I just bought one for $275.00. Only problem is the safety lever is very difficult to engage. It is easier to dis-engage but still too difficult for use in a hurry. Option for now is to "not" to use manual safety. Trying to see if S&W will fix it.
There is more than one reason the S&W 380 surpasses the LCP Rugar. Other than it looks better. The Slide locks open on last round, and it can be fired from chambered round without racking the slide to activate the trigger. Obviously the LCp will be activated on chambering, but pull the trigger empty it doesn't do anything. The 380 mag lip is better also. The Laser is a plus, god to many plus things to mention. S&W has life time service also. Looks great too.
@surfside006 yeah the slide locks open on the taurus tcp also but it was bad sights like the lcp but the sig p238 and the kahr p380 have better sights as does the diamondback not sure if that one locks open
@jsh1284 save up the $ difference. laser or not the BG380 is a better gun than the LCP. I posted why already. search this video's comments for my username to read them.
also I have all 3 models of the Barretta 21A's and i target practice with them at 30 to 40 feet and do head shots all the time at that distance,,of course the 22 LR doesnt have the recoil a 380 has and would be more accurate I guess,,,what you think ?
I wonder how this gun would compare to my colt mustang 380 series 90,,,buddy that little colt will shoot the eyes out of a bird in flight and never jams,,,,what you think ?
@tespid419 I carry a Glock 23 with iwb or In the waistband holster. I forget its there except sitting in the car then it kinda pushes against your back and is uncomfortable. So while driving i stuff in between my driver seat and center console also more accessible that way.
@tespid419 i have fired several rounds though the LCP and I didn't like it at all. It's the most violent feeling gun when shot. The BG380 is everything that the LCP isn't: laser, lock on last shot, safety (if needed), wider and better feeling grip, much better sights. The LCP is a little smaller and will fit in the right rear thigh carpenter jeans pocket and much smoother angles. BG380 stays planted in hand better when fired. to each their own. hands down on the BG380. S&W did a better job.
Wolverines!!! Good review & comments. Just ordered one w/o firing it so I appreciate the long trigger pull and reset info. I may re-think the order. Thanks.
bought one last week. shot it over the weekend. hate the trigger pull. very hard to shoot consistently. it is best shot with a slow trigger pull, long and hard. Not great for a conceal carry, you want to pull and shoot on target fast.
@surfer922 I just got one for my wife. It is a nice lil gun with big gun features! The laser came petty much dialed in and i put 150 rounds through it with no issues. The only thing i don't like about it is the trigger. It is a very long heavy pull. I don't know exactly how much it is but i would say it's probably double of what my Sig is when it's in double action. But my wife likes it and after a couple box's of ammo the trigger was no problem at all. I have medium sized hands and had no prob
I have the BG380 and shot it yesterday. It fed some 10 year old Federal ball, Aguilla ball, Federal hydrashock, and Magtech jhp with no problems at all. I zeroed the laser within 15 minutes and was shooting nearly in the same hole. The gun is a 380 pocket pistol so yes you'll get a little recoil but nothing compared to the cheaper 380s.
The only problem is my wife has now seen and wants one for her purse. Guess I'll be out another $425!
@budmonster420 It's much more manageable than the LCP and since the BG380 has a fuller grip with contours for the fingers, it feels much better in my hand and is easier to keep a hold of when fired. The LCP was too violent feeling in my hand when I was shooting it.
@561sage I've never had any shooting problems with my BG380 after at least 600 rounds of winchester. The only problem i've had with mine is the laser window getting a little cloudy on the outside from the soot from firing, but easily wiped clean with my shirt.
@561sage if you do, make sure you tether the allen wrench with a long bright colored zip tie so that you have a better chance of not losing it, making it easier to see without even looking for it. even sears doesn't carry allen wrenches that small. you'll need it for laser adjustment and to remove laser assembly to change out the batteries.
@haarlemmerolie a lot of ladies think the same thing until they shoot them and find out that small guns are hard on the wrists, hard on the ears, and hard to make effective hits without practice. Sorry to hear about your governments policy to not let its citizens protect themselves.
@haarlemmerolie only if your lady likes a lot of recoil in her carry gun. In my opinion if you are looking for a gun for a "lady" then you are looking for a low recoil gun that is easy to shoot and oporate, such as a full sized .38 special revolver. If a lady can handle this gun then I would have no doubt that she could handle any gun. Sounds like my kind of woman ;)
Me too, we didn't really plan that but it worked out to be a very cool effect .. problem is it requires two people to hold cameras (something we don't always have)

These guys are just testing the trigger re-set, not the double action trigger, so they need to use the slide instead
