I remember the good days. Larry Brown in choir-. glueing mrs. Knouff drawers shut. hanging with the coolest teacher sand freinds ever-MR MIKE MURPHY and MR KINTZ. watch the cellar dwellers sneak a smoke behind the back of the school. The West side is the Best side and the East is the least. Go Dragons
this video is so sad i had so much fun at la i loved everything about it :( im just happy that i was the last class to grd from there i miss it so much
The city tearing down Lorin Andrews and Longfellow is bull crap. They've been history for years to come, All those memories gone. Now its replaced by the corrupt Massillon Middle School, which is just a terrible school. I've been there from 5th to 8th, I'm in 8th now, and all the years have been just awful. You get no independence whatsoever. You have assigned EVERYTHING. And the all around school system there just sucks man.
wow that is sad they had to take it down i was only there in sixth grade and thats when they were telling people they had to but it was a nice school and i remember that 1 teacher let us write on the walls and everthing
wow i miss this school, the room with the green wall at like 3 mins is my math room. this school was amazing i actualy loved school when i went here. lol i actualy have a scar on my arm from the the heaters they had there(the only bad thing about the school)
thanks for the memories i didnt get to massillon to see this, i remember the teachers mr eyerlie, mr green, mr courtheyn, mrs zeno, coach hose, mrs knouff applehead what was his name?
logymonster, I think I know your grandparents. I am sorry they lost their home. My brother either dated your mom or aunt. We used to have good times on Lorin Place my Aunt and her parents lived there.
After 8 years at a private Massillon grade-school, I only spent 1 year, 1976-1977, here before going on to WHS. But the fond memories of that year will be with me forever. I moved from Massillon in 1980 and as they say, you can never go home again. I'd give anything to spend one hour walking the halls of LA and especially my old Washington high school again. Oh, how time flies.
It has been almost 20 years since I graduated from there. Even though I no longer live in Massillon, that school was the best. I have many great memories of the place. We even had some of the best teachers like Mr. Williams the 7th grade Ohio history teacher or Mr. Brown the choir director. It broke my heart watching the video. Is there a website for old L.A. Dragon Alumni?
Man, I remember Mr. Williams and Ohio History- I really did like him. Mr. "pocket pool" Brown...my choir director too- we sang Bad A**Michael Jackson-remember? I loved that school-even the gym/lunchroom...I remember walking up those stairs every morning-I remember people peeing on the heaters in the bathrooms-ugh! My kids laugh because I taped the demo of our school where they go to school- and I tell them that one day you guys will miss it too and thank me. I loved LA-the Poets never beat us!
I remember being in Mrs. Roth's English Class and someone set off a stink bomb in the bathroom a couple doors down on the 2nd floor. Now days a kid couldn't get away with that. When did you go there?
what year did you go there? Mr Willimas Ohio History...wow! mR pOCKET PULL ha ha thats great!!! I was there in 7th grade and then moved..I graduated in 1993
its really funny you know. i can still see the inside of the building very vividly now 5yrs later alot of good times in that school from the bball games to hanging out with friends.
i am 46 my2 sisters and i went there my 2 daughters and son son went there they tore it down the yr my last daughter was 2 go , i wacheced this with tears and a smile so many memories of who we were and who we are nowggreen and white fight fight so sad denise
I don't care about whether or not the dragons or the poets were better, that was my school and it makes me so sad that it's not there anymore :( I am in my second year of college so it's been a while since I went there, but this made me cry... I remember going into the auditorium for pep rallies, hanging out in the choir room, running for track and playing basketball in the gym... thats where i met my best friend to this day and i think thats what got me the most...
Good thing that school went down... Longfellow was wayyyy better at everything... I mean we were better at football, basketball, pretty much every sport... our colors were better... the only thing LA had over Longfellow was the mascot... even though ours was more creative... GO POETS
come on now Justin LA almost always won in each sport heck even people from Longfellow then transferred to LA in 7th grade then Sheeg transferred to LA in 8th grade yeah I think you got it backwards lol ah well RIP LA & Longfellow 2 great schools
I loved every year that I was there. I had sooo many memories there. Thank you for the video! :)
