@cowboy17666 You wont have problems in Turkey as the tourism locations all have English speakers. For people who don't speak Turkish a tour group is the best way to explore Turkey. It is a very big country in terms of it's diversity and you will never see everything there is 2 see in one trip but those who visit Turkey are never satisfied with one trip. Like all overseas trips pack accordingly, be street smart and make sure you have travel insurance.

@cypriot1965 I think that you are mixing 2 different things here. Before the Ataturk´s reform the official language was Turkish, not Arabic. It was just the script which changed. I don't think that the current Turkish alphabet which is based on Latin alphabet is more "Turkish" than the old Ottoman Arabic one.

Some texts of nice turkish songs must be translated in order to be understand by others peoples. What a stupid discuss ?! Every body knows turks are not arabs.

However words travel between languages. If Halk Musik is seen in Tv in Lebanon or Algeria or Jordania...it's normal if there are some translations.

Like when an italian song is brodcasted in Tunisa or an egyptian song is broadcasted in an non arabic spoken country.

@fastfast121 no it is not true. the Turks spoke in Turkish. because Turks have for thousands of years their own language (Turk, Azeri Kazak, Kirgiz, Oezbek, Oejgur, Tatar) But when Ottoman Empire came and they transformed into Arabic alphabet because they were an Islamic empire. but Atatürk changed the alphabet again . He wanted to keep our Turkish tradition. is that wrong?

The just difference is Turks were using arabic alphabet as writting alphabet but turkish language, and after Atatürk, it's still Turkish like always it is, but writting alphabet changed to latin alphabet
