My self being only 12, I hate music in the 2000's but the 80's and 70's and even 60's are my favourite and I've been brought up with these kinds of music and for anybody who can't appreciate that music and say its old... I sympathise. It may be a few decades ago but it's a lot better than all the crap that's on these days.
I, myself, am pretty young; (born in 1998), and I grew up with music mostly from the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's. Today's music is quite horrible...and I am thankful that my Grandparents and Parents love this type of music and play it very often. ^^ BEST. MUSIC. EVER. ~
Listen to this brings back memories of playing atari while my mom played this in the background. It alsomakes me realize how great these songs were because most of them have been covered or sampled by artist today.
I was born in the end of the 80s (1988). Thank goodness my mother had a huge collection of 80s music! I grew up worshipping Blondie, A-Ha, Berlin, Bon Jovi, Cyndi Lauper, and Boy George. I always say that I was born too early. This is my definition of good music.
It's not problem in time that you wanna live a life two, three or more decades in time before you were born. It's problem in you, it always will be...Everyone that has not been born yet will have that same problem...But don't worry, just turn on the 80's music, close your eyes, make yourself comfortable and go to the past ;)
If you guys still want new 80's sounding music check out some of the Dance music from the UK at the moment and from the past 10 years or so. The 80's still exists, trust me!
when I was a child, my dad played nothing but The Beatles, Led Zepplin, The Rolling Stones, Billy Idol, Journey, Bon Jovi, and every single song created in the 50's, 60's, and 80's in the car. Thanks Daddy. I will always know what good music is thanks to you.<3
I listen to a lot of music from various decades. My opinion about 80's music. It was a hit or miss decade. When a song was good, it was great! Like hearing the best song EVER made! When it was bad, it sucked hard! Early 80's New Wave was too short lived. First half of the 80's better than the second half. Also, 80's Glam "Metal" & late 80's Pop=Lame. Wouldn't say the 1991-1996 Rock era was better than the 80's but it was definitely better than 80's "Hair Metal" and late 80's Dance Pop!
OMG love it!!! I sang with every song with a smile 80's music is still so far the best generation!!! Oh if only there woz such a thing as a time machine if i could turn back time as cher sang!! :-)
I'm sitting in New Zealand, listening to these songs and remembering the good times, my 9year old son is singing along and it just shows that the boy knows good music and I've kept a legacy alive! Love it!!!!!!!
Ok, the 80's rocked.. best of the best original music.. Just admit it.. Fook GTA vice city.. Here is to us that lived during this generation of music! Great compilation! Thanks!
These songs are about true love, forgiveness, keeping promises, beauty. What is today's music about? Sex, drugs, cheating, and controversy. Not a very good sign huh?
I was born in 1987 and I remeber how I used to listen most of these songs in radio in 90's. I still have these great memories and I wouldn't change it for anything. It reminds me my childhood. Maybe I should have been born earlier to enjoy the atmosphere of this great decade.
I like how a lot of these songs were meant to be stadium songs. I mean the powerful vocals and the loud music, it was just meant to be sung in front of an audience. Love the 80s. :)
I was born in '89 and I thought I wouldn't know any of this songs. I like a few bands from the 80s like Bon Jovi, Poision, etc but I actually knew a lot of these songs. I feel old .lol
i steel think its crazy in 91 all the major record labels drop all the big bands of the 80s they did not die out they got force out this a true story they all meet one night pull the deals in one night
I was born in 1981 and my dad always had music playing in our house. It was truly a magical time in many ways; no cell phones, no internet, etc. Music was great from the 80's through the 90's, and now is barely even good enough to call music. Even the alternative grunge we had in the mid/late 90's is better than the crap that plays on the radio now.
@talk14 Not your fault kid. Today it's all marketing and no heart. People in our day used to believe in the product. Not anymore. That's why it's not just music, but all commercial art that is bad.
I was born in 1990. And I hate 80s and early 90s clothing and hair style which sometimes seems ugly.
If you did not already start writing hate letters or death treats for me I have to say, despite that 80's produced many really nice songs which I like (even in these videos there are some that I dislike, thought many of them I like). I listen them not because they are in 80's, but that they are awesome. Interesting compilation.
@awesomedudeyrox Not necessarily, friend. Despite nostalgia, far from all 1980s music -- with or without videos -- was great or even good. Watching, or trying to watch,
dozens of minutes of Eighties music videos on a VH1 cable-TV channel will probably be
Perhaps I can add that the videos I'm mentioning also poke fun at cultural stereotypes and caricatures: the half-naked, half-savage, voodoo-wielding African, the seemingly impassive (yet quietly vehement), karate-kicking Chinese, the Stetson-to pointed-bedsheet-because-his-daughter-let-a-black-guy-touch-her U.S. southerner, etc. Google searches seem unsuccessful. By the way, hope you're not cross with my wordy style and repeat postings on
By the way, I watched the videos that I'm asking about in southern Nigeria -- again, around
1984. My siblings and I watched the videos over at our neighbour's. I remember we first watched the English-language version, then, some hours or days later, we watched the French-language version. The French version seemed (stereotypically) quirkier: more amusing in some parts and more stylishly edgy in other parts. No, I don't think the videos are Nigerian (not the prevailing video style, etc.).
Does anyone know of a quirky, circa-'84 song with the lyrics:
What has he/ More than me?
The artiste (a black guy) performing the song sings the above refrain in the video and different attractive women coyly reply: "Baby, baby, guess what." The music video is all I remember about the song. I don't remember any radio play of that song or any other songs by that musician. There is a similar, probably more delightful French video version.
Is it just me or the song at 1:29(Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes - (I've had) The Time Of My Life) sounds TOO familiar to Black Eyed Peas song The time
364 people hate good music & they rather listen to Justin Bieber.
