  • I have a request:

Rhapsody of Fire's Keyboard solo in "Holy Thunderforce"

  • @Yuvalboo fuckk yeaaa good song :)

  • itis easyer keytar or keyboard ? They are the same things?

  • plz tell me which model is it how much did it costed and plz where i can get it

  • Okay yeah.Wow i want a keytar now =.=

  • hummmmmmmm

  • Whether you bought the sheet music or copied it by ear, your playing along with the CD is fantastic..!!

  • hello there, if u get tired of your keyboard: please sell it to me!!! hahahaha... no way to had one here in venezuela... no dollars for us :(

  • this keytar must of cost you alot? right now its 1,200 dollars

  • hey @Mithedhel , which is the brand of your Keytar, reference please!! Thankyou ;)

  • @otpenagos Roland AX-7 ;)

  • Do you have to be left handed to play keytar? o.o

  • @xYiazmatx You mean right-handed...?

  • @edthefreak no, as if you're right handed you use your dominant (right) hand for simple strumming and your lesser hand for the more complex fretboard. However it seems swapped for keytar, where the simple controls are up top and your dominant hand is doing much more than picking. I guess a guitarist playing keytar would be like trying to play his guitar lefthanded?

  • @xYiazmatx Then, clearly you don't play keyboard. Since I'm right handed... and have played both guitar, keyboard, and a make-shift keytar, I still think you're missing the point. Keyboardists' strongest hand is their dominant hand. And most melody in keys is in the right hand. It only makes sense to play keytar with your dominant hand then. You even hold it the same way you'd hold a guitar right-handed.

  • @xYiazmatx It's just a difference of what's comfortable on a different instrument... and strumming isn't exactly all simple... gotta be good at rhythms to do it right. Especially more than just continuous chord strumming.

  • dude, your bad ass!

  • how much did the keytar cost? I've always wanted one and last time I found one it was 2,000 dollars

  • Can't hear the difference between tape and you...It's so well played. Or It's a good fake but I don't think it is. ;)

  • Haha this looks ridiculous, joking :P, but its still badass! Awesome cover. JR would be proud :)

  • @MrMeddled if you had any idea how musical the band who made this song are you would shit bricks good sir.

  • th scarf is boss and so is the solo

  • @MrMeddled

Im not a fan of the keytar, but i don't see how it's not an instrument.

  • that was sick

  • buen trabajo, me gusta mucho la serie roland ax el tuyo estaf regon, sale saludos!

  • why do you own a keytar?

  • Does the AX 7 cost more than the AX 1? By how much?

  • poser

  • Really awesome :)

  • wtf you're doing??!?

  • eargasm

  • Remake the video. 1st CLOSE your closet door. 2nd Keyboard should face the camera. 3rd Plug the audio output directly in to your camera so we don't hear clicking of fingers as loud as the solo. 4th Have your instrument be the obvious loudest thing we hear. Other than that, great video

  • amazing!!!

  • ahmmm mete mas velicidad para que no se vean notas sueltas :-)

  • look like a toy , not solid as older keytar.

  • im suspicious, why did that terrible angle.

but looks like your having fun bro

    thats a cool song

  • Truly the instrument of the gods!

  • that was sick dude!! :)

  • En que nota esta?

    O has un tutorial wee

    porfaaa

  • Comment removed

  • grande!

  • esta que te cagas, de puta madre, me gustaria saber las notas que lleva eso, felicidades compañero

  • the black keys don't bite

  • Hey, I know. The song is not transposed, but directly played by ear from the Jordan Rudess improvised solo on chaos in motion tour, so don't tell me about that! ;)

  • @Mithedhel owned him dude (Y)

  • @kukis50 hahaha! That was probably the funniest comment, but as well the most accurate one. :P

  • @hamelkarl how is it accurate when the solo is actually mostly on the white keys! how can you tell this guy he cant play black keys when he is better then at least most of us

  • En mi vida habia visto esa clase de instrumento, pero en mi vida he visto a alguien tocarlo tambien =D te felicito coleguilla 5/5 estrellas ^^

  • sei italiano?

  • @0608921992 hehe no, I'm spanish :)

  • @Mithedhel italian is not spanish :P im from mexico (spanish) great solo, btw, i dont think that was an improvised solo of JR, he is playing the 2nd on petruccis arpegios since 4°th compass, but I do think the first 4, that it is improvized... unless he plays the same in each concert, and if it does, maybe the first time it was improvised...

  • @ScorgeRudess Yeah the improvised part is the first half ;)

  • sounds like he's not playing... don't mean that he's good... sounds fake

  • Sounds that I'll have to upload another version. However, I don't really care about what people thinks.

  • how much did it cost?????

  • I bought it for 600€, about 900$ while it was not sold anymore, because it was cheaper before ;)

  • @jackassqwe1 roland brought it back they're like 1200 USD so they're really expensive

  • Thank you

  • Nice dude loving the scarf also!

  • great men

  • OH............

  • listning to this is like having sex man!!

  • What's wrong with a friggin keytar?

  • Nice fender strap lol play guitar as well?

  • haha, thank you, no, just a little bit :)

  • I'd like to request Follow the Reaper by Children of Bodom keyboard solo.

    Pleaseee!!!! :)

    I subscribed and everything! <3

  • Okay, ;)

  • Are you serious!?!?

    Omg i LOVE you

  • omfg, a visualy stylish keyboard player, the world is gonna end!!!

  • haha :P

  • The Roland AX-1 is red,the AX-7 is white and the new AX is white also.

  • so wait, you're using the AX-7 right now, I'm confused, i thought the AX-7 was red and the AX Synth was white...

  • the red one is the yamaha shs 10

  • Ok you like Tolkien and play DT in a keytar: you're cool xD.

  • The Roland AX 7 isn't sold anymore, but there's a new model called Roland AX Synth, you can ask for it in the shops, it has a lot of advantages!

  • Good job man ! 5 stars !!

  • Thank you :)

  • are you classically trained on the piano?

  • Wish I was, but never took piano lessons. I'm striving to learn now :)

  • Well that makes me feel a lot better. Most everyone I see who kicks ass on keyboard and keytar took lessons. Keep it up dude!

  • Ok, I don't hate you at all.

In fact, you know I admire you.

  • Seriously.. You're fucking awesome and all other keytarists on YouTube are nubs! :D Very nice work. Keep on rocking!

  • Best keytarist on YouTube. o_O

  • haha, I don't think so but thank you for your encouragement :)

  • Excelent job dude!

    awesome :)

  • Thank you :)

  • i hope to god your in a band...

  • I hate you! :-)

  • holy shit.

  • you are awesome O_O

*going to check out the stratovarius cover now*

  • Thank you! :)

  • yeah crank that keyboard.. it kills the magic when i can hear your keys clicking while you play.

  • I'm a keyboardist, not an audio / video professional editor, sorry

  • i guess, i just wanted to hear more of your awesome skills as opposed to the tapping noises on the keys

don't sweat it dude, you're the man. :D

  • A little too much slurring still, but you've almost got it!

  • What price did you bought it for?

  • NICE!!!!!!!

  • hey man play it

  • You rock!!!

  • nice dude!!

  • please turn that thing on..

(at least i did mean turn your volume higher..)

  • Fuck yeah, keytar is awesome. Do you need some training in piano and stuff before you pick it up?

  • A Keytar plays the same as a Piano so all the Keytar songs you hear are usually piano songs.

  • Yeah. You just need to how to play a piano/keyboard/organ/accordion or wtv that has keys.

  • I play keyboard mysel but want to play keytar as soon as I have the money for it :P haha

  • @lemmykill not really but i think keytar is a little harder tho especially because im left handed

  • I was kind of wondering the same thing. I played guitar for about a year, but realized that it just wasn't the right thing for me. Now I'm really interested in getting one of these babies.

  • @FoxGuy777 i got one for sale

  • Thanks for the offer, but I have no money.

  • Sonata Arctica uses that keytar

  • It's the Roland AX-7, which is the only real keytar model that was widely produced for a while, so almost every Keytar you see is usually that one.

  • Actually the model that Sonata Articas Henkka uses right now is re-painted Roland AX-1 because it doesn't have screen on it...

  • the screen is facing right up to the camera the whole entire time. ppl like you that think they know what they are talking about really annoy me. its a roland ax-7

  • well...that's probably also because it's the most recent model. also because it's a midi controller, so you can keep up with modern synth sounds. the AX-1 (very similar model) is also pretty popular (as far as keytars go anyway lol)

  • Huh? it's tied around the neck, as usual :)

  • Hey that was beautiful man...

Did you play it by ear, or did you get the notes from somewhere?

If you know where to find them can you please give them to me?

    Thanks

  • Thanks for your comment :) Yes, its played by ear from the performance of "Surrounded" of the "Constant motion" DVD.

However, the unison part is easy. It combines G-C-D and F in a major key, and all of them with the same movement. I recommend you to try playing it ;)

Anyways, there's a lot of solos of DT whose notes are written, and much better than this! Thanks again and good luck! Talk to me if you need anything ;)

  • Puro teclado! anda cagale la cara a otro XD!

  • Whoops Srry I actually meant it's sound engine cam from the keyboard Roland Phantom

  • The new model is pure "Awesomeness" It's sound engine comes from the expensive and famous "V-Synth"

  • I'm having plans of switching my instrument. I know how to play clarinet, guitar, and am a beginner level at keyboard. (Though I guess the first two don't matter.) Anyway, the keytar is on my top 5 option list. Can you offer any advice or good facts on the instrument?

  • I can briefly give you some advices. The keytar is a keyboard without sounds. So you have to connect it to a synthetizer of another keyboard or from a synth in a computer or as a sound module. All of this is quite confusing, expensive and it hasn't so much advantages. I highly recommend you to choose one or two instruments that you mentioned and become better on those.

BTW: there aren't keytars for sale at now. You can wait to the coming release of the new model that has it own sounds!

  • Thanks for replying, and so quick at that. XD

I think the Keytar would be nice for me, because my right hand seems to have a knack for intrsuments. Especially guitar & keyboard.

Ooooh. The new model does sound nice. Do you know it's model name and how much it'll cost?

  • The new model has the advantage that it will have its own synth (sounds) and you only will need to connect to power and amplificator. But I still say to you that a keyboard has a lot of more possibilities than a keytar to make music. Keytar isn't a full complete instrument like keyboard, guitar or clarinet.

Anyways: The new model will be called Roland AX-Synth and it'll cost around 1250$ I believe.

Good luck with anything ;) talk to me if you need some more help

  • Yeah. I kinda figured that out myself about the Keytar when my friends always said "why would you want a keytar when you can continue with the keyboard?" (Ignore them. XP)

    Aye aye....that's a lot.

Thanks! I'll be sure to ask you for advice, etc when needed. ^^

  • i have that same keytar!!!!!!!! got it for $400 great deal

  • Very smooth. I hope to one day match your finesse with a keytar.

  • how much do you think the new roland model will be? how much was yours? i play keyboard but i wanna move on to keytar!

  • Keytar is just a way to play. Roland AX-7 is only a MIDI controller without sounds. The new model (Roland AX-Synth) will include its own sounds, and that's the reason why it will be more expensive. I think it will be around 1100 $

  • nice, its actually cheaper than i thought it'd be! thanks, i know its just another way but i heard its harder?

  • Well, I wouldn't call it "harder", is just different, and you must get used to it, and until that, it will be a little more difficult than normal, of course ;-)

  • well its sure as hell badass, im gonna raise money for the new AX-Synth for sure!!

  • won seco XD

    saludos desde chile

  • Muito bom!!!!!!

    Very good

  • One of the best keytar-videos on Tube and in HD! Wow Man that board looks even cooler when you can see it in HD :P I'm going to buy myself Roland AX-synth when they start selling them :)

  • Thanks man, yeah its nice than Roland is going to release a new model ;)

  • awesome man, perfectly done

  • Um, are you plugged in?

  • Sorry :) I don't understand what you mean. Do you ask if I'm really playing it? Of course man, I think is appreciable, but thanks for your question. That means that it sounds so similar to original solo, hehe

  • yes he is, if you look closely, the cables are there :) congrats dude, perfect!

  • yup cables are there, however all I can hear is the backing track and the sound of keys being hit. i'm not just being a dick here that's ALL i can genuinely here.

  • Its played with a similar sound, but it's far from being the same. If you listen to the backing track (The surrounded performance at constant motion DVD), you will easy notice the difference. Congrats for the video, very well played.
