  • epic beyond words

  • Ringo Starr: Drumming 101

  • THIS SCENE IS SO FUCKING CRAZY !! !! !

  • I think it's pretty safe to say that this is THE MOST iconic scene in cinematic history.

  • evolution of the spurs fan, filmed last week at wipsnade zoo i believe

  • And this son, is how the human screwed his future up.

  • George W. Bush's decision to run for president must have looked a lot like that.

  • When I saw this the week it came to cinema I did not understand the monolith.

When I had the pleasure of meeting mr. Asimov I told him I still did not understand the monolith.

he replied to me and I will never forget it, Watch the movie as often as is necessary and repeat'.

    True anecdote.

    Thanks for this memory.

    Gem

  • @repelghosts Too bad the book was written by Arthur C. Clarke, and not Asimov...

  • "From bones to bombs"

  • I fucking love this scene...

  • How sad that the first ever use for tools was for killing...

  • @revolutionarybum0711 You know this is just a movie right? And animals have killed other animals since the beginning of time. Try not being a dumb fucking cunt next time.

  • Hey do you guys think the tapir falling on its side at 2:09 symbolizes man establishing dominance over other animal species?

  • @UltimateJasper I believe so, Jasper.

  • @UltimateJasper I think partly.

In the book, the very first usage of tools was to kill an animal too, but the book made it clear that the event was significant because the man-apes (who were crippled with constant hunger) now found a new, abundant source of food.

Later on, though, they were called 'masters' of the world after they killed one of their primary predators and then the leader of rival group.

  • This video is a mirror for every human soul out there.

  • The first Drummer in History! lol

    So Damn Epic!

  • IF EVOLUTION EXISTED, YOU'D BE PRETTIER BY NOW. instead, you're a dirty porn crazed atheist. <3

  • lol comments by creationists?? Those guys still exist??

  • I want "Thus Spake Zarathustra" to play everytime *I* have a good idea!!!!!!

    XD

  • @DCdabest; Had any good ideas? It's been a month and its still awfully quiet.

  • @JustaSmuck

    shhhhh....I'm still thinking!

  • @jenwenrules - abiogenesis is a myth. Also, it looks like you are the one who needs to read up and get your eyes opened because apparently you don't know the difference between natural selection and evolution. Hard for me to believe that you have actually studied it out and can make such a huge blunder.

Nothing has never created anything regardless of any amount of given time. That belief is not science it is religion.

  • Well if I'm a monkey, maybe I should act like a monkey

    *throws crap at everybody*

ps, what was that pyramid like thing doing there?

  • Comment removed

  • @TheCommentSection - why is it that you folks always have to resort to name calling? That in itself shows the weakness of the overall position as well as the insecurity of those who follow it.

Idiot? I think not. You can believe you evolved from a shoe if you like. No skin off my apple.

  • @vbarnes156 Most of the arguments by the creationists have been disproven. Natural selection honestly makes more sense and has more evidence backing it up. As a former creationist, I have to say that evolution is the better theory. I recommend you finding some books about it. It's quite eye-opening.

  • @euzap - So those monkeys represent your ancestors? Ok. Evolutionary theory has enough holes in it to steer an ocean liner through. You can follow that dogma blindly if you like. Have a nice day.

  • @vbarnes156

Holes or not, at least evolution has some evidence supporting it. Where's creationism's evidence? Keep in mind that writings in an ancient book don't count as evidence, nor does the statement that ''life is complicated and therefore had to be created.''

But wait, you're under no obligation to explain anything and you're not looking for a debate. How convenient.

Also, by mocking our beliefs you ARE attacking our intelligence, so just drop the holier-than-thou attitude. Idiot.

  • anyone else almost die laughing when they saw this the first time?

  • @Flash Virus - I am under no obligation to explain anything to you nor you I. You started off with ad hominem attacks. That's very poor debate technique. I have no time for that.

You believe that there was more than likely Divine intervention? Good. That gives you a leg up on the irrational.

BTW - the only retarded, idiotic and ignorant thing we have here is this video. Notice how I did not question or attack your intelligence?

Enjoy. "Ane the cow jumped over the moon."

  • You have no idea who I am or what I believe. So your ignorance of my take on the situation shows up immediately.

I'm not arguing for any point of view and I'm not looking for a debate. You can believe whatever fairy tale you want. Keep your monkey relatives.

I just think it's hilarious that folks look at that stuff and take it seriously and then have the nerve to get upset when others see it different. That's just too bad.

Say "HI" to Lance link for me.

  • @vbarnes156

"Fairy tale" + "monkey relatives." How funny, idiotic, & ignorant. If you want to debate, then start explaining USELESS vestigial structures to me, one example in particular, the manatee. Which has toe nails which literally serve no purpose.

I do agree evolutionists fail when it comes to understanding how an intelligent Ape could have evolved. More than likely there was divine intervention. But to say we're not related to other primates is borderline retarded.

  • It's just plain dumb. Those are your relatives?

I love science fiction but this is more than tragic, it's comedic.

Epic proportions? Sorry. Check out the beggining of "Patton" if you want epic proportions.

  • @vbarnes156

The only 'hillarious and tragic' event happening here is a grown-ass adult arguing for the existence of a skydaddy who created everything in 6 days.

  • @BeschimmeldeDrol that made me lol, nice one

  • @vbarnes156 The ape in this clip owns Patton for strategic creativity.

  • @vbarnes156

    "Those are your relatives?"

No, those are fictional representations of our ancestors. lol

Our ancestors looked like monkeys? Yes.

Go learn evolution if you want to show us more than your stupid sarcasm.

  • There are certain things in the world that are of epic proportion, and this is one of them. Enough said.

  • Absolutely hilarious and tragic at the same time.

  • @vbarnes156

    What?

    It's nor hilarious or "tragic"...

It's epic (in the true sense of the word) and awe striking.

  • I love youtube comments. Always guaranteed to give completely mental comedy arguments!

  • Is Ric Flair going to come out and kick the monkey's ass?

  • @vincentdebroglie Well then that is our difference of opinion I believe any conclusion should serve the audience just as much. Films are created to entertain the audience as well as being an expression of art, I cant put all of Kubrick's films in my top 10 and i think most people around the world would haveT2 as one of their all time favourite films.

  • @vincentdebroglie Yes he creates popcorn film because that's what action films tend to be labelled as, but he also adds some meaning to them otherwise they will be flops. Also what's wrong with happy endings, are you so closed minded that you think films should only have depressing endings? You also forgetting that the "good guy" dies at the end of T2 so i have no idea what your talking about any more.

  • @vincentdebroglie you say Avatar has no meaning watch?v=Chw32qG-M7E

tell that to these people who are risking their lives for freedom.

  • @vincentdebroglie The meaning in a film does not have to be complex and it should not be criticize if its simple. One complement you have to pay to Cameron is his ability to use a female actor as a protagonist in almost all his films, T1+T2, Alien, and Avatar. Also its SciFi so its the small affects now having a profound affect in the future. T1+2 were made after the Regan years so it makes reference to the arms race and production of weapons, Avatar makes obvious reference to mother nature.

  • @vincentdebroglie I'm sorry but you say "he knows nothing about the art", this is just a hate wagon. Making a film visually stunning is part of the art. And you're criticizing him because he makes films entertaining?!? Its not only art-house flicks that can have meaning as well, there is plenty of meaning in films like Terminator 2

  • why all the hate on Cameron? He pushes the boundaries of technology in cinema and has made some incredible films (I'm not just talking about Avatar). Considering why A.I was never made by Kubrick he would definitely be grateful to Cameron if he were still alive.

Anyway there's no point justifying his merit, its obvious. I'm not saying he's better than Kubrick by the way, far from it.

  • Charles Darwin, salute your filmmaker superior.

  • and this is how the wii mote was created....

  • - - HEY, - How'bout someone makes "Dawn of Man 2". It would be a short sequel that just shows ModernMan watching " The Dawn of Man". .

  • cause & effect=tool making animal, opposabel thumbs...don't complicate it

  • @lastwhitewoman - I heard there's a saying in Naples that goes - " the musicians change all the time -- but the music stays the same ".

  • Wtf?

  • @Jboiineate its an iconic moment man

  • 2001 is not about space exploration IMO. It's a meditation on the infinite scope of the universe.

  • @TronSepia Whoah, that's deeeep. Lemme go lie down...

  • 10 mil anos depois e a exploração do Homem pelo Homem continua a mesma. Evoluímos?

  • i remember when i saw this film. I had no clue what was going on but i knew i liked it

  • my hair stand up on an end..

  • @dopeanimal. yup we discovered how to kill to eat first and later to wage war against each other. Great film, classic like no other.

  • 2001: set the bar for sci fi in the "modern age"

WHEN has their been a space exploration film that even compares? The answer in one word: NEVER

  • As epic as it gets.

  • Greatest movie of all time

  • whats up with all these idiots comparing avatar to space odyssey?

you cant compare old school 60's stuff to modern sci-fi... their two completely different thing. anyone arguing on either side of this infantile fight are idiots...

  • @bRADnaptime and before you start insulting my grammar, English is my seccond language...

  • @bRADnaptime Very similar just different eras. Big budget sci-fi movies with (at the time) new and innovative effects. I personally think 2001 is a more polished, original and insightful work of motion picture with more shocking effects to boot (for the time it was filmed). Who does not feel a little upset when H.A.L dies ????

  • You cannot improve on perfection.

  • the dawn of man triped me out wen i first saw it

  • scene woulda been better if the ape started talking with an english accent lol come on, you know it would...'i say old chap...but why are you bashing those bones?'

  • @copsondonuts Lmaoo.

  • james cameron sucks fucking balls

    common

avatar? i don't know but i think it was exactly the same as pocahontas exept the loction

    james cameron should die

    just like michal bay

  • 1:03 Spectacular

  • ........and there you have it ladies and gentlemen, the early stages, of the development of Keith Moon. Now let us turn our attention to the Stone Age where we will see a developing Cheech Marin discovering the cannabis ruderalis plant. Let's watch.

  • Nick Nolte's first acting role. not really, but just saying.......it reminded me of him.

  • jeams camerons king of the world needs to remake this film fuck kubrick

  • Comment removed

  • @bigfaggykitty James Cameron is a baby pooping in diapers compared to Stanley Kubrick.

The very thought alone that a Kubrick film can be remade is an outrage on itself. I feel sorry for your conscious mind, it's clearly clouded with brainwash.

Go watch Titanic and while you are at it, cut your wrists. Thanks.

  • @bigfaggykitty James Cameron, king of the world: "Here's your coffee, Mr. Kubrick. Anything else, Mr. Kubrick? Right away, Mr. Kubrick."

  • @Salguine you didn't get anything. got praise monkeys of your minds and mouses on their rools. stay a mouse.

  • @bluesuedeshUs For a moment I actually considered taking a moment to try to figure out what the fuck you're trying to say, but then I reflected on how short life is and how it shouldn't be wasted on stupid shit.

  • @Salguine overall there both sick directors but when it comes down to it, kubrick makes pieces or artwork while camera makes fucking mega-blockbusters, they both aim for their respective goals and are the best at them

  • @jacksedit Cameron=Weird fucking angles, explosions, aliens, no plot what so-fucking-ever.

    Kubcrick, da shit

  • @morvorify

How eloquently put my good man. Cyber thumbs up to thee.

  • @bluemoonrising26 green thumb (Y)

  • @Salguine Why, because he made one good film?

  • where's the fucking cut???

  • @cuilo He cut his finger while uploading the video, I guess.

  • That was a one small step for an ape but one giant leap for humanity!

  • Arguably one of the greatest films of all time

  • probably the most known scene of all the movie universe

  • Indeed, this is the best cut..

  • they should remake this movie in 3d

  • @talleyho12 Absolutely not.

  • @talleyho12 FUCK YOU!!!

  • @LazyCritic08 no Man! i mean use the same movie but ADD 3d effects

  • @talleyho12 You have no idea how much that would ruin Kubrick's playing with depth perception.

  • @TheOverloader mybe, i just love 3d movies, clash of the titans was awesome in 3d

  • Comment removed

  • @parachronism You just said "you're opinion", therefore your opinion is nullified, too.

  • @talleyho12 no way... not even Burton or Spielberg
