One complement you have to pay to Cameron is his ability to use a female actor as a protagonist in almost all his films, T1+T2, Alien, and Avatar. Also its SciFi so its the small affects now having a profound affect in the future. T1+2 were made after the Regan years so it makes reference to the arms race and production of weapons, Avatar makes obvious reference to mother nature.
