When I was there (2001-3 ish) I would watch the sea planes for hours and decided to get my pilots license. It's only taken me 6-8 years but am now finally doing it! Don't think I'll get a job in Alaska tho, saturated market. Did you also go to Juneau etc? Sitka? Glacier Bay?
Hi, it was a great trip, we did a Celebrity Infinity cruise and also visited Icy Straight Point, Hubbard and Juneau. I did another vid of the whales off Icy Straight if you want to look at it. Funnily we are off to NZ next year and Milford Sound reminds me if Misty F. Cant wait to go!.Well done on your licence. bw Pen
CONGRATS on your anniversary. Your flight here was just a few days before my birthday. BUT The day you filmed this i was flying too!, over my house in the UK. Your flight had better scenery, mine was over the Severn during the floods this summer. It's the video above.
Wow I cant believe you found this. Its amazing. I had the CD already and when I heard it on the flight I thought it was perfect. Thanks for such a great flight and when we put the still photos on you will see yourself. Will keep you posted.

Geiranger, Norway is one HELL of a gorgeous place, especially when you're sailing in right through the high fjords there.

Exactly, the west coast of the south island and that part of Alaska are very similar, must be all the rain, makes everything misty and lush!
When are you coming out?
I haven't got my licence yet but hopefully will by the time you guys arrive :) I think I'm up to my 5th lesson ... So much fun!

Video is really great! I watched it before my
cruise this year in late May, and booked the
flight with the same Taquan air.
And everything was like in this video. Almost.
The only issue was short time to enjoy this paradize after landing. Person, who took my
order promised 15-20 min there, but pilot said
that we have just 5 minutes and must fly back.
After return I asked dispatcher about it, and the answer was: Sorry, but we have tight schedule today :(

Yes, it was misty and seemed to me pretty mystique also. It's a 2-nd time in my life
when I got in that kind of place with a special beauty. The 1-st one was on Kauai
when I hiked few miles along Alakai Swamp
trail in a fog and drizzle. Though I see
some Alakai videos on Youtube they did not
really convey the mood of that place like
your video does for Misty fjords.
