  • I owned a '65 just like that. I didn't have the time or money to give "Inga" the proper dignity that she deserves for all the great times I enjoyed with her, I just wanted to see her restored by someone who would honor her and not "lower" her etc. I gave her away to a friend and sent her to Hawaii. I believe that God will someday let me see her ,fully restored, again. I wrote a screen play that she plays a main character in. I hope Inga is painted honey-tangerine with a brilliant white top.

  • Have to agree on the kind of creepy nose emblem--better if it were chrome. Also checked my VW color chip chart on the L-53 Sealing Wax Red color. I hope you

shot the photos with a filter, because Sealing Wax should be more scarlet red than the orange tint color in the photos. Otherwise, great resto!

  • OMG i just jizzed :D

  • Nice work, sham the owner fucked it by putting that rubbish VW on the front, looks like you guys worked hard lovely looking bus, just sham about the front.

  • When I first saw the enblem I thought of Peace. Thanks for sharing your project with us.

  • Regards man. Gr8 work.

  • this music is purty terrible.

  • love it~~! shiny coating~~!

  • this is my dream car oh i love buses

  • Fantastic restoration series...glad you documented this ambitious labor of love as you did. Hopefully it will inspire others to bring neglected veedubs out of disrepair & give 'em a second life.

  • Congratulation from Germany! Wonderful restored, my one is 46 Years old and the target of restoration will be when the van is 50 years

  • great job! I would recomend to change the vw emblem for a chromed one. It would look ever more classic! Just a thought.

  • The American flag emblem is what the owner wanted/provided. The bus is 100% stock otherwise.

  • nice bus, the front emblem would be a little emmbarassing though,

im not anti american, but the hippie assciation is irritating enough, its hard enough to be taken seroiusly in a vintage vw, that things begging for the annoying "shaggin wagen" and "hippy van" comments.. . IMO.

nice job in every other aspect, good to see og colors.

  • See my reply to Imfercho above... Thanks for the compliments!

  • cool bus, crappy music

  • Nice job man. Is that Coral Red, that lower paint color? I painted my '66 Westy Velvet Green/ white

  • Thanks! The bottom color is Sealing Wax Red. The top color is Beige Grey. My '66 21 Window is Velvet Green and Pearl white. Probably my favorite color combination.

  • Fantastic restore!

  • excellent job and the music rocked, a real inspiration keep up the good work. i hope i finish my own to a similar standard. thanks for the video's all four were great..

  • Esa es la manera correcta !!

  • linda linda linda....aqui no Brasil é praticamente impossivel achar esse modelo de teto.....parabens

  • Here goes my attempt at Portugese:

Obrigado! Eu fui ao Sao Paulo. Eu vi muito Volkswagens lá. Eu comecei excursionar a fábrica de Volkswagen em 1995 em que Volkswagen fazia ainda o Fusca e o Kombi.

  • you are way off.....just kidding no clue

  • Awesome and stunning. Can you give a figure on how many hours you spent on that car?

  • Thanks!

    Roughly 600 hours.

  • Great job! I have a 67 bug in New Zealand. Would love to have a bus (and your skills).

  • Thanks! Enjoy your Bug.

We hope to get over to New Zealand some day.

  • I could have done without the music, but you did a great job restoring it. Sweet bus dude.

  • Thanks!

  • I just wanted to say you are a asset to the hobby as you really did a nice job on the bus, keep them restorations comming so the younger generation can enjoy them also.Great job you truely are an artist.

  • Thanks for the encouragement man! I love this hobbie!

  • how much was the bus when u bought it and if i wanted to buy 1 that needed doing up how much would it be?

  • I restored the bus for a friend. I'm not sure what he paid for it. Figure $10,000 to $15,000

minimum for a full restoration, depending on the amount of hours required. Some restorations can be as much as $30,000.

  • beautiful bus love it was that the original color

  • Yep, that's the original color! Beige Grey over Sealing Wax Red.

    Thanks for the compliment!

  • That about what I'm looking for, but those are priced way over my head:)

  • Yeah, they usually start around $15k in rough shape. Keep your eyes open, though. You never know.

  • Did you make sth with the engine?

  • I'm sorry, what is your question?

  • Did you modified engine?

  • The bus has the original stock 40hp engine with 6 volt electricals. The customer wanted a full restoration back to the way it would've been from the factory (apart from the front VW emblem).

  • WOW!!!

  • A lot of work, but a lot of fun too.

  • Oh yeah, check out "The Fetchin' of the bus".
