The other weapons mentioned in past post here were added in just prior to the American release of FFVII. They are not important to the game story line but are just there for added difficulty to make the game more challenging to American players.
i remember the first time i got this game, i was flying around and i found ultima weapon. i wasn't really expecting much, cloud, cid, red xiii, all lvl. 60. yeah i got my ass handed to me. after i learned what it was, i got my guys ready, switched red with vincent and he was the only one that didn't die so he got all the exp. and went up about 8 lvls.
i managed to beat ultima weapon at level 60, get shadow flare in three(or more) enemy skill materia and none of my characters died...how come every video i watch someone always gets killed? you miss a lot of exp and ap...

I bred a gold chocobo trying to get to the forest of top of that mountain and get all of my materia. I beat him with one Knights of the round and was like YES!. Then he blew a hole in the ground and made a path to the forest. I was like..............
I remember finding Ultima about to kamehameha the Northern Crater, and I just sat there thinking, "Go ahead! Make my day and save me playing the third disk!" And he just sat there charging his attack for half an hour until I put him out of his misery. :(
God the graphics are terrible, even for the time it came out. Honestly, FF 7 is one of the worst Final Fantasies there is, in terms of stories. About the video, this is helpful I've been looking for this bastard for awhile, now I know where he's at.
In terms of gameplay, music, art design etc. Final Fantasy VII was amazing. I still think Final Fantasy XIII had some of the best aspects of the series, but overall Final Fantasy VII was the best game for me...EVER
I will agree that the story is terrible, but simply exploring the world and battling, combined with the epic scenery and well fitting music this game is easily the best game ever made for me.
I don't know how you can so easily hate on it. Just think about the towns, cities, people, atmosphere, the huge world, this ugly PS1 game felt more overwhelming than all of the games this generation!

we were fighting against ultima weapon and we know, at the end, ultima weapon is casting a spell which we can learn..
at the end she casts "shadow flare" at the black guy (dont know his name), but our black guy had an "reflec" ring on or something :D so the spell was casting back on ultimaweapon and it knocked itself out..
@mackattack7309 you have to unlock his other limit attacks before...if you have the 2nd limit of level 3 you can use the item to unlock it... i think that is the way for every character in the game (i might be wrong cause it's long ago but i think that's it)
You will find the Hades summon when you enter the room to the left of the save point. It will be near some wreckage and it should be on the ground.
To get Double Cut, you will need to enter through the Shinra door closest to the save point, go down the staircase, and go to the top right-most area. You won't easily see it, so just keep pressing circle until you find it.
I wondered where it was too. I looked it up a little while ago. I pass it on to you.
Also, the creatures there can do some SERIOUS damage. If you don't have decent defense, you are going to die there easily. Some of their attacks do about 2000+ damage, so be careful.
I didn't mean to go into the Golden Saucer, I meant to approach the closest land area in your submarine. You need to be on the surface and as soon as you see the land mass, descend into the water and find the Sunken Gelnika. You can't miss it.
I stated in my last comment: "What you want to do is get as close as you can to the Golden Saucer in the sea and descend." I might have not been clear. You need to approach the land before hitting shallow water and then descend.

Odd... Did you go through the entire place? When I entered the room to the left of the save area, I had to fight them. They were pretty easy. I was pretty over-leveled.
Perhaps... I did it during disk 2. So, you have already beaten off the Turks when you went into Midgar. That may mean that you are not fighting them again.
I don't know if there are any other areas or enemies that hold the ziederich. If that is an exclusive to the Turks, the answer is no. Then you would be missing out on the best defensive armor.
If you don't get it, don't feel too bad about it. I have a couple, but I don't use them. You may get the best defense... However, you do not have available materia slots... Sort of a downside to it.

You do NOT learn any enemy skills when you get killed by them. So in other words: you need to survive the enemy attack skill in order to succesfully learn it. Which was a failure in this boss battle...

@FSPB123 he randomly travels around the world. You have to initiate several battle with him until he goes to cosmo canyon. It's just a game of Hide and Seek
its diamond weapon that attacks junon. ruby weapon is under the desert next to the gold saucer. emerald weapon is underwater. and ultima as you see is the one you chase around the map. after you kill him you can go inside a new area he opens up so as to aquire a nifty weapon with triple slots for leveling materia. best way to lvl materia is with that, and heading to the crater and killing a few pots or movers.
@TIWIH777 ahhh yeah thats right. I always seem to get those 2 confused. its the big honking sister ray that always confuses me hehe. it is on junon when sapphire attacks, then on midgar when diamond attacks.
@KillswitchJohn you have to chase yuffie around a bit, she hides in a few places. you just have to find them all, and then once you do that, you go to the inn at the top and search the pot outside, if the pot lid is moving.
Uhhh...how exactly do I find him? I've been through the whole thing and have Cloud back in my party and everything. And I've been to the Lake Crater that he's supposedly at but he's not there. I haven't fought him at all since Mideel. But he doesn't show up where he's supposed to. Am I doing something wrong or is my game glitched or what?

It sucks, i didn't get Shadow Flare.. Ultimate Weapon decided to own my Vincent with it, luckily, I still raped it and got my Ultima Weapon. This boss was easier than the serpent you have to fight at the chocobo marshlands in disc 1 -L_-
@metastoner you have to pick up one of the honey pot kinda things and go close to it. it should throw the honeypot inside it allowing you to pass through.
Becouse this monster is the same that Ultima/Ultima Weapon from FFVI. Ultima is a constant in the FF series too, using it in weapons and magic, watch that this monster attacks behold the name "ultima" on it.
The correct question must be "Why do FFVII insist on callin Ultimate weapon if it is ULTIMA WEAPON?
Ah, and ultima its the same that ultimate. In the languages derived from latin, as spanish or italian, ultima means "last one" or "final"
You can also get shadow flare from the undead dragons (forget their actual names...) in the Northern Crater (right path @ the first fork)...but yeah, this is the easiest way to get it.
right after diamond weapon i went after it, and it ran away to the northern caves so i had that cutscene, and then it ran away to midgar so i couldn't get to kill him -____- goddamnit lol
Theres 3 weapons...The First is Ultima Weapon which is easy to beat. Then Theirs Emerald weapon which appears on disk 3 when u get the submarine...it floats around so dam much if it runs into you ur fucked basically unless your maxed. i hated how it always ran into me when i didnt want it to and when i wanted to find it was a bitch to find...Great Fights Though. very hard to beat Ruby Without Maxed everything.
@reclusegamer000 yes, and there is also an omega weapon, not shown in this game though. and ruby and emerald have the same amount of hp...but very different strategies.
My characters are almost the same level as yours but they just suck when compared to you

To answer both questions, they are in the same place... The Sunken Gelnika
It can be accessed using the submarine.
What you want to do is get as close as you can to the Golden Saucer in the sea and descend. You should see what looks like the remains of an airship.
You will fight Rude and Reno there, so make sure you are armed to the teeth. They are tough unless you are prepared.

can someone please help me. Alright i beat the diamond weapon then i went and beat this guy when hes like floating above the little rriver thing, but i didnt get any expeireance or anything when i beat him he just flew away, i went to the canyon where you found him in this video but hes not there. someone please help me out and tell me how to get to him

@FSPB123 he randomly travels around the world. You have to initiate several battle with him until he goes to cosmo canyon. It's just a game of Hide and Seek

its diamond weapon that attacks junon. ruby weapon is under the desert next to the gold saucer. emerald weapon is underwater. and ultima as you see is the one you chase around the map. after you kill him you can go inside a new area he opens up so as to aquire a nifty weapon with triple slots for leveling materia. best way to lvl materia is with that, and heading to the crater and killing a few pots or movers.

@TIWIH777 ahhh yeah thats right. I always seem to get those 2 confused. its the big honking sister ray that always confuses me hehe. it is on junon when sapphire attacks, then on midgar when diamond attacks.

@KillswitchJohn you have to chase yuffie around a bit, she hides in a few places. you just have to find them all, and then once you do that, you go to the inn at the top and search the pot outside, if the pot lid is moving.

Uhhh...how exactly do I find him? I've been through the whole thing and have Cloud back in my party and everything. And I've been to the Lake Crater that he's supposedly at but he's not there. I haven't fought him at all since Mideel. But he doesn't show up where he's supposed to. Am I doing something wrong or is my game glitched or what?

It sucks, i didn't get Shadow Flare.. Ultimate Weapon decided to own my Vincent with it, luckily, I still raped it and got my Ultima Weapon. This boss was easier than the serpent you have to fight at the chocobo marshlands in disc 1 -L_-

Becouse this monster is the same that Ultima/Ultima Weapon from FFVI. Ultima is a constant in the FF series too, using it in weapons and magic, watch that this monster attacks behold the name "ultima" on it.
The correct question must be "Why do FFVII insist on callin Ultimate weapon if it is ULTIMA WEAPON?
Ah, and ultima its the same that ultimate. In the languages derived from latin, as spanish or italian, ultima means "last one" or "final"

You can also get shadow flare from the undead dragons (forget their actual names...) in the Northern Crater (right path @ the first fork)...but yeah, this is the easiest way to get it.

right after diamond weapon i went after it, and it ran away to the northern caves so i had that cutscene, and then it ran away to midgar so i couldn't get to kill him -____- goddamnit lol

Theres 3 weapons...The First is Ultima Weapon which is easy to beat. Then Theirs Emerald weapon which appears on disk 3 when u get the submarine...it floats around so dam much if it runs into you ur fucked basically unless your maxed. i hated how it always ran into me when i didnt want it to and when i wanted to find it was a bitch to find...Great Fights Though. very hard to beat Ruby Without Maxed everything.
