  • Steve Goggins first man to squat 1100 pounds!!!!!!!!!!! and deep!!!!!!!!!

    ****Powerlifting Watch.com****

  • now that's a squat

  • Squat or good morning?!?!

  • I could probably squat around 180lbs, funny thing is even with no extra weight other than my top half it starts to ache after 15+ seconds of holding parallel a while. I have fairly buff legs but why is it that holding a parallel squat starts to burn really fast even with no extra weight? I can hold a much greater % of maximum strength in a static position with other muscles like my biceps e.g a 90degree assisted chin up position. What gives? Why do my quads fill with lactate so fast when static?

  • Gosh combined muscle tension (quads and but) must be 6000lbs or more! Seeing as there is a mechanical disadvantage - i.e. the muscles contract a short distance to move the limb end a longer distance. And to support that sort of weight on the end of a femur. His bones must be 3 inches thick or so!!

  • Fred Hatfield has thee best video recorded squat EVER! How they should all be done. He handled 1000lb squats like toys. Regular racks, no squat forklift. This was in the 1980's even!

  • By far the deepest 1100lbs+ squat ever. All these powerlifters setting these new high records usually do so with high squats, but not this guy. He should be deemed a legend along with the rest of the legends like Ed Coan, Kirk Kolawski etc.

  • jesus that's like a good morning it's so deep

  • 0:25 702 POUNDSS

  • @Serze69 theyre Ivanko 100's not 45's the 100's are green with two silver rings on the outside

  • ...Sick.... Parallel with half a tone....I can't find fucking words to describe his strengh.

  • @DanielSel Mike miller cant even break parallel.

  • Impressive.

  • LMAO MANYPLATE!!11!!

  • @DanielSel Mike Miller weighed 75 lbs more and that 1220 was nowhere near parallel

  • @DanielSel Mike miller squatted 2 inches above parrallel

  • OMG!!!!!!He went down with that!.....unlike other so called world record holders.

  • @DanielSel MIke Miller did not crush him, that was a deep ass squat, Miller barely qualifies as a 3/4 squat, not that it wasn't impressive nonetheless

  • brutal!!!

  • @DanielSel Mike Miller didn't even touch the parallel...

  • !!!!! SQ 1102LB !!!!!

  • people stop saying "this is not raw" or whatever, this is fuking 1102lbs come on!!! if you can get to squat that with a suit and everything you want, please be my guest.

  • Dude I am a raw lifter and hear you 100%...No matter what it takes a big set of balls to get under that!

  • @tlast2O12dude That isn't the argument, the point is that you won't know how much of the squat came from the suit.

  • one of the deepest 1000+ squats i've seen

  • if im not mistaken he put the bar on his back and broke 90degrees then came back up with out anyone touching the bar. I think that is called squating. no matter how it looked he did what was required. give him his props

  • that was a half squat and half spinal extension.

  • yeah, i love you too, and have fun with your spinal extensions mate XD

  • is that kimbo slice?

  • aite big cuzin I see u..

  • Strongest lower back EVER. LEGEND!

  • This is just in my opinion, but monolifts and all this gear is ruining the true sport of powerlifting. Half of the difficulty of the squat is backing out of the rack with the weight. I wish they would slow down and get back to the roots of powerlifting a little more.

  • I agree.

  • As long as people keep breaking records it's not gonna stop. I wouldn't be surprised if they start allowing some sort of piston-driven biomechanical bench-shirt enhancements for bench press. There's no purity left in the hobby anymore.

  • people will be benching 10 metric tons for reps, using bench shirts that are powered exo-skeletons ;)

  • I powerlift and at my meets we have to back out not like this shit where you don't have to move.

  • The lift is the squat though, nobody is judging how well you walk out, so why waste the energy.

The walkout in my opinion is also the most dangerous part when you get to heavy weights.

  • The problem many people have with the monolift is that it allows really wide stances which are not possible when you have to walk it out, basically letting you get more out of the gear, shorter range of motion etc. Personally I only follow raw lifting.

  • Well raw lifting is great too. At this point raw and equpped lifting is two different sports. And when I was competing in single ply meets where I walked the weight out I put my feet just as wide as I do now that I compete in the IPA and AAPF, ect.

  • Then why exactly are you commenting on and watching an equipped lift? 1100 is amazing whether in a monolift, equipped to the gills, doesn't really matter, most people couldn't even lift that out of a monolift let alone squat it. Raw lifters please stop pretending that gear makes a lifter, if you are so convinced then why don't you put up and shut up.

  • Sorry that came off a bit off. I respect geared lifting and it is impressive to have insane weight like that and no the gear doesn't do the work. I should have just said I prefer raw.

  • he freakin goodmorning that crap

  • Regarding the subject of depth,,,,,,, do a search for squat precision which detects perfect, legal squat depth for ANY federation.

  • actually not really Mike Miller's 1220 squat should not have counted he wasnt below parallel he even knew that he said he wanted the world record to be taken off because he wasn't parallel so shut up seriously

  • he curshed him did he ??

    tosser.

  • @PowerliftingUK Well said!

  • Starke Leistung!

  • hes my personal trainer!

  • that would be more impresive without the suit

  • No shit?

  • And even more so if he did it on one leg! Now your point is?

  • hes a beast

  • what a laugh all those assholes with there non lifts.Get real.

  • HEVI SIET

  • Incredible. Totally illegal as per IPF standards but nevertheless mindblowing. Any idea how much he squatted under IPF regulations?

  • f+@#ing incredible. I remember when I was a kid reading stuff by Fred Hatfeild, saying things like 'one the day the 1000lb squat will be a reality.' what dedication to hit the gym until this sort of thing can even be considered by a lifter!

  • i don't think fred thought it would take 3 ply suits, and cutting depth by an inch.

  • Funny that quote from Dr. Squat. He was one

of the first to squat over 1000 and for quite some time was the lightest and oldest to do that.

  • And with a good range of motion/stance and not insane gear.

  • what federation and what kind of suit ?

  • KraftsportNo, It was in the WPO. Also I dont know exactly what he was squating in, but it seems to be poly. So I would guess a double ply poly, proably the old Titan Boss suit, though I could be wrong.
