Thank you for putting this on here ,It helped me understand better the signs of autism ,my son has Gdd with autistic behavior (not severe ) he does that thing with his eyes, flaps and shake his head really fast and laughs afterwards..
my little baby is just gettin seen becuse of my worrys about her and she does this spinning with her eyes like that ,,,is this a sign thank you xxx hope all is well
i told my friend that there daughter might have autism because when she gets exited she flaps her hands like a bird and runs around like that i have autism and i am an adult but they didn't say much about me when i his age because back then autism not much was known about it. and i to flapped my hands like bird when things would spin around and i would play the same toy that mad sounds for hours if someone didn't take it away and i tried to tell my friend to have there daughter tested
@amy85ify thank you :) Maybe when I have a camera operator, I can get a meltdown. I tell ya, sometimes I just have to go to the bathroom and breathe it's so intense. I have an Asperger teenager and he was so much different than Luca but he's to cute to be mad at lol
to you negative people out there,my son has Autism and gives eye contact when he has photos taken.Notice this wee boy doesnt say anything when the Mum talks to him,a classic sign of Autism.BTW thats why its called a spectrum because no 2 signs are alike.
@joleenlove No darling, I'm someone who's lived with two siblings with autism, one case so severe, with such debilitating symptoms including epilepsy, true SIB, total non verbal communication that my parents had no choice but to institutionalise him and the other with "classic" functioning autism who has some semblance of a normal life, now in sheltered accommodation. This child is not autistic has none of the signs or symptoms and it's depressing you seem to want him to be disabled.
This child is not autistic. It's a toddler who's learned how to operate a piece of machinery and is proud of himself, he makes eye contact, responds to adults and the camera and is emotionally engaged. He's neither spinning nor flapping. What is wrong with this stupid woman it's as if she wants her child to be disabled, Munchausen's by proxy.
Ignore people who don't understand, they don't know as it has not happened to them. they are just watching and then commenting whatever comes into their heads.
thank you for putting the videos up it helps other parents going through the same thing
@joleenlove I have seen parents really encourage behaviors that help get them that extra "help" that they need. I'm not saying your one of them, but why put this on youtube? needing some attention? As I said, I raised two healthy "non-diagnosed" children who often acted like your child int his video. You almost seem too eager for a diagnosis. You keep looking for the problems, you'll create them mommy.
@frogbutt11 Why put on Youtube? cause it is helpful I remember viewing this video when I had doubts about my son he was referred to a team that diagnosed him autistic I never once mentioned Autism the therapies have been changed to better fit him and he has excelled he sitll flaps and spins but now in a more social way and he is happy and he tries to be social He called me Mom for the 1st time yesterday well I think it was directed to me either way he said Mom =)
@musicdocumentary I m happy for you Mommy :) my little one is 16 months old and babbles nonsense ,doesnt repeat sounds at all .Your story gives me hope .Hugs for you and little one :)
I've raised two healthy, now college aged children; a boy and a girl. I didn't see anything unusual about his behavior. I used to spin as a young child, I liked the dizzy feeling, he's active and interested in the dishwasher. My son used to be obsessed with the vacuum cleaner. He outgrew that. Flapping arms? Didn't notice anything but an active child with GOOD eye contact several times, some smiles, approaching the video person for some contact. I watched several times. Over diagnosed.
@frogbutt11 You're 100% right. Two of my siblings have autism, one "classic" which this strange woman appears to want to have her son to have, and who's in sheltered accomadtion. the other with such an extreme form he is in fulltime care. It's depressing and bizarre that this woman is posting videos of a normal, engaged responsive child as being autistic. I'd like to think he was misdiagnosed but a part of me thinks she's merely a fantasist and Luca has never seen a doctor. Strange.
@stayAU I didn't have a choice but have the doctors label him. I'm a single mother of one with Aspergers and now Luca with Autism. I had to remove gluten from Luca's diet. Do u know how much that costs? hell...I got the diagnosis for some help because if he eats gluten, he has seizure like activity half the night with crying/screaming like he's in pain :(
@joleenlove watz gluten?? do u think it could help me not have brain seizures? im just now getting over a seizure in my brain that caused me to go to hospital and reduced my brain's mental activities... now im getting back on track again with lotz of extra help! so, um... watz gluten, an how does it help? If u could anser back plz; Thank You! =) btw; he seems normal to me hehe, such cute curly hair! depends on who u ask for watz normal :)
So we are all suppose to fit in some cookie cutter mold and if we are a little different and not socializing that's not normal but being in gangs is? Giving your kid these labels will psychologically damage them for life I hope you know that.
It looks like he hears the rhythm in the dishwasher. All kids develop at different speeds. My nephew started talking before my niece did. I don't spend time with this little guy 24 hours a day. But he acts like a normal toddler to me. I don't know whats wrong with all these "experts" and "normal behavior" sounds like a bunch of nazis to me. I bet those "experts" make a lot of money diagnosing people with autism.
Hi! I just wanted to say that I'm a fourteen year old that babysits a five year old autistic boy, and I really like your videos. I get really aggravated with him at times, but your videos on your son help me understand him just a little bit better! Also, your son is adorable!!(:
the world we live in today, i dont expect people to understand a special needs child. until you've had one of your own, you will never know what daily life is like with a kid like that. spinng and flapping can be for fun, yes. but it's when they cant stop it, is when it becomes problematic and cause for concern. maybe if ignorance wasnt standing in certain people's way , they could do some research :)
I don't see a kid w/ autism I see a carefree child who likes to spin because it feels fun. I used to flap my arms & spin when I was little, it was fun to do, I grew out of it as I got older, I didn exactly what this adorable child does but I never had anything wrong, I was being a kid, kids sometimes do weird things when they're little & sometimes as parents we may never figure out why they do it, but doesn't mean it's autism.
hmmm...you must have been the child that was an annoying, disrespectful little fucking shit without autism. If I was a doctor I would label you an asshole :)
Looks like a normal kid to me. Too bad you've labeled him autistic, so that he now has permission to be an annoying, disrespectful little fucking shit when he gets older. Awesome job, Mom! Keep up the good work. Don't try to parent, just say it's his "autism".
Anybody with Autism: Test yourself for LYME (blood under microscope also) and HPU (!), have your stool (not urin!) tested for mercury and other heavy metals after taking a high dose of chlorella (maybe 50 pills) or another chelator (MicroSilica by Biopure), but only under the supervision of a physician that is using the Dr. KLINGHARDT protocolls for it! You will be amazed! Microbes in you produce 100 x more microtoxines with todays electromagnetic exposure. Aspergers is a medical condition!
Your little one is adorable. My son does the same thing however I never associated it with autism until he started school. We go for testing tuesday. He throws horrible fits, sometimes violent. He does not require sleep and has problems with cronic constipation. His teacher caught the problem right off. My physician just thought he was ADD and suggested I disipline him. People stare thinking he is spoiled. Thanks for posting the video. I am searching for information and it was very helpful!
my wee sis is like that and i hav aspergers she wont settle at night and screems forr sometimes up to 4hrs....is this a sign?? She is also very hyper but has a short temper plez reply x
why are doctors giving the children more vaccines today then in the past?? My daughter (born in 1999) was given the chicken pox vaccine, but I never had the chicken pox vaccine when I was a baby. I did get chicken pox at age 7, was sick for a week no big deal. My point is, these docs shouldn't be giving todays babies all these vaccines for every little thing!!
If your child needs melatonin to sleep, he has a sleep disorder. Has he had a sleep study? Sleep is EXTREMELY important for learning and development. I don't know how to stress this.
My little boy is 3 and almost identical. He has global delay but we are still awaiting a diagnosis. he spins, flaps, dances and shakes/bangs his head. He has little language but is a super happy little boy.
He looks exactly like my son when he was that age - right down to the golden curls. My son was diagnosed with Asperger's and he still moves around constantly, falls off his chair while eating dinner (with his hands, forget about cutlery!). We're trying RDI and have some hope for it... your little boy is really cute, like mine! : )
Has he been seen by an OT? He seems to have a lot of sensory needs- hence all the spinning and stumbling, and the comforting noise of the dishwasher. With OT some of that can be helped too :) I'm studying to become an OT to work with sensory processing disorder and autism. He's really cute, good luck!
Luca was like that at 2 and now he is getting ready to turn 4 and he is more violent. I removed high fructose corn syrup and added a liquid melatonin and small dose of clonidine at night recently and he has improved a lot but he is also on the GFCF diet. It's mainly issues with change/transition
how is he doing now? my kid spits his milk throws his food and dont let him get a hold of a crayon... he scratches the walls rubs the walls as well. our raiden is a very violent 2 year old
My nephew was just diagnosed last year when he was two. I love him so much I always play with him and help him say new words and count. He's my fave family member.
My little boy does that, he spins and moves his eyes to the side and flaps his hand, smacks his belly and does this thing with his mouth. In england he is to young to be diagnosed which is so hard, because i want an answer for his development delays and his odd behaviours. x
my grandson is exactly the sam thanks for posting this his the same age im over the crying and hurt i now understand its my problem not his i must accept this his special his so beautifull and life goes on we will always protect and love him god bless
Luca was diagnosed a little after 2 for moderate to severe autism. He has the whole body dancing flapping thing all day long. The reason he has improved is because we removed gluten, dairy, and high fructose corn syrup from his diet and he is so much easier to handle and understand now (:
To everyone who is saying that this little guy "is looking at you" and "is responding;" you fail to notice that what the child is likely responding to IS THE CAMERA THE MOM IS HOLDING.
You are seeing 2 minutes of this child. If the mother and the PROFESSIONALS have determined that the child is autistic, it's likely because there is a true issue there. And "Idespisechristians;" my 20 years of experience and Master's degree trump your "I knew someone once...." knee jerk ( jerk) response.
Since this video was taken, my son has been diagnosed with moderate to severe autism. He also was accepted at the autism school in the city I live in. Just an update :)
i said aspbergers nor autism u dimwit ,he doesnt seem autistic since he can look and comminucate with you fine.i know people wit autisim and they dont act like that
my son is also autistic and does the flapping and spinning. To the "Idespisechristians", you are a complete moron. Made up diagnosis? Are you fricking kidding me, any person with half a brain know's its not a made up diagnosis and the kids doing this cannot help it! Go tell a doctor Autism is made up, you will be the one looking like the one who needs help.
To the 'Idespisechristians' comment - what the f*ck would you know!?! I have a 2 and a half year old who is going through a great deal of distress at the moment, and in turn so is our whole family. It's heartbreaking enough trying to figure out what is wrong without clueless f*ckwits like you coming along and trying to make parents feel even worse than they already do.Why did you even watch the video? Just so you could post a negative and hurtful comment?Wow you are just a brilliant human being.
it seems any parent will go to a doctor for some made up diagnosis, all that kid is doing is playing its not autism all kids turn in a circle.parents and kids now seem to have their own disorders as some sort of .attention getting.
@Idespisechristians yeah before you make moroinc comments try living with an autistic child and watching him struggle, it's heartbreak. You sir/madam are the defintion of douche rag
@Konnerdad that boy is having fun hes not autsitic dont label him that fast hes just having fun thats all i said. half the time parents make up stuff about disroders vbut i didnt say people make up autism but ur son seems fine to me
@Idespisechristians your a piece of shit. that's really the only thing that describes you. try watching the other videos of this boy before you make dumb ass comments. what you said here and the other comments make you look really stupid. i really dont think you have any idea how stupid it makes you look. i know you dont care or else you wouldnt have posted the comments but i do know one thing, you hide behind a computer like a little bitch cause you know your safe. you dont even know this boy.

His spinning looks just like my sons. He turns his eyes one way then spins the other just like that. He doesn't have any hand flapping though. Thanks for sharing.

Since this video was taken, my son has been diagnosed with moderate to severe autism. He also was accepted at the autism school in the city I live in. Just an update :)

my son is also autistic and does the flapping and spinning.

His spinning looks just like my sons. He turns his eyes one way then spins the other just like that. He doesn't have any hand flapping though. Thanks for sharing.
