stock bose 9 speaker surround sound system in my '03 suburban

Bose is one of the top Audio companies out there, but their sound quality in SUV's are quite sub-par compared to the quality of their other speakers, such as home theater surround sound systems and headphones. Not saying the SUV quality is terrible, but Bose has done a quite better job in quality with their car audio systems, such as the 10 speaker surround sound system in my Mazdaspeed 3, compared to the surround sound system in my wife's Tahoe LTZ

Your SAAB sounds way better than this.... My dad has this system on his 2005 Denali and it's not very good in my opinion. My stock Bose system in my i30 is better than the Denali's and it's 13 years old.

@FREEKINDSHEETS1 ok im a ford man and i love the shaker system....... but basicly all it is, is kick component speaker meant for bass and has no tweeters whats so ever bose has the tweeters in the dash and a sub in the back on the vehicle hidden while the mustangs is in the trunk and u only have the sub in the mustang if u get the shaker 1000 the 500 is only the component speakers.. and also the bose system also has subs in all the does.and to the comment above yes harmon/kardons are better

@watso64 Thanks! I've heard that the home products aren't too great, but the only other Bose product I have is a pair of in-ear headphones, and they aren't bad, but there are probably other headphones out there that are better for the same price.

i think everything bose is overpriced lol. for the price of the $4000 bose dvd player system [yes dvd not blu ray] you can get jbl srx dual 15" speakers [2 of em] then get a srx 18" sub, and still have money left over to buy a blu ray to hook up to it. all of that would equal 3500.

@jrodigan5 still love my flex with sony still wondern how the expeditions audophile system stacks up to the bose in the suburbans but i still love my flex cant afford the gas in a truck based v8 suv the flex has gotten better mpg as the miles grow

My friend just got a 2010 Expedition and he said the system is amazing. He said they soud pretty similar. The epedition is a really good looking car, I've been thinking of trading up on another bigger SUV or cross-over, like a Flex, and I've been cosidering the expedition, Flex, and possibly a used Mercedes GL430. I don't have to worry about gas mileage to much because I also have a SAAB and a Mazda that get between 20 and 33 mpg, so I drive those more often. Still haven't chosen though...

i would go for the expedition just because i like v8 music and rwd truck meat and gravy grrrrrrr stuff but if off roading or towing isnt you the flex probly could replace the sabb mazda and chevy it has space ecoboost (355hp) power and great styling and customizing also the flex is great fun the traverse or gmc acadia just might be the happy middle tho

the flex is a great altertainave to youre suburbabn if towing or off roading isnt youre thing and if you have nearly 50k like you spent on youre sub then the ecoboost model would probly be fun its quality is great and i love raley seing others on the road that look like me mpg is nice at 17 as a daily av aroung mostly town the best is people not just saying nice car but what is it can yo show me it ans then seeing the disbelif lol its a ford

I'm not one of those guys that's committed to one company, I've got three GM's (the suburban, a Silverado, and a SAAB 9-5[well used to be GM]) and two Fords (a Mazda 6 and '66 Mustang.)

I also had Bose in my 2004 Chevy Avalanche they put like a 4-5inch down below the radio and climate control and bose isn't suppose to sound crazy bumping hard it just sounds nice and the wasy like subs do in a pack of a car sound horrible compared to bose so u are getting a retty good deal with stock Bose sytem in your car or truck oh btw Chevy FTW =D

Audi and Aston-Martin's Bang and Olufsen system, BMW and M-B's Harmon/Kardon system, Jaguar's Bowers and Wilkins system, Lexus's Mark Levinson system, and Rolls-Royce's Lexicon system would eat any Bose car audio system alive. Have you even heard any of those other stock systems?

S430 has a stock bose system and when i first looked at i thought it would have a Harmon/Kardon system and i was surprised to find out it didn't.
