The Trotters were incredible athletes and so was jese owens...too bad when he went back in the usa AFTER winning the golds in the olympic games he would end up racing against horses in order to make some money cause the goverment wouldn't support him...such a shame... :(
The Trotters made an incredible contribution to the world not just for what they did in sports. The only thing I would have liked is if the story started with the Rens beating the Original Celtics. This is not the first all black team to beat a championship caliber all white team.

@MCEntreri I don't think there's any video footage of the Rens beating the Original Celtics or even beating the Oshkosh All Stars in the World Basketball Championship.
@MCEntreri Agreed. By the way, have you seen the "Standing on the Shoulders of Giants" documentary about the Rens, directed by Kareem Abdul Jabbar? They have a small clip of them playing. The Rens were a pass heavy team. John Wooden said they were the best team he had ever seen.
I saw them in the early 60's as a kid and it was a great great time. They had skills that made basketball look like magic. Curly Neal, Meadow Lark Lemon,(love the name).
Now that I'm older and know everything they went through makes it even more remarkable. I saw them in Oakland Ca so they probably were more comfortable but in the 60's racism was bad there too. But surely not as bad as they experienced in other US cities. regardless they are an American treasure
