Ive had numerous L series engines. Almost if not as good as this one and they seriously lack torque. Thank goodness for the low diff gearing or they would have been no more potent that a Datto 120Y

Big ITB's, intake runners, head ports and engine valves will kill low rpm torque. A stock L series engine often has more torque to 2.5K rpm. Why?, for the above mentioned points. The only redeeming thing is that often, along with the rest of the mods, there is an increase in static compression which picks up torque a little, depending on the camshaft profile. Again, big profiles kill low rpm torque. Build an engine for TORQUE, and then you'll have a quick street engine!

Yeah Joker ive been trying to talk to him, about this and his other projects, But he won't respond so ill tell you with my experience and scca family racing history, it is the stock crank he bored it and put 3.1L pistons in it probably has a rough idle cam in their power range from 3500 to 8000 the itb's he prolly paid to much for so write me a comment personal and i will give you links to get the stroker kit adn itb's

i think it's an L28 with the LD28 crank. That bumps displacement up to 3.1

Using a LD28 crank alone will not make the 3.1 displacement. You also have to use larger pistons. Stock is 86mm, I think you need 88mm+.
