Wanted to know how good the engine builders head has held up. I know its only been a few months. Im getting ready to do the same on my truck i just picked up.. Thinking the valve seals are bad it smokes after sitting. Figured since the head has to come of to do the seals might as well get a new head and cam. Picked up my 95 ext. cab for $1700 with 160k so i dont mind putting a few bucks in it.. looks good man nice job.
@ShawnFreels Its held up great! If I were you id check the rings while your in there. Valve seals rarely go. But its great the cam gives it more torque at around 2500 rpm. I dont find myself giving it as much pedal as before. Check out the new video I posted not too long ago, its a new years update. Then check out my sound system I put into it if you want. Make a video of your truck running. It could just be running rich unless youre sure its oil.

like the truck.i wouldnt have fixed the bumpers.. they r cheap just get new ones.. i under coated my toy the same way everything under neth..not the body mine was garage kept.its solid... thanks for info on cam i have a v-6 . i may get a bigger cam for mine..
@hockeyfreak043 Bumpers are like 300 bucks. Thats pretty expensive and I wanted to weld so I can get better. What did you coat your frame with? I did the body on mine to prevent rot, it was mint. Just wanted to preserve it. The cam for a v6 will have different effects. Got any videos of your truck?

sick work done! hows the herculiner holding up now thats its been on for a while? and when you put the new cam in, did you directly swap just the cam out or rebuilt the whole head?
@LinguraDeLemn93 Its holding up great! Its really tough stuff. It just fades from the sun and becomes a matte finish rather than glossy. mBut you can get the UV protectant and it will stay glossy. I put a new head in it and the cam. My rockers were good so I just replaced the tapptes and nuts. Also replaced the maniflod studs.
@Thor7745 Get a cam for it if you want. Or bigger tires. I dont have an exhaust on mine. Just stock. I cammed mine and I dont want to get an exhaust and change the power.
i got the same truck but black has a few small dents and little rust i bought it for $600 all it needed was a radiator and a radio including speakers in total spent on it so far including price of truck is 800
@mfarmakas17 I get a steady 24 mpg. And around 26 highway. This is with the Engine Builder 268 Torkr Cam tho. I never had the truck with stock tires so I wuldnt know. I just know that my engine with the torkr cam improved my power and fuel economy.
Dude your truck is almost exactly like mine! I've got a red 93 single cab 22re 5 speed with bedliner around the bottom. came with a flowmaster exhaust, got some headers for free and just ordered cragar wheels just like yours, EB's street rv head, 268 cam, and Ive got 31x10.5's too. I'll have to post a video when I'm done with the rebuild.

@BigManlyMan4 is the 4x4 part time or full-time? like if you were on dry pavement/street could you use 4x4? or is it part time like most jeeps where it bids and sharp turns and stuff? hopefully that made sense.
@lol123321123321 Its part time. I cannot use it on dry pavement without it having trouble. I have to get out and lock the hubs. But its great. I can drive like 500 feet down the road to get to another trail and it wont have an issue.

@dixiemudtoy Yea I wanted to preserve it! I wish I lived in a place without road salt. But oh well. My truck wont rot!. I want to do a couple of things to it tho, id like to do a cold air intake (wont improve performance but they look good). and an exhaust system. I like the way yours sounds and am going to do the same thing roughly.
@BigManlyMan4 the cold air intake actually did help a little bit. not much, but a little. if you really want to see an improvement, do a MAF conversion from LCengineering....or if you want to save a few bucks, put together the parts from split second, it's who they source the parts from...then you will really see a difference :)

@choochinkaddywompus I hear ya! The salt is what kills them and when one isnt rotted people want a fortune. This truck came from texas tho, and was only in maine for 2 winters I believe. I wanted to preserve it and make it my own :). Itll last forever :). Thanks for the comment. I have tons of video of the build but I need to edit it together. I will do that soon. Jesus, that truck is beautiful! Good thing I didn't buy this little $1500 Sunfire yesterday. Love the seat covers! Flowmasters would sound good, I've been begging my dad to get some on his 6.0l Silverado. Sorry if I said that before, my memory is terrible. That thing sounds awesome too! Thanks for posting this!

@BigManlyMan4 Yeah, I decided I still want a Toyota because every Chevy has major electrical issues, my friend went to Vermont, ignition pin, starter, and fuel pump went at once in their Suburban. My dad's Silverado is in the shop every other week, gauges that were replaced in February need to be replaced already, AC unit in Silverado and TrailBlazer have been replaced already. My granny's '03 Corolla hasn't had anything replaced except brakes or anything.
