Using GIMP to add a face into a different picture

@willliamx If the layer won't budge, then the boundary size needs to be increased.

Click Layer, then Boundary Size.

Increase it by double, triple, whatever you need to give your pasted image the range of motion you need.

What Version of Gimp is this , If its 2.6.11 .. It wont let you change the Layer order like you cant put the background before the new layer , Please help anyone !!

@shanz12345678910 Odd, I'm using 2.6.11 and it lets me do that.

I click the layer in the "Layers, Channels..." window and can freely drag above and below anything.

What I would recommend if it's not letting you move the background, is make a new layer from the entire background (CTRL-A, CTRL-C, CTRL-V then right click on your new "Floating Selection" in the Layers window and select "New Layer")

You can then hide your "background" version by click the little eyeball icon to the left in Layers.

@007rockycam2 Yes, you can. It doesn't turn out as well, because you'll see edges from the one pic pretty obviously and it needs to be sized and rotated perfectly. There are several ways to do something, this was just made for someone to give them an idea of a couple features and one way to get it done.

@AXNJXN1 I made this video specifically for someone who I know wouldn't object to me using foul language as a joke. I don't run a series of tuts nor do I plan to, so your suggestion is unwarranted. Go back to church or whatever else spawns oversensitive smug aholes that deem it pointful to berate someone trying to help someone else instead of just moving on to a better source. Plenty of good series authors out there.

Again this is not indicative of a final result you can expect, if you spend some time on detail, and add displacement/lighting to the face to detail it into he pic.

Just trying to show some basics.

This applies to most decent image editors, such as GIMP, Photoshop, Acorn, Pixelmator, Paint Shop Pro, etc.
