It's not so much the 46M that don't have insurance, the biggest problem are the 125M who do and are "under insured" and can't pay their medical bills. Of the 46M who do not have coverage, the #1 reason why is the cost...my father is 62 and would cost him $500/month to have minimal coverage, he just can't afford it. And even if he did shell out the $500/month, it comes with a $4K deductible and 80/20 after that...one heart attack from going broke either way
The health insurance industry is nothing more then a legalized ponzi scheme. They like taking your money but when it's time for them to pay up they will look for any reason they can to drop your policy. It's called insurance underwriting. The cost of everything in regards to medical care is overpriced. It's also legalized price gouging. A Tylenol pill should not cost $10. The system we have today is not working and something has got to give.
what you should be demanding is total deregulation.
the only reason we need insurance to pay for care is because of government regulation and mandates that drive up the cost into the stratosphere.
back in the 50s you could have gotten care for free at a charity hospital. Today the costs are so outrageous charities can not run hospitals without massive aid.
Hell yeah man! The only option their telling us is either managed corporate/subsidized/regulated healthcare or socialized universal healthcare. No one even mentions deregulating the industry. People have given up on having faith in charity. Forcing charity through govt taxes undermines the meaning of charity and destroys the individual. Socialists are evil and they don't even realize it. The road to hell is paved with good intentions.
America has the best Healthcare system on Earth - of course it's not perfect, because humans aren't perfect and corporations are greedy.
The fact that other countries are having SO much trouble trying to incorporate a private Health Insurance system is a huge red flag warning us not to let the Gov take over Healthcare. Yes, a lot of countries are looking to incorporate Private Healthcare options.
The 46 million uninsured figure is a BIG FAT LIE... which makes you a BIG FAT LIAR.
The U.S. health system spends a higher portion of its gross domestic product than any other country but ranks 37 out of 191 countries according to its performance, the report finds. The United Kingdom, which spends just six percent of GDP on health services, ranks 18 th . Several small countries San Marino, Andorra, Malta and Singapore are rated close behind second- placed Italy.
The Elites are destroying the rest of us lock, stock, and barrel. They have reached a point where they are openly saying that only those of a certain class will be receiving health care. Jobs everywhere don't provide health care, but the myth that we should expect to get our health care from an employer is mentioned without reference to this over and over again. The truth that millions have to live without employer provided health care is absent from their thoughts, cares, or conversations.
