I love this show and this theme song and the opening credits, but for the LIFE of me, I hated how the cast members' names always showed up over someone else's face. Like Aimee Teegarden's name plastered across Connie Britton's face. They couldn't have synced it up better than that?
I hate to clear up all this conversation, but I wrote the FNL Theme with Bennett Salvay, and we performed it along with Bruce Watson on guitars and live drums. This piece and the score of FNL were completely inspired by the band "Explosions In the Sky". Thanks to the band EITS for all their great music!
@WGSnuffyWalden Is there any chance your score for "Friday Night Lights" will ever see the light of day? I know they canned it once. But beautiful music like that shouldn't be kept under wraps.
@nessie4215 Zach Gilford wasn't a regular in S4, and Taylor Kitsch left the show, but for a couple appearances to make 'Battleship' (for Peter Berg) and 'John Carter of Mars'.
What gets me is that Brad Leland was never main cast.
@nessie4215 No as a matter of fact he was billed in the end credits for like the first two years! lol. Also Madison Burge was a guest star in season 4, despite being in every episode. I can't wait to FINALLY watch Season 5 in April!
@dickbradleyg Um... no... actually this song was composed by WG Snuffy Walden. Good try, though... and thanks for commenting on a show you obviously haven't seen

@SMDB82 this is a adaptation of a full length song. The song name is "your hand in mine" of the group "explosions in the sky". They also made the original soundtrack for the friday night lights movie, and I heard a lot of their musics along the series episodes.

@tulioamc no it's not. the theme is based on a composition by wg snuffy walden. explosions did NOT have anything to do with the theme and this is from the band themselves.
@SMDB82 Yeah yeah, i found something about this here in youtube, after i wrote this comment.
By the way, the composition is clearly based on explosion in the sky`s melody. It isn`t hard to identify some chords and everything. Its a really nice group for those who likes instrumental post rock song.
@SMDB82 hahahaha. in 2004 the Group Explosions in the Sky made a full soundtrack for the Friday Night Lights, the Movie... that become a full album that made they quite famous. In this CD they made three versions of the song "your hand in mine". This music is too similar to the Snuffy`s song to be coincidence, my friend. Probably the executive ask him to make a 45second record that have the same "spirit" of the original song.
@SMDB82, i`m not arguing, friend. Just talking, keep cool.

TEXAS FOREVER! And I'm from the STL lol.

@SMDB82 There already is one. The theme is from the song "Your Hand in Mine" by Explosions In The Sky and it's 8:18 minutes long :)
SaRa2691 1 year ago
@SaRa2691 This isn't "Your Hand in Mine" and its not Explosions in the Sky. Its by W.G. Snuffy Walden

@tulioamc again no it's not. snuffy writes his own beautiful music and the composition is based on HIS work. they are similar tho.

the drums are indentical. Really. Check it out.
tulioamc 11 months ago
@tulioamc not gonna argue with you about it. snuffy has been around for quite a long time. do your research cuz i'm done with this now.

EITS = Explosions in the sky
That`s why the drums are so identical. :)
