A fetus is nothing but a parasite until it is released from the whom which then it can live by itself not feeding on another. Before then it requires a host and for a short while is identical to every other mammel in existance. Thus a fetus is not a human.
@kookykoala333 Your premises are entirely false. Consider: a premature baby is a dependent "parasite" on the incubator that keeps it alive. So, is it not a human being? Similarly, breastfeeding infants. (Btw, a parasite is of a different species to the host; OTOH, gestation is a part of mammalian development.)
"Identical to every other mammal in existence" is totally inaccurate. It fails to explain the obvious: why it develops into a more fully mature HUMAN BEING instead of something different.
all u liberals and pro-choice believers out there will have to stand before God at the end of time and explain why you supported the murders of so many lives.and trust me; you wont be able to even speak.
Why don't people ever talk about embryo adoption, which is actually effective. I strongly believe that some women are victims also. Abortion clinics only tell people what they want them to hear, even if that means lying, and they are known to pressure and scare young girls into abortion. I knew one girl who was a healthy thirteen year old, and was pregnant, who wanted to put the baby up for adoption. She was forced by her dad, and cornered by an abortionist to kill her baby. Choice, whatever
This man has no place talking about women's rights, as no man does (BTW I'm a guy),.
Pro-lifers should just think about the fact that human suffering is a direct result of human overpopulation. Overpopulation causes every social and environmental problem we know. Well, greed and ignorance help cause our problems, but all I know is adding more people to the planet is not going to help anything.
"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."
Abortion is NOT delegated to the US by the Constitution, and it is NOT prohibited by the States,
THEREFORE, each State should decide what abortion laws they want.
i rember something in there in bill of rights' no person shall be denied freedom or life with out due process of the law'something like that.can you covict an unborn babe of muder?
"most people who get them are ordinary but have become pregnant under horrible circumstances".
Most people who get abortions don't want a child (or another one). Only around 17% can't afford it. And they didn't get pregnant under horrible circumstances, they chose to have unprotected sex and took the risk of pregnancy. They should be held responsible for their actions.
He is also right when he says that abortion has "devalued" human life. The murder of Terri Schiavo by the courts in the state of Florida is proof of that.
I reject the premise that abortion is a fundamental right. It was a bad law that was passed based on a lie. Even Wade from "Roe vs. Wade" admits that later. Now, she is very PRO LIFE. As to the silly claim that abortion is a constitutional right; I read the constitution and it didn't say anything in there about a mother having the right to terminate the baby in her womb!
Also Sandra Cano of Doe v. Bolton also exposed the lies in bringing her case, and is now pro-life.
You should know the maker of the first birth control pill came out this week with his regrets and talked about the effects on male fertility due to hormones in our water systems since the pill was introduced.
I am totally in favour of abortions when necessary.
Id like to go on a different tack. Would all these anti abortionists be in favour of putting to death all the women who have abortions, after all, they think abortion is murder.
you said Males have no right to say anything in this matter.
Yes we do!!! The last time I check, it takes two to make a baby. Men have just as much right on this issue as a woman. Talk about being sexist. What if I said women can't vote because only men can be President. Women can be president and men can vote pro life or pro choice.
No. First of all if you want to go to possession is 9/10ths of the law. Who's DNA does that baby have? To be fair it should have a guardian, since it's a separate person. Does a man have a say in child support? How about child custody? And do you feel about Schiavo being starved to death for 13 days? You have to admit, even death row executions are rallied against for lethal injection. She wasn't terminal. Factors such is migration, murder, child abuse and no respect come from this.
So I'm not suppose to value human life because I'm a male??? Everyone of us were in the womb at one point, so NO ONE is safe with abortion being legal.
this is easy abortion is wrong dont do it. If you think it is right than if it was possible to go back in time than you should be aborted! Do you like it than! Did you enjoy your life? If you dont like it than you made it that way
Let's say a woman is raped and carries the baby to term and delivers a baby boy. Then the day after he's born she decides she wants to kill him because he reminds her of the violent man who raped her. Should she be allowed to kill the baby? My answer is to your question is the same as your answer to mine.
Moses was angry with the officers of the army who returned from the battle. "Have you allowed all the women to live?" he asked them. "They were the ones who followed Balaam's advice and were the means of turning the Israelites away from the LORD in what happened at Peor, so that a plague struck the LORD's people. Now kill all the boys. And kill every girl who has slept with a man, but save for yourselves every girl who has never slept with a man.[Num 31:14-18] note: girls may have been pregnant
Your question is implying that the fetus is a human being?
No, the answer to my question is not the same as your question.
At that given point, she should be able to have the option of putting him up for adoption. That option is available. Murdering the neonatal baby is not.
My question? Should abortion be available if rape was in the picture?
Abortion in the case of rape and incest amounts to 1% of Abortion procedures. And Roe vs Wade is about abortion on demand. It is as if a person breaks the law by speeding to a hospital in most cases special circumstances can be looked at on a State level. Abortion is not protected in the Constitution.
The biggest problems with this debate is that 1) People say that abbortion is a constitutional right, when none of them know what Roe V. Wade said. 2) It is made into a religious issue, when it isn't and never was, no more than murder and other crimes are religious issues. 3) Labels like Pro Choice and Pro Life obscure what the issue at hand actually is. Roe v. Wade was an unconstitutional decision, where courts made law.
He mentions 35 million dead to the genocide of abortion. Well this is only the United States. In my research in the last 50-60 years WORLDWIDE the murder rate of this genocide is over 300,000,000 (conservatively). Yes by numbers it is the greatest genocide in all of human history.
Biologicaly, the embryo is distinctly different then any other somatic cell or gamete.

...none of us was ever a sperm cell or an ovum—the sperm and ovum from whose union we emerged were genetically and functionally parts of other human beings—each of us was once an embryo, just as we were once infants, children, and adolescents.
Now that skin cells can be converted to stem cells; which in theory can produce an entire new human being; are you committing mass murder when you shave in the morning and destroy some flecks of skin?
"Now that skin cells can be converted to stem cells; which in theory can produce an entire new human being; are you committing mass murder when you shave in the morning and destroy some flecks of skin?"
Well... that depends. If I leave those skin cells alone and let them run their natural course, will my face be covered with babies in nine months?
Newmac has a point, not only can we get stem cells from skin, and umbilical cord blood, but also baby teeth. should we ban the removal of those too? should we mourn the loose of every tooth?
"If I leave those skin cells alone and let them run their natural course." no the sex cells that you and i produce need to be manulipated just like the stem cells do.

"what gives you the political/social right to intervene in a woman's life?"
You can use all of your non-scientific propaganda slogans etc., but science has proved beyond a doubt that after conception an individual human being exists. So your question is mute. It's really no different than a mother who leaves her baby in a dumpster right after it's born and then claims: my rights, my body etc.. You've bought the lie.
no, what makes it so human? higher brain function! DNA dosnt mean anything, yes it has human DNA, but so dose everything that comes from an human... hair, skin, spit etc.
I'm done arguing about this, when you have obviously not taken anything I have said into slight consideration because of your faith.
The bottom line is that this issue is too controversial to sit there and go "ok, it's illegal because we said so."
Everyone knows its wrong to steal, kill, etc. But all it comes down to in the end is: is it really "killing" as you so harshly put it? And you cant say it is because you cant say whether ornot it is an actual person, that is opinion.
I challange you to look honestly at the evidence about when life begins from both pro-life and nuetral scientific sources and then tell me it's just an opinion.
"is it really "killing" as you so harshly put it? And you cant say it is because you cant say whether or not it is an actual person, that is opinion." Do you realize your only stating your opinion as well? Either there is truth or there is not. Science has proved that unborn babies are human beings. Plain and simple. Abortion cuts off the life of that human therefore it is killing regardless of how many catchy slogans we come up with to justify our selfishness.
You can't legislate certain opinions above others. In your opinion, it's a human life to be protected. In my opinion, it's a parasite until it is born, and therefore the women's rights surmounts the parasites. That's like saying "in my opinion, gays are sinners so now we're going to pass a law that gays cant marry". Oh, wait. That's already happening. A seperation between state and church is being ignored, and THAT is where the problem is.
"You can't legislate certain opinions above others. In your opinion"
All laws are based on morality whether you care to admit it or not. If I feel it's ok to steal from you and then tell you that you're trying to legislate your opinion that I'm wrong are you going to accept that? Of course not. What is a "sinner" if there is no such thing as right or wrong?
It's all about opinion. So keep it legal, and it is the only way that we can come close to fairness. Those who don't consider it a person until it is born, the option is there. If you think it's a person, then dont get one. You just cant push it on people.
Pro Choice means that we understand that there is more than we know and can possibly judge. Pro choice isnt pro death. I'm pro choice but I'm not saying that everyone considering an abortion should have one. I'm saying that our government needs to give them the choice as to what to do with their body.
"I'm pro choice but I'm not saying that everyone considering an abortion should have one"
The problem with your argument is that it does not consider the individual life that is being destroyed through the abortion decision. Slave holders used the same logic because after all the supreme court said that blacks were not fully human.
The problem with your argument is that women are going to have abortions whether or not it is legal. The only difference is whether one life or two will be lost in the process. You care so much about the fetus, and the fetus' rights that you completely forget to take this into consideration. And comparing this to slavery is ridiculous. There is a huge difference between a human life and a fetus. Yeah, I know, now I'll get bashed for that statement.
"People will have abortions anyway." Yes and no. There would be millions less abortions every year and so many women would be saved from a life of regret and pain of knowing that they have killed their baby. And even if some would have abortions anyway we do not legalize drug use or child porn or murder just because people will do it anyway. Sometimes laws are made to protect people from themselves as well as to protect others.
You know, not all people who have abortions live a life of regret and pain. Please don't say that thanks to abortions being outlawed that it will save so many women from a life of pain and regret. It may actually create a life of pain and regret, the fact that they werent able to make a decision about their own body.
The baby has a seperate heart and DNA. This is not about a woman's rights over her own body. Taking your logic to the extreme will allow mothers to kill their babies outside of the womb as well. An American ethicist has already proposed this.
Until it is born into the world and becomes an actual seperate person, I don't think it's the same thing. Like parasites, sure they're living things but if it can only live off of another human being that person has the right to do with their body what they want.
Abortions are legal thourhgout all nine months. Babies can survive outside the womb earlier than that. Are you for certain restrictions on a womans right to abort?
And what I mean by there's a difference between a human life and a fetus, is that I do not consider a fetus (at a certain stage) to be an actual human being. You may believe that and that is fine, just dont try to make me believe it. This is why it's so controversial, because everyone has different definitions about when a fetus is considered another human life. I dont think it's a human until a certain point.
"I dont think it's a human until a certain point."
The US Supreme Court ruled once that blacks and Indians were not fully human. Were they right? Does having an opinion or making a law make one correct or is there an objective truth beyond what someone believes or law says is ok? Why does this standard not apply to abortion? It is either a baby or it's not. Either you are right or I am. If I am correct then the baby deserves to be protected just as any other human being.
"The US Supreme Court ruled once that blacks and Indians were not fully human."
This is completely different from a fetus. Honestly, one is just an example of racism, and the other calls for a scientific definition to be made on when exactly a fetus can be considered a human. In my opinion, until that point is determined and set as a standard, the fetus is just a parasite.
In your opinion only. Look at the science honestly and you may change your mind. The humanity of the unborn has been proved beyond a shadow of a doubt. The Nazis were decided jews etc. were not human, the supreme court blacks and Indians, America... babies inside the womb. Sorry but there is really no difference in the comparisons. It's really quite frightening that so many people in this country could willingly buy into this lie. Who's next?
Honestly, you cannot compare me to a nazi or a rasict. All I'm saying is that the government has no say in what women do with their bodies, and YES, women will get abortions with or without it being legal. They have before and they will continue after, take both lives into consideration. It's a shame to lose one but an even bigger tragedy to lose two. I would never get an abortion but I think our government is being unfair by not seperating church and state.
I'm not calling you a Nazi just making the point that people were able to kill Jews as well because they were convince they were not people. It is rather racist though to deny a person it's most basic human right (that of life) out of convinience. You may be unwitting in your racism but you have devalued millions of humans based on their state of growth and address.
I think you may have missed the point of the interview. The entire pro-abortion movement is based on the belief that abortion is a right found in the US constitution. The point is that it cannot be found in this document nor would any of the framers of our nation have agreed with the idea of abortion rights. America finally had to face up to the fact that slavery was unjust and abortion must meet the same fate if we are to survive as a nation.
No, I understood the point. However, I think you cannot say that just because our "founding fathers" did not put something in the constitution (like abolition or abortion or women's vote) doesn't mean its not something we should have. And we do now, thanks to amendments. You need to read up on those. Try the fourteenth amendment and the due process clause. Roe v Wade established that the right to privacy need be extended to abortion.
What a silly argument you make. No one is "pro-abortion". We're pro-choice. Read the 9th & 4th Amendment. Read the the Supreme Court rulings from 1965 on. Just READ!!! Privacy IS covered under these Amendments.
You can mask abortion with phrases like "pro-choice, "personal rights" and "right to privacy" but the fact remains that a seperate individual human life is being destroyed and denied it's personhood just as Jews and Blacks were denied theirs.
It falls under the 4th Amendment; "PRIVACY". Why is that so hard for seemingly intelligent people to understand. If you want to talk "slippery slopes"? If we allow the Federal Government into every women's uterus, then that's about as slippery as it gets.
That's a totally asinine comment. The 4th amendment protects your property from unreasonable SEARCH and SEIZURES. I suppose you are going to tell me that it's a matter or privacy if a person wants to "put their infant to sleep"? There is no "right to privacy" in the constitution in the firstplace - NONE, it's a complete lie.
The decision also makes it clear that the right(4th Ammnd.) "has some extension to activities relating to marriage; procreation; contraception; family relationships; and child rearing and education."
What is truly "asinine" is you equating the distruction of a fetus with the murder of a child. Your argument is repugnant.
Why don't you read the constitution for yourself...in fact, all of you liberals should read the whole thing if you get a few minutes from your busy schedule.
Also, you laugh when I bring up infantcide but the same arguments that a lot of pro-choicers using about a fetus having no "cognizance" can be applied to infants? Do you remember being an infant?
The 9th Amendment covers funamental rights not set forth in the Consitution. Which is why, in 1965 the court ruled that 'privacy' was just such a right; it was in a case involving contraception. Later, in another more famous case, the court also stated that a person's right to choose contraception or abortion is "central to personal dignity and autonomy", and that "privacy was covered under the 4th Amendment." Read up Bob.

StormMarc 4 years ago
It's all about opinion. So keep it legal, and it is the only way that we can come close to fairness. Those who don't consider it a person until it is born, the option is there. If you think it's a person, then dont get one. You just cant push it on people.

"It's all about opinion. So keep it legal"
Question: How do we know something is wrong? What is the standard by which we just these things?

Pro Choice means that we understand that there is more than we know and can possibly judge. Pro choice isnt pro death. I'm pro choice but I'm not saying that everyone considering an abortion should have one. I'm saying that our government needs to give them the choice as to what to do with their body.

"I'm pro choice but I'm not saying that everyone considering an abortion should have one"
The problem with your argument is that it does not consider the individual life that is being destroyed through the abortion decision. Slave holders used the same logic because after all the supreme court said that blacks were not fully human.
StormMarc 4 years ago

StormMarc 4 years ago
You know, not all people who have abortions live a life of regret and pain. Please don't say that thanks to abortions being outlawed that it will save so many women from a life of pain and regret. It may actually create a life of pain and regret, the fact that they werent able to make a decision about their own body.
kkatiemlovee 4 years ago
The baby has a seperate heart and DNA. This is not about a woman's rights over her own body. Taking your logic to the extreme will allow mothers to kill their babies outside of the womb as well. An American ethicist has already proposed this.
StormMarc 4 years ago
Until it is born into the world and becomes an actual seperate person, I don't think it's the same thing. Like parasites, sure they're living things but if it can only live off of another human being that person has the right to do with their body what they want.
kkatiemlovee 4 years ago
Abortions are legal thourhgout all nine months. Babies can survive outside the womb earlier than that. Are you for certain restrictions on a womans right to abort?
StormMarc 4 years ago
And what I mean by there's a difference between a human life and a fetus, is that I do not consider a fetus (at a certain stage) to be an actual human being. You may believe that and that is fine, just dont try to make me believe it. This is why it's so controversial, because everyone has different definitions about when a fetus is considered another human life. I dont think it's a human until a certain point.
kkatiemlovee 4 years ago
"I dont think it's a human until a certain point."
The US Supreme Court ruled once that blacks and Indians were not fully human. Were they right? Does having an opinion or making a law make one correct or is there an objective truth beyond what someone believes or law says is ok? Why does this standard not apply to abortion? It is either a baby or it's not. Either you are right or I am. If I am correct then the baby deserves to be protected just as any other human being.
StormMarc 4 years ago
"The US Supreme Court ruled once that blacks and Indians were not fully human."
This is completely different from a fetus. Honestly, one is just an example of racism, and the other calls for a scientific definition to be made on when exactly a fetus can be considered a human. In my opinion, until that point is determined and set as a standard, the fetus is just a parasite.
kkatiemlovee 4 years ago
"This is completely different from a fetus."
Who's next?
StormMarc 4 years ago
Honestly, you cannot compare me to a nazi or a rasict. All I'm saying is that the government has no say in what women do with their bodies, and YES, women will get abortions with or without it being legal. They have before and they will continue after, take both lives into consideration. It's a shame to lose one but an even bigger tragedy to lose two. I would never get an abortion but I think our government is being unfair by not seperating church and state.
kkatiemlovee 4 years ago
I'm not calling you a Nazi just making the point that people were able to kill Jews as well because they were convince they were not people. It is rather racist though to deny a person it's most basic human right (that of life) out of convinience. You may be unwitting in your racism but you have devalued millions of humans based on their state of growth and address.

The founding fathers also thought black people should be enslaved. I don't think they were very nice.

StormMarc 5 years ago
No, I understood the point. However, I think you cannot say that just because our "founding fathers" did not put something in the constitution (like abolition or abortion or women's vote) doesn't mean its not something we should have. And we do now, thanks to amendments. You need to read up on those. Try the fourteenth amendment and the due process clause. Roe v Wade established that the right to privacy need be extended to abortion.
rosario123 5 years ago
What a silly argument you make. No one is "pro-abortion". We're pro-choice. Read the 9th & 4th Amendment. Read the the Supreme Court rulings from 1965 on. Just READ!!! Privacy IS covered under these Amendments.
JHAWade 4 years ago
You can mask abortion with phrases like "pro-choice, "personal rights" and "right to privacy" but the fact remains that a seperate individual human life is being destroyed and denied it's personhood just as Jews and Blacks were denied theirs.
StormMarc 4 years ago
By the way do you call people against abortion "pro-lifers" or do you say they are: "anti-choice" or "anti abortion"?
StormMarc 4 years ago
It falls under the 4th Amendment; "PRIVACY". Why is that so hard for seemingly intelligent people to understand. If you want to talk "slippery slopes"? If we allow the Federal Government into every women's uterus, then that's about as slippery as it gets.
JHAWade 5 years ago
That's a totally asinine comment. The 4th amendment protects your property from unreasonable SEARCH and SEIZURES. I suppose you are going to tell me that it's a matter or privacy if a person wants to "put their infant to sleep"? There is no "right to privacy" in the constitution in the firstplace - NONE, it's a complete lie.
BillyBawb 5 years ago
The decision also makes it clear that the right(4th Ammnd.) "has some extension to activities relating to marriage; procreation; contraception; family relationships; and child rearing and education."
What is truly "asinine" is you equating the distruction of a fetus with the murder of a child. Your argument is repugnant.
JHAWade 5 years ago
Why don't you read the constitution for yourself...in fact, all of you liberals should read the whole thing if you get a few minutes from your busy schedule.
Also, you laugh when I bring up infantcide but the same arguments that a lot of pro-choicers using about a fetus having no "cognizance" can be applied to infants? Do you remember being an infant?
BillyBawb 4 years ago
The 9th Amendment covers funamental rights not set forth in the Consitution. Which is why, in 1965 the court ruled that 'privacy' was just such a right; it was in a case involving contraception. Later, in another more famous case, the court also stated that a person's right to choose contraception or abortion is "central to personal dignity and autonomy", and that "privacy was covered under the 4th Amendment." Read up Bob.
