Love this. Probably the most under-rated band of the nineties. Great sound. Wish I had seen them live. Mikki had the edge over Louise from Sleeper, for me, but it was a good discussion point amongst all my friends. Shallow, I know.........
"The future's yours to hold and you're really not very old" What a line. Another blinding song by Lush, "Split" is my favourite album by a long shot, it sounds to me like the truest voice of the band - "Spooky" was them finding their feet, "Lovelife" had a few too many commercial tracks for my tastes...
Great bands know that they don't have to "rock" all the time. Lush covers the gamut of emotion. They can aggressive, prickly, airy, somber, cold, and warm. Their sound it textured yet hazy, ambient yet melodic. This one (one of my favorites) is light and bouncy. Yep, there's nothing wrong with a happy tune.
I met Miki during this tour at the Glam Slam in L.A. She was in the crowd before the show so I had her sign my ticket and told her Lush replaced The Cure as my favorite band. She was so down to earth and approachable. I LOVE YOU MIKI!!!
To think of how it ended still brings a little tear to the eye. I remember standing in the S.U. reading about Chris's suicide, disbelieving. I just stood there. The music lives forever with my memories of this fine band.
Awwww . . . . even all these years later, I'm *not* surprised at how much I still love and miss this band. This song can lift you up no matter how bad a week you're having
Ohh... The EVIL things I'd do for Emma or Miki. Emma is one of the best song writers ever. It's too bad Lush and Sing-Sing are gone now, thanks for a great video! RonHo
This is one of my favorite songs by them. I've been playing guitar for about 16 years and find it still hard to learn certain songs properly. Do you have the chords?
Thanks for the chords. This is one of my favorite songs off of my favorite Lush albums. It really is such a positive song and it could get you through a rough day. "Morning in the mirror, the future's yours to hold, one day things won't seem the same way I know". Chris was an awesome and underrated drummer.

Among the things I love in this video is that you can actually hear Miki's guitar (a custom made Epi Riviera XII).

This is one of my favorite songs by them. I've been playing guitar for about 16 years and find it still hard to learn certain songs properly. Do you have the chords?
fatcatbuzz 3 years ago
No I haven't actually... I do everything by ear.
julosx 3 years ago
A D (or Dsus2) A D (repeats throughout much of the verses)
Switches to Bm and E.
cool part that makes me think "Yes, Lush was wicked!": C, G, Dsus2, F, E, A
During the mirror part: C, Dsus2... G, D, A.
Pretty much that's it. I'm just guessing though.
