the Blackbird manufacturer sent the GRAPHITE guitar South to be taken underwater for the video shoot amazingly, the guitar was fine afterwards it was since sent down to the Amazon for a trip retracing the production of Herzog's AGUIRRE WRATH OF GOD - it survived that, too.... I believe that Gretchen said "namaste"... they were extracting eggs and sperm to see how the resulting zygotes did in sea water of varying ph and temperature - for ocean acidification and climate change research
Fascinating. I knew that McMurdo is a large concern, but I didn't expect it to be that large or modernized. But I am left with more questions. Is fusion funk the preferred music of academics? Who in their right mind would submerge a $2,000 Blackbird guitar? True, it isn't made of wood, but that is no way to treat a fine instrument. Did Dr. Gretchen say "gomen nesai" when she held the sea urchin up to her forehead as a 3rd eye? And what are they extracting from them? Should we be afraid?
Brilliant! The best use of a camera is usually just to take it somewhere amazing and let it run. I enjoyed this more than every single documentary and movie I've ever seen about Antarctica combined. Great sound and music too. Thank you.
Great underwater guitar. Where's the hydrophone recording?
