george hearn was so handsome! aww :) love him. he has the most unmistakably awesome voice of any man i've ever heard! i was cleaning my dorm while the golden girls was playing and i heard him singing and was like "wait....george hearn?" you can tell it's him the minute he opens his mouth! so wonderful <3
I didn't realize what an incredible performance George Hearne gave until I saw/heard other amazing renditions. The newer stars with their younger voices give it flair, and perhaps make a more feminine Zaza, but the emotion and strength in this version has no parallel. Paramount.
@JAMbannana You do realize that clothes, male or female are completely human constructs, right? God did not ever tell men they had to wear pants or women they had to wear skirts, so that's not really an argument, I've seen your comments on other videos.
@ajbdancer like which vids. And according to God men are suppose to be Masculine and women are suppose to be feminine. plus men look SUPPER ugly in women's cloths.
@LeftofWrong No calling me a bigot is calling me a name. And I forgive you for calling me a bigot. But I'll insult u one time. YOUR A YANKY AND NOT A BASEBALL TEAM YOUR AN EVIL NEW YORKER YANKY WHO BELIEVES IN SPREADING AIDS AND GAY MARRIAGE AND ABORTIONS ARE OK. YANKYS ARE EVIL AND SOUTHERNERS ARE RAISED RIGHT.
@LeftofWrong It may sound stupid but it's the worst insult in the South. I called my friend a YANKY one time and she almost cried. She was being a bitch.
One of the most superb productions I have ever seen. Bravo to George Hearn and Gene Barry. Those dancers were all incredible, and I was sitting in a special box seat practically hanging over the stage! WOW!!!
About two notes into Mr. Hearn's performance I thought..."SWEENEY TODD!"
his voice is soooooooooo distinctive and beautiful. I'm just starting to grow into a fan of his (obviously having heard him in Sweeney Todd first) and he is just fantastic.
I was thinking not to like this, but when I read the synopsis, it makes me wonder despite of men dressed up as drag queens, this maybe not so bad. The question is...did they kiss eachother?
To think I auditioned for the original cast 2x. Too short. This was the definitive version of the show. Magnificent! We rarely see anything this perfect on stage anymore. Thank you Jerry and Scott! And have you ever seen such EXQUISITE costumes?!!!!
@carriewhite410 no, you're not alone. i had the same reaction. i was like "goerge hearn in drag? this should be amazing!" and then he wasn't. and i was sad.
@ItachiGurl yes. i'm a drag queen and if i don't feel like waxing i wear around 4 pairs of dance tights to hide the hair and shape my legs and hide my hip and butt padding
@ItachiGurl I would advise using some kind of additional way to keep them up though, suspenders or something. I wore 3 pairs of dancing tights and 2 pairs of fashion thights during carnival (for warmth mostly) underneath my costume, and NOTHING is more annoying than noticing one of the layers sliding away and trying to modestly pull them back up is impossible, as the only way to get in them is to completely strip, untangle and pull everything back on in order. Makes for long bathroom visits.
