@raspberry996 Are you joking? It's like a direct cover. Even the solo guitar bits are the same. The only real differences are there's less vocal harmonizing in this and the delivery of Foster compared to Cuomo. Even if you prefer Foster's vocals I can't see how this is different enough to be "sooo much better". And considering they didn't make it their own, at all (they did justice to the original in being so faithful, nothing more), all credits gotta go to Weezer anyway.

Man, would I have loved to be there. Weezer is one of my all time, favorite bands, and Foster the People, has become one of my favorites as well.... Good music, with a ton of emotion, talent, and rockin lyrics.

Oh and no one cares if you don't like this cover. Gtfo this video and go listen to something else. Weezer did an excellent cover of their Pumped Up Kicks song and FTP did an excellent cover for Say It Ain't So. They're both fantastic bands. If you can't handle the awesome, go fuck a opossum.

@GREENFucka Well, Pumped Up Kicks has been out for about a year while Weezer was touring with the memories tour. Say It Ain't So has been a song for 17 years and, more than likely, someone in the band is a Weezer fan.

Big difference between the two songs in chronology alone.

@Coldcooler3 Don't get me wrong, FtP is a great band (their album is in my car right now), but they'll never be "the next Weezer". Reason #1, NOBODY will ever be the next Weezer. Rivers Cuomo re-invented music the way he wanted it to sound, just like Ray Charles or 'Queen' did. While FtP is a great band, until they completely change the music industry and go mainstream WITHOUT sacrificing their musicality, they'll never amount to Weezer. Reason #2, They'll never write as many songs. Simple.

Weezer's cover isn't bad. They took "Pumped-Up Kicks" and made it their style. Here, Foster the People take "Say it Ain't So" and did the same thing. It becomes theirs around 2:30. They basically come out and own this song like Weezer does live. Fantastic cover, and a hundred million billion times better than the Deftones.
