  • "We are a way for the universe to know itself" - That blew my mind. I feel a connection with the universe I've never felt before. Thank you so much.

  • Hmm, half an hour of Sagan or study for my finals exams to finish high school. I'm already here so I'm gonna go with it.

  • 26:30 We later discovered that Titan's surface pressure is actually twice that of Earth. No need for pressure suits, but you will need to bundle up and haul an oxygen tank. ;)

  • Hey Callum, I am loving the new videos (and appricieate the effort it takes to make such amazing interactive videos), but could you also keep making the other "normal" videos like you did before? Sometimes I like to just rewatch one video with a message I like.

  • Here is my question.. How do they know what our galaxy looks like if nobody has been out that far? Also how can they even get a picture of it if nothing man made has been out that far?

  • @Mrufohead nothing has gone that far, true, but light from there does comes here. we have seen how other galaxies look like, and there is the theory of relativity that predicts what should be out there

  • @Mrufohead Actually I don't think that was an accurate model (since the Milky Way is a barred-spiral galaxy) but they can take detailed measurements of the stars within in the galaxy to see how far away they are and create a computer model that is very accurate (but yes a real picture would be impossible from inside the galaxy).

  • @Mrufohead Wiki "milkyway" for an accurate picture of the galaxy under the subsection "Composition and structure" :)

  • @Mrufohead We can simulate it using what we know of our galaxy and from studying other galaxies of similar properties and structure.

  • Cosmic poet.

  • I love all your previous works, but this seems to be just a half an episode of cosmos...

  • @TheKturner05 I think his intent is to re-create Cosmos using new-age photos and graphics to make it more visually exciting and to bring the classic series into more modern times, to make it more timeless.

  • IMAGINATION

  • Anyone else just love the soundtrack in the beginning?

  • great visual effects are really good for its day

  • great job

  • these videos are just wonderful! keep up the good work callum.

  • Brilliant, Callum. Thank you a billion billion times for these videos.

  • I would ask you desperately to give a speech at our forum here in Taiwan. TDL: Taiwan Discussion and Learning.

  • @ethankegley Carl Sagan died in 1996 I think :(

An equivalent (as far as popularity and reaching out to the public goes) would be Neil deGrasse Tyson, or maybe even someone like Brian Cox. Both are enthusiastic and knowledgeable.

  • @JeefCakes Neil deGrasse Tyson opened my mind just as much as the great Carl Sagan did. Amazing human beings.

  • @JeefCakes Ha, I know, I was talking to Callum. I watched the whole cosmos series, am just about to finish the book cosmos and have followed every video Callum has made. Callum has gone through a great deal of work to bring Sagan's message back to the forefront of expression and understanding

  • Amazing :')

  • All of my likes!

  • EPICNESS, like always....
