the formula mix it together to start off

DO NOT give your baby cereal before six months. They don't say six months for no reason, its to give them time for their little organs to fully develop and be able to process the food. Trust me there is no rush!

My niece turns 4 months tomorrow and we've been giving her cereal for about 3 weeks now. The sleeping has stayed the same, 3-4 hours. I don't know if the cereal is a good thing now only because she'll drink 8 oz. sometimes even 9 and she will scream like we're killing her once we take it out her mouth. Her 4 month appt was today and she's 26 inches and 17.4 oz. I think Jaiden is gonna be a big boy lol.

I've known of mothers that pour a very small amount of cereal in the baby's milk as early as 2 months. Just because it seemed as if the baby wasnt getting full off of milk alone.

Yeah, my hubby and I ALWAYS started our daughters on cereal at around 3 months. They definitely give you clues (i.e., seemingly still hungry after feedings, drooling, etc.) So...yeah, I think 3 months is a good time, but go slowly and start from thin to thick as far as mixing it. You DEFINITELY don't want a constipated baby boy on your hands. BTW: My three month old daughter was smiling at little Jaiden the whole video. What a handsome little guy he is.

The certified papers say to give baby cereal at 6 months. But when their tongue stops thrusting in and out of their mouths is a safe time to give them cereal as well. It says to start them off with just 1-2 tbl spoons bc their stomach is still the size of a egg (7month stomach)

I did little sprinkles at 3 months cuz he was hungry all the time. didnt sleep longer at all. Not until 5.5 almost 6 months i started 1/2 or 3/4 scoops of it.

I gave my daughter cereal in her formula from when she was a month old because the formula she used was too thin for her to keep down and her doctor recommended it. I would check with his doctor first due to the fact that most babies start cereal around the 4-6 month mark depending on if he's ready. P.S. He is a cutie pie!!

mini tj! as for tge cereal, id ask the doctor when its best then based off the answer u determine when to start is right for you all. to my understanding, it does make them sleep longer. ill be a first time mom soon and that is what ill be doing. take care.
